Last week my starter gave out on my Scion Xb and out of Autozone, Napa, Carquest, and a few others....the one place I tend to lean on is O'Reillys Auto Parts...formerly CSK Checkers Auto Parts. Call me soft or loyal...my first paid employment was working for Checker Auto Parts and I really trust the quality of their parts. Okay...okay...fast forward. So, I needed a starter and the coupon popped up...it seemed straight forward and I ordered it. Delivery UPS (this is another uphill mountain I'll talk about mext) it was to be delivered in 2-3 days. 4 days into it and no delivery...at least that's what I thought! Turns out the UPS driver placed the rather large box just over my front gate atop a large metal box...like a fresh trophy for anyone walking by to grab-n-run. I say large box and the location because later when filing a claim with UPS they showed me a picture of the delivery. Fast forward...the item appears to have been delivered, placed conveniently for any box hunters to easily take. Once I realized that my item was likely stolen I contacted UPS and filing a claim seemed straight forward. Ah but wait...UPS closed my claim almost immediately stating that the item had been delivered. I then contacted O'Reillys and after waiting over 30 minutes on hold informed me that they couldn't do anything for me being that UPS closed my claim. The suggestion was to contact UPS and request that they reopen my claim. What are you supposed to do...forfeit the money already paid! These two large companies have insurance that covers their loss but we as a customer are out on our butt. UPS agreed to reopen my claim, never told me why they closed it to begin with and not inform me. They said it will take 7 to 10 days for their investigation department to complete investigation. All the while O'Reillys charged my debit card and my car is still not working. I then received an email from O'Reillys today and they too shot my claim down. What got to me was this portion of the email and I believe it's important for any customer to know prior to going through what I am... "The security of deliveries becomes the responsibility of the customer once the order reaches the addressed location. O'Reilly Auto Parts is not responsible to replace product that is missing or stolen from the delivery location" It seems that unless UPS finds my order and gets it to me...O'Reillys washed their hands and left me high n dry. UPS will likely hold their position being that they closed my claim almost immediately after filing it. I set out to save a few bucks, ordered an auto part online and ended up out of $180 bucks and no auto part to get my car up n running. Thank you O'Reilly Auto Parts and UPS.

I spent two months in Flagstaff working with highly recommended RV service providers trying to get the electrical system fixed. No one could figure out what was wrong. I have a Victron system and Relion batteries. One of the RV service employees suggested I try a Relion dealer. I called Continental and connected with Gunner. He told me to come right over and within ten minutes had the very simple problem diagnosed. It took him five more minutes to fix my electrical system. It has been a week and the system is working perfectly. I suggest if anyone is experiencing electrical problems and has lithium ion batteries it would be a good idea to contact Continental Battery Systems. Most recently, I ordered two OEM liftgate supports for my vehicle, and they arrived very quickly. When I went to pick them up, I asked the associate, Daniel G., how to install them. He explained that it was very simple and only required a flathead screwdriver to remove the old ones and snap the new ones into place. He even offered to install them for me, and it literally took about five minutes. My auto repair shop had told me it would take 30 minutes and cost $45, so I was really grateful for the help. Another time I came in with what I thought was an alternator or starter issue after receiving incorrect information from an auto repair shop nearby. Daniel let me know they had an OBD2 scanner available and helped check the codes on my car. The scan showed a battery code and not a starter code/ issue, which helped point me in the right direction. He also recommended that I purchase a good OBD2 scanner for future diagnostics and even told me where I could find one, even though they didn't have one available for sale. Even though it was about 30 minutes before closing, he was gracious, patient, and more than willing to help install the battery.
