Yesterday we needed to buy the most basic thing you would buy in an auto parts store . My partners…read moreneeded washer fluid. She did decide to go in herself. It seemed pretty straightforward. I recommend it to her that we buy 20/10 concentrated washer fluid. this is an extremely well-known product. It's has no dyes in it. The parts agent at the desk told my partner. "He had never heard " of it and that they did not have it in stock and sold her some premixed washer fluid which is fine. I use that fluid it in my own car, but it wasn't what we asked for. His response to her was he had never heard of it and they did not have it instead of looking it up like they do for almost every customer. Who's looking for a fuse or a brake pad, or anything else . When she got back to the car, I checked on the website and it was in stock at that store, so I decided to go in and just ask him about it. It wasn't too busy in the store, and I thought it would be ok. He's a man of my age. Who's likely worked around vehicles for a long time. He was wearing a Safeway hat, which I thought was kind cool in its own way. Because there was someone ahead of me. I decided to get the part, which was displayed in the back of the store clearly, with the other two brands of washer fluid. I waited for the agent to become available. He took someone ahead of me who had went out to their car and was coming back, which which happens at these stores. When it was my turn to get to the counter, I showed him the white bottle of 20 10 fluid and said to him gently that I wanted him to know that the product was in stock, and it was our first choice. His response was. He said he did not know had the product and it was in stock but he did not say to me he had "never heard" of the product. Which would've surprised me if he had not. I told its concentrated, and therefore, it's easier to store, for the long-term use His response to my comment after showing the product was not defensive and therefore somewhat favorable. He said, I would have to mix this product with water, and I told him we can get water. I can't say this was a five star experience because we weren't able to buy a product that was on in the shelf on the store, but I do think his reaction was good, and I appreciated it. I would be happy to go back there again when went and if they need a rises.

The brand I first wanted was not available online, but from a knowledgeable person, they directed us to "Battery Bill" & I'm sure glad we did. Decided to try Battery Bill's in Kalihi (love the commercial and jingle) and husband was so amazed at their service! First of all, he called before driving over and someone actually picked up the phone! A human he could ask questions and have answers spoken back! They had the battery so he drove over and it's located next door to Honolulu Sign Company on Diamond Head side of Waiakamilo. There's a Texaco gas station across the street. A small parking lot with about 4 stalls and one handicapped stall. There is free street parking on Moonui. Walk in the doors and he was immediately welcomed by a customer service rep at his computer terminal. He greeted my husband with "Hi! May I help you?" Hubby said he called about a battery and gave him the number. The rep types it out on computer and says yes we have it! Within seconds, literally seconds, a runner brings it to my husband and it's the one! He was so stoked about the service and not having to walk around looking for it and hoping it's the right one. This was his first experience in the store and he cannot stop raving about it lol. Plus the batteries were super cheap at $2 each! The last thing that impressed him which may not matter to many, is how professionally dressed and clean cut everyone was who worked there. Mahalo Battery Bill for making his "honey do" chore so pleasant and we shall return for more batteries and spread the word!

When I told her what I was looking for, she directed me to the correct aisle and even guided me from across the store, calling out "keep going" until I reached the product. At checkout, she helped me select the correct product for my application. When I I couldn't find the plastic bag I had used to carry in my parts, she pointed out that I hadn't brought the bag to the register and suggested I had probably left it in the aisle. Sure enough, that's exactly where it was. The manager's friendliness, attentiveness, and helpfulness made my visit especially enjoyable.

It was a first for me to walk into this auto parts store location in Nu'uanu, as I normally frequent the McCully location where the old Cinerama Theater used to be. Now if you remember the long lines of people waiting to see Star Wars at the Cinerama Theater, then you one OLD FUT like me! Buwahahahahahaha! I must say this O'Reilly Auto Parts store in Nu'uanu is by far the largest auto parts store that I've every walked into. Out of curiosity, when I was walking around in the store, I decided to check out the electronics section, and came across a Type-C Auxiliary Adapter that was looking for to hook up my smart phone to my stereo in my car, as my old stereo didn't have Bluetooth. Although the price was pretty reasonable at O'Reilly (about $16 - $20 bucks for one cable), I didn't need it right away & decided to look online at Ebay & I ended up getting four cables for just $6 bucks. Can we say DEALAGES Yo??? Lol! Although I didn't end up buying anything, but killed some good time, I wouldn't hesitate to come back here should I need something specific for my hot rod in the near future.
