I called them and was told this was normal with a new battery as it "learned" a new vehicle. I was told to drive it about 20 miles and all would be OK. My wife got stranded in the middle of a 4 lane highway. The truck required towing to a mechanic. Found the voltage regulator failing. They insisted that any reputable battery dealer would have checked that when installing a new battery. I called Interstate back and was told, "You didn't ask us to check the system". Not good.

I called Auto Zone on Northwest Hwy.-I had been there during the D'Allas-ka event in January when it was snowing here, and they were super helpful, so I thought I would go back. Lloyd answered! A live human! Helpful, courteous, come on in! Lloyd makes it feel like Grapevine is Mayberry R.F.D. or Virgin River! I showed up and told Ethan G. I had called for car key fob batteries and he immediately went to work on it. Not pointing me towards the aisle, literally getting the batteries, cutting the pack open and installing them in under 5 minutes. It's not his job. He could've sold them to me and I would have spent the next two hours doing it (not kidding!) Ethan G. made my day. When I was leaving, Lloyd was in the parking lot, assisting another customer with something on his car, and he waved goodbye to me. Again, beyond the call of his job description to go outside and help someone out with an issue, but he was going way above and beyond, and it seems like this is his default. Had to call Roadside Assistance to jump it so I could get to O'Reilly's Auto Parts for a new battery before they closed. They said it was the alternator not the battery. Contacted DFW Mobile Repair and Hamm responded immediately with a price quote to fix it. Set up the appointment for mid-afternoon the next day, July 5th (Sunday, on a holiday weekend). Hamm was certainly knowledgeable, and after testing, said it was BOTH the battery and alternator. He replaced the alternator (which he had brought, having had my prior information as to car and model) and then drove to O'Reilly's nearby for a replacement battery which he then installed. In short, Hamm was responsive, capable, courteous and efficient. DFW saved the day (although I lost most of the holiday weekend with the problem!). Pricing wasn't cheap but was competitive I'd say. Give DFW a shot. Their customer service and mechanical work was outstanding. They also have a shop in addition to their mobile repair service. I will certainly consider them for all my future work! I'm one of those female, who doesn't know anything about car parts. I was hoping the sales rep can help me but to my dismay, he didn't show me what my options are and didn't even bother to tell me about the warranty. When I started to question about what kind of warranty the battery offered, he starts to show signs of annoyance. I did purchased a battery [not the one I prefer) Due to the unprofessionalism of the sales rep, I ended up retuning the battery 30 mins later at a Dallas location in exchange for a gel battery.

She flat out said it was contaminated because it is plastic.... I'm pretty sure oil comes in plastic containers.....?
