He told me that installation is free with purchase. As the tow driver off loaded my car he ran out the door and told us to leave it in the street, which we did. He then went on to tell me that the would not install my battery because of the location behind the tire. When I suggested that it shouldn't be difficult all you have to do is remove the tire and install, he told me "If it's so fucking easy why don't you do it" and he walked away. The place was empty in terms of customers at the time so I didn't understand what the attitude was all about, but beware they will tell you one thing over the phone and do another in person! I would rather use Autozone because at least they have a business model that respects the customer.

I was at the Home Depot on Madison in Murrieta when I called batteries plus. The voice message…read morestated if I wanted to speak to a salesman to press one and I did so. This message repeated three more times with me pressing one each time in the hope they would finally answer. No sales person answered so I hung up. I waited a few minutes and called again getting the same message after pressing one three more times I began driving to the store. As I entered the 15 freeway I pressed number one for approximately the 10th time, after about 30 seconds, the call was disconnected by the recording. By the way, when I first called, the recording, stated what the business hours were for the day. I discovered once I reached the store location why no sales person ever answered the phone. There were no sales people at the location because the store was closed and empty of all product. There were signs on the door stating the business would be closing at the end of their lease, which was on June 30. I was there on July 1. Another sign on the door stated I could go to their Palm Desert store and it provided the address and phone number for that location. I try to support the mom and pop and small chain stores shopping there rather than the big box or on the internet. My battery need on this occasion was for a specialty battery I was certain Batteries + would sell. I had no intention of driving down to the Palm Desert store or even the Vista store because I would spend more money on gas than I if I bought it online. I did speak with an employee at the Palm Desert location voicing my about the voice message system that was still in play at the former Temecula store. I told him in my opinion the message should've been changed on the closing of the store advising that the location was permanently closed. This would save people from making more than the one call or driving to the location. The employee told me he would advise the owner. I called the Temecula store a few minutes ago (7-3-25) and found it was still a working number. I also discovered the recording had not been changed as it repeated the exact same verbiage that it had on the 30th when I called. I don't know if the employee I spoke to advised the owner of my call to change the recording or if he did whether the owner decided not to change it. In either case, one of the two dropped the ball.
