This AutoZone is pretty good. Been coming here for my oil changes for a long time. I always get the Castro oil synthetic blend. When you buy 5 quarts in an oil filter, you get the Castro oil discount. saves a lot of money on oil changes overtime. I went here on a weekend to exchange an item. Kyle was very kind & helpful in getting the right item for me. I know they are usually busy, but if you come prepared, they can usually help you out. Sometimes they do not have a huge inventory, but the parking is good and for the most part, "Auto Zone" is worth a trip. read more

What a horrible staff. After they convinced me that I was buying the wrong part, they sold me the actual wrong part (ps I was right in the first place). Then I walked outside and it wouldn't fit so I went straight back in to exchange it. They had me wait in the line for what seemed like ever. Then told me I'd waited in the wrong line and to go to the other. I asked them why they saw me standing there and didn't say anything. Of corse they stared at me like I was the idiot. Then after shuffling me around to two more lines I decided I'd had enough and asked for the manager. The managers response to my complaint was, "I don't know why you think you're so special you don't have to wait". Before I my head exploded I threw my item in the trash and walked out. How I wish I could give zero stars. The staff here was worse than awful and apparently their system is incorrect too. Allow me to explain... I have a 2005 Ford Focus. The battery died recently, and since the battery was four years old I decided to replace it. I went to this Auto Zone and brought my old battery and asked to buy a new one. It took two employees to find a new battery. The new battery was shorter and had fewer cold cranking amps than my previous battery, but they assured me that it would work. I decided to take their word for it and drove my fiance's vehicle back to Idyllwild. I put the new battery in the next day and nothing. The lights turned on but the car would not start. I was certain that the starter or alternator were not the issue since I jumped the old battery before and the car started up just fine. So I made the drive back to Hemet and brought in the battery I just bought. They searched their system and told me that battery they sold me was GUARANTEED to work in my car. I explained my situation and they told me that my only option was to return the next day to speak with the store manager. I have a busy schedule and cannot just drive to Hemet from Idyllwild multiple days in a row. So I took my battery and left. I went to the O'Reilly store on West Florida and explained my situation. The employee told me exactly what I suspected about the battery: that you cannot go down in cold cranking amps and that the Auto Zone had sold me the wrong battery. The O'Reilly catalog system showed that the battery I purchased was not the correct one for my car. The kind employee called a different Auto Zone location and said, "I bought a battery there but it turned out to be the wrong one. My wife is going to bring it in for a refund." They said, "Sure, no problem." So I go to the West Florida Auto Zone and they gave me cash in my hand for the battery that the East Florida location refused to do anything about. The East Florida employees told me that it was Auto Zone policy to not refund or exchange products that were not defective, so why was it so easy to do at the other location? Because my "husband" explained the situation? Because since I'm a woman I can't possibly understand these things and I must have made a mistake with the perfectly good battery they sold me? I digress... After all this, I purchased a battery from the O'Reilly store with the correct CCA that I needed. I took the battery home and guess what? My car started right up! The employees at this Auto Zone gave me incorrect information and refused to acknowledge it or make it right. Their customer service was dismal, which from my experience seems to be a pattern at every store I have visited. read more

On 11/8/14 I purchased two new headlight bulbs for my car from this Auto Zone. The staff that helped me graciously installed them for me. A few days ago the passenger headlight went out, so I went back down to this Auto Zone to exchange it (it's been less than 90 days) and the manager was extremely rude and blamed his rudeness on 'being busy with other things.' He was ultimately willing to exchange the headlight, but when we went to pull it the thing started working again (must be the connection). Last night the driver's side headlight went out - this time it was actually blown. I went back down to Auto Zone and the guy that was working was extremely rude. He told me that they don't install headlight lights (which they obviously do, since they did for me), that the return policy is only for unopened merchandise, and that I would have to talk to the store manager if I wanted them to do anything about it. At one point he asked me, "I don't know what you're wanting me to do here?" He was very condescending and rude. Their online chat even confirmed that if the bulb goes out within 90 days to take it into the store and have it exchanged out since it's a brand new bulb and should not go out that quick. I'll be going to O'Reilly's from now on. They were extremely helpful and told me that there is a manufacturer defect warranty on their headlights.
