I purchased it on September 28, 2022 and installed in October by a certified Mechanic. Once installed the engine kept overheating. My Mechanic checked into further only to discover a ruptured coolant intake manifold hose. Once the repair was completed my Mechanic informed me that the engine had history of overheating. I though that the replace hose was going to solve the problem but, it did not. The engine continued to overheat and finally my Mechanic said it wasn't worth the cost because the engine was defective. I contacted usedengineslocator in October and followed the return policy for my Warranty. It is March 28, 2023 and I've been calling every week but, nobody answers my calls nor my emails. I did talk to a person named Mark who said he was the Manager and would take care of the problem that, was in January 2023. I placed my faith in this transaction only to be "scammed" by a shady business. I was told that the salesperson Tony in California has passed away so, I guess usedebgineslocator "do not" honor transaction made from another State. The engine was sent from California since I live in Glendale, Arizona next to Phoenix. I am "very disappointed" with this establishment. It is businesses like this one that caused undue hardship on people. I am a retired active duty Air Force member and Disabled Veteran. Solid five stars…read more My mother's 2005 Mazda had to have a transmission replaced one year ago. Took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't get the parts and couldn't do the work. I called around to 5 or 6 shops, (including several Aamcos), claiming to specialize in transmissions and got pretty much the same story. But I'm stubborn. And then I called Mr Kirby. He says "Sure, bring it in" or something to that effect. She got it back a week later with an 18 month/18,000 mile warranty. A couple of weeks later her warning light came on. It was driving ok so we took it back to Mr Kirby. One of the new parts had a crack in it so he repaired it completely under warranty. All's well that ends well. Fast forward a year and the warning light comes on again, and this time it wasn't really drivable so we have it towed back to the South Loop. (Thank you AAA) Again, a crack in one of the replacement parts. Again, fixed completely under warranty. Now, I know that's Aamco's warranty policy and not Mr. Kirby's. So while I'm technically reviewing AAMCO-South Loop, it's Mr Kirby that makes this location special. He's personable and professional and "Is a man of his word". What more can you ask of an auto shop? Lastly, I suspect, but don't know, that's it's the unreliability of the after market Chinese made parts that forced me to make so many phone calls to find a shop willing to do the work. If you ever need transmission work, (Heaven forbid!), go see Mr Kirby. He's a good guy.
