Once I got the head I had notices quite a bit of scuffing on the mating surface but did not think anything of it as it was going to the machine shop to get surfaced and a valve job. After I left the junk yard I drove straight over to a well respected machine shop that I have used before and trust immensely. After 2 weeks they got around to working on the head that I brought them, they are very busy, and immediately stopped after removing the cam cage and shaft. Apparently 4 sets of threads were damaged before I brought the head to them, I know this as the damage could not have been caused via removal of bolts. They very nicely boxed everything up and sent me on my way. Upon returning to Lewis Auto Parts for my refund of the damaged part that they sold me I was immediately talked down to by the cashier who always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. I then had the Owner of the store look at the head and tell me that the head was damaged after it left his store. After telling him that I took the head straight from his store to the shop he told me that I was, and I quote, " telling a bullshit story." He then told me that all parts are inspected before they leave and that the cam cage would not have been attached before being sold though it clearly was when I had bought it. He then claimed that I took a "whizzy wheel," or wire wheel, to the surface of the head even though it looked exactly a crappy as the moment that I had bought it. After approximately 10 minutes of being insulted and yelled at by an ignorant old man he just walked away and did not return. All I wanted was a refund for the damaged part that these jerks sold me but instead I got an ear full of abuse from an old con artist. I can not only say that my experience was bad but it was demeaning, demoralizing, and determined to keep me away from that crooked place.

He did say that they would;d "give" me a new one but the order would not go in until next week. I did say that it was unacceptable. Then he came back and said that they would have one shipped in for me either tomorrow or Saturday. Okay with that. When I checked on the battery that was installed I found out that it was a second market battery. With that battery I could not see the % capacity. I had then put the old battery back in., When I went to turn it on it would not and was told that the battery was dead. Couldn't because I came in with 88%. After looking and talking with other places I was informed that the screen was also going to be a second market one. So to put things in a nut shell Batteries Plus was selling me a second market battery (without telling me) and "giving" me a second market screen. Apple will not work on phone with second market parts. I went in with an entire Apple phone and going out with a second rate phone. Aside from that the "tech"kept saying he was "giving" me a new screen. Replacing yes, giving no. In a nutshell do not, I repeat do not go there. The other store may be okay but this one is not. They should offer either financial compensation or a new phone with all Apple parts.
