This is my second time calling Al. He never lets me down. This afternoon Al from Road Service 1 came out and replaced my brakes. I called this morning and he was able to be here by the afternoon. He was actually an hour earlier than his given time with all the parts and explained everything he did to the truck. The fact that he explained everything to me, because it is nice to see and know what is going on, was pretty great. He did not have to take the time to do that. It was a great learning experience. He is very reasonable with his rates and goes above and beyond when checking out what needs to be done. Was having problems with an oil leak and it was getting worse. Took my car ( Ford TaurusX, 2018) in on a Friday morning to have it looked at. Left it there and the owner looked at it and found it needed a front valve cover. Text me within a few hours and let me know and how much it would cost me. I Asked him if he could change my windshield wiper motor while he was working on it. It was done the very next day and everything was fixed. The final price was even better than he quoted us. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Went in to have brakes done and spent $450 for all 4 brake pads. A few days later I started hearing a knocking/rattling sound from one of my wheels. It got worse and ultimately led to my ABS light coming on and my back tire completely locking up while I was driving. I took at back to the shop and he said it was a small part separate from the brakes that broke. After that was replaced I started having a new issue where the driving felt bumpy and wasn't as smooth. I don't trust going back to this shop and I've now found myself paying $1,200 at a different mechanic to fix what they broke when I took it here originally as I had zero issues prior to taking it here minus then the brakes. Read the whole story below or get the bullet points here. - Wife took in car for timing belt service and owner said this car has no timing belt....it does - He tried to replace a fan that works fine - When confronted and shown to be 100% incorrect he backpedaled with excuses and more lies - He seems to rely that people don't know anything about their cars and take advantage. Stay away. Wife went to Road Service 1 Auto Repair because he was nice to her previously. We went to get a Timing Belt and Water Pump replaced and we had purchased the parts already and just needed the labor. The tag on the car shows the last time the belt was replaced and it is due. We also asked to check the cooling because the car has been overheating a bit. I get a call from her that the owner states this car has a "timing chain" not a timing belt and that its fine and does not need to be changed. However one of the AC fans is not working properly and needs to be replaced. This is 100% wrong. I know these engines well and they absolutely have a timing belt, not a timing chain. I assume there is a miscommunication because a simple google will show this man is incorrect. So I go up there to pick up my wife and talk to him. I ask a few questions and he tells me the exact same thing, these cars do not have a timing belt. So I ask him to look at the car with me for a second, and I show him the factory sticker that shows the last time the timing belt was changed, with the date and milage. I ask him how I would have been able to buy the part for the car, which according to him, should not exist. I tell him these engines are used in several different Toyota models and all have belts. Then he starts to backtrack, saying he'll change the belt. Then says there is copper in the belts, so they are a chain which is complete nonsense. Against my instinct I ask him to just change the fan. I want to give him my business because he had been kind to my wife before. After getting breakfast she felt more and more uncomfortable with having the car serviced here for anything and we called and just picked it up. He handed the keys over without saying a word. The car has since had the timing belt changed, water pump replaced, oil changed, and there was no issues with the AC fan. The owner of this company was trying to take advantage of my wife by claiming blatantly false information and trying to do things which would ultimately never done anything to fix our issue. Stay away from this shop. You need someone you can trust to work on your vehicle and he is not someone I would trust AT ALL. read more

Do not ever do business with this idiot. I took it in for a tune up snd gas flush. He claimed my vehicle was fixed and to come get it. When I picked it up it ran just as bad as when I dropped it off!! He tried to charge me $850 for a job that was half that price. When I called him out on parts he tried to charge that he didn't even use, he claimed he made a mistake. When I asked him why was my vehicle running as bad as it was when I dropped it off. He then told me to put high octane gas in it and drive it around...WTH!! He then told me to take my vehicle and leave, that he didn't want my money and he walked away and slammed his door on me and wouldn't answer my phone calls as I sat outside confused. Told me to leave the premises when I started asking more questions. Then he started texting me harassing messages about pay him for the parts. I wish I could give him none took my car in for ABS lights are all on left car about a week because had a trip I needed it. I told him put a new module and he told me save my mine and he will take care of it well he kind of did I had a check engine light code U0416 that pertains to the ABS module and was told it woul go away in 50 miles then 100 miles then 500 miles light an code still there. I called him and asked questions and was told might be the PCM so I replace it code and light still on called and told them I found and bought ABS module and after a little talk he agreed to install it. so today I sat there for 5 hours to find out that all my lights are on car was in limp mode plus was told take it to the dealer to reprogram it and I told him it was programmed for my car and he blamed me it's all my fault at first I paid nearly $1300 to fix this and had some other work done I have to add that in but was told they had to replace sway bar links they were jus done about 2 years ago but I said fine still having issues so I took it to North Loop Dodge and that was a joke they wouldn't work on it because it was over 10 year old but they did give me a list of issues that they could fix very confusing one of the items they wrote up was those links so I bought new ones and installed them and went back to the shop and said I think a mistake was charged on my bill and left it with the mechanic and no call back. I bought a rebuilt PCM thinking that makes that be the issue wrong took car back today everything working but the U0416 code and check engine light gave them a new Abs module and found out something is wrong because the one they put on wasn't like the one I bought new so they put the old one back on now the scan tool they had won't talk to my car speedometer not working car was in limp mode and I was told it's my fault I told them I only had the check engine light and code 0416 and I was called a lyer that I had no proof it wasn't that way when I brought it in we argued a bit and was asked why did I come back and I told him to pick up the bag of parts that came with the new module he gave me $200 and we departed ways but my car is broken even more got home put the old PCM back in and now it runs but abs lights still on and no speedometer in the beginning I trusted him but no more read more

Cannot recommend this place less! Please do NOT take your vehicles here for repairs. I took my vehicle here back in July to repair a leaking water pump which ended up being a big job because of where it was located. First off, when I sent them a text asking for an update, the owner tells me they don't have my vehicle and that I dropped it off at the wrong place. After finally realizing THEY parked it in the wrong place, we got the vehicle back and thought that was it. Well, fast forward to now I had to replace my rear break pads and rotors due to normal wear and tear which I expected but decided to take this to my normal mechanicanic and thank God I did! They discovered that oil was leaking because of the improper way the interior was put back together and said we needed to reach out to the previous mechanic as this is something they caused. I called yesterday and spoke with the manager who clearly didn't understand anything I said, because he decided to text me at 10 PM ON A FRIDAY NIGHT! When I called him out for his inappropriate behaviour and corrected him again regarding the issue with my car, we finally realized we don't want anything to do with this man or his shady business. This is now going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair and we know based on previous reviews not only does he do shotty work, but he has no intention of making things right even when it's clearly his doing. Still trying to decide if legal action is the route I'm going to take. And in case the owner decides to respond, I have copies of the text messages with the time stamp AND video evidence from my current mechanic detailing how this is CLEARLY your fault. Al is a great guy and has helped many people last second, including me. He's open 7 days out of the week. Absolutely great prices and should honestly be charging more for what he does. Most mechanics will charge $20-65 an hour in labor. Al is very understanding and big hearted, he has even helped me out when I needed it and I didn't have the most money to fix my car. My most recent service I have inquired from Al was the installment of my front and rear cameras. He got them set up so I can have 24hour surveillance on my car. (You just never know with how people are lol). We wired the cameras so they would be tucked away on the inside so no one would snatch them off. Al has also worked on my moms and sisters cars. My moms car needed an oil pressure sensor and spark plugs. He's really quick and will usually get ur car out same day or next day, unless a part needs to be ordered. Al has been my families mechanic for a long time. Al doesn't like drama or scammers!! I have seen it time and time again, he's a small business. If you don't have the money and/or plan to pull a quicky take your money elsewhere because he's not the man to mess with ps: he can't read English that well, which could lead to a misunderstanding. Wow. What an amazing experience. It's refreshing to have a trusted mechanic that comes to you. I have a fully restored 1967 Mustang, and it's rare I let anyone work on it. This morning we replaced our battery and the jeep was still not running right. Auto Zone stated it could be the alternator, and my husband had to be at work in two hours. I remember seeing raving reviews on the neighborhood app of a man named Al. Well I called Al at Road Service 1 and he showed up within 20 minutes replaced the alternator in 15 minutes. He then checked the battery and noticed there was a bad wire, which he fixed at no charge. He then made sure everything check out good and sent my husband on his way to work. Al was professional and quick. He was friendly and I enjoyed talking to him. He also showed us everything he did and why. I will be recommending Al, at Road Service 1 from here on out. I tried this road service guy on March 3, 2011, my friend referred Al to me.... Al came out to my house to inspect my freeze plug and to stop my car from over heating... Al gave me an estimate of $500 for the job.... I thought it was Ok, Al claim to fix the freeze plug and stop the car from over heating, but come to find out that, he just put some stop leak in the system... I called Al back the next day, because my car was worst than it started, and the original problem with my car was still not fixed.... Al said that he was going to come back and revaluate the problem in a couple hour... But Al, never showed... I called him back again, but he started to avoid my calls and when I finally got him on the phone... He told me to stop calling and he was not going to repair my car and ran off with my $500... This repair service is a scam... The guy do not know what he is doing, he is just damaging your car even more... Al never gave me a reciept for his services even when I insist to have one... He promise a granuatee warranty for 30 days, but could not produce paperwork for it and my car didn't even last 24hour... This company is a fraud, they are rip-off artist... Beware of companys with just P.O. Boxes and no home base.
