I seriously love O Salon, so much that I had to leave a Yelp review cause I just want everyone to know about this fabulous place. I've been going to this salon since it first opened when I was around 16 (I'm now 24), and to this day I have never once left with a bad experience - I have had my hair cut and colored, my make up done here, my nails done, everything. I have had different stylists (Dara, Alyssa, Jessica, and most recently Megan) and each one of them has always done an amazing job on my hair, nailing exactly what I want every time. I feel welcome and excited every time I've sat in their chair. I ask for their opinions and suggestions and they've always given me honest and knowledgable ones. Never once have I felt pressured to purchase products or purchase anything really other than what I am there for. The staff as a whole is professional, warm and a fabulous group of women to be around. I was just in last weekend determined to drastically change my forever long hair to an a-symmetrical shorter cut and I was scared shitless (7 inches off), but Megan was somehow able to put me at ease, walked me through it all and finished with an amazing haircut that I've already got so many compliments on. I showed her a picture of Beyonce with the cut and she literally nailed it. The prices are great for how great the quality of service is that you're getting. The salon itself is clean, cute and inviting. I don't even know what more to say. Just don't look any further and get your hair done here, or really any service for that matter. She's great with fashion colors and balayage (I've had her do both) and she's worked so hard to help me grow my hair out- she's never given up on me and she's talked me out of chopping it all off more than once, which I greatly appreciate! read more

I went to O Salon for the first time and I had a great experience. I will definitely be returning! From the moment that I walked in, I felt very welcomed. I checked in for my daughter and I and the sweet lady at the front desk invited us over to a refreshment area where there were beverages such as water, coffee and Tea. There were also sweet treats. I was a half an hour early and my stylist Kate O. took me right away. She was so kind to me throughout the whole appointment and it was very obvious that she was very knowledgeable. She gave me an amazing haircut and color! She even managed to hide my stubborn gray hairs! My 6 year old daughter also had a wonderful experience with her stylist Sara. Trying to be nice here but I paid $200+ for a hair wash and blow dry basically. I really wanted to have a great experience here because all the employees are super nice and welcoming. However the result that I ended with was not what I had in mind. I discussed with my stylist that I wanted highlights like in the first photo. I told her I didn't want to do a balayage because I had one before and I didn't want all of my bottom hair to be bleached because I wanted some of my natural color to show on some strands, like in the reference photo. She told me she was going to do a balayage anyway. This shocked me, as I just told her explicitly that I didn't want a balayage, but she was so bold I figured she knew what I wanted. I didn't say anything because I just figured she's the professional - I'll just trust the process. Once she was done I thought it looked different from what I asked for, but it looked alright to me so I thanked her and told she did a good job. When it was time to pay $190 for the color - not cut, ended up being $200+ total with tip. A price I would have expected had it had a bigger effect than the hair that I walked in with. I come home bummed that I didn't leave looking how I was expecting. Now that i see it in natural light it really does look almost the exact same as it did before. My family asked me why I didn't end up getting my hair done - that's how little the difference was. :( Overall nice staff, a great atmosphere, just wish my stylist would have done what I asked for originally rather than deciding what she felt she wanted to do. I was excited to try O Salon after reading all the great reviews. I went for a brown wax and had the worst brown wax experience of my life. She was a bit rough during the wax, but that's fine. Afterwards, she immediately started penciling in my brows without permission or forewarning, without even letting me see the brows first. In fact, she never gave me a mirror or anything to let me look at them. Afterwards, they felt pretty irritated and were quite red. I was willing to just give it the benefit of the doubt that it was just normal irritation and redness, but today I still have red patches in the area where she waxed! The brow job itself was OK--a bit thinner than I would like. But I won't be back again because I shouldn't have, like, open sores on my face after a brown wax. read more

I follow a good number of local Facebook pages and O Salon came highly recommended by the locals. So the past weekend I decided to give the place a try for a cut and color. The pluses - My visit was planned last minute, I called them Saturday morning and I liked that they were able to take me in by noon. Having explained what exactly I was looking for, they recommended that I meet Dara. The salon itself is really neat, courteous front desk and professional stylists. Dara was warm in welcoming me. She went on to keenly listening to what my expectation from the visit was. Given that I have wavy cum frizzy hair I was looking for a simple cut with 1 or 2 layers. For the color I wanted something not too loud but just a subtle pop of color. The A-OK's - The hair cut itself was good but nothing extraordinary honestly speaking. To me it felt like the same cut my stylist at the local Supercuts would give, infact shorter than what I wanted (but thats ok). Color was a bit of a bummer. I have naturally black hair and I truly wish the stylist had given that some serious consideration. Cos my hair when I stepped out seemed mostly the same color wise. Apparently a mix of violet and red had been used but none of it really came through. Maybe my black hair needed a different color for it to be more obvious or a different color approach perhaps? Well am not the expert, only a customer who can put forth what she expects. Overall an O-k hair salon experience, still looking for that gem in this part of the suburbs. read more

I took my mom for her birthday expecting to have a great experience. She got a blow out "done", unfortunately the lady was rude and not in a good mood the entire time. She pulled her hair many times until my mom had to ask her to stop, at the end he hair looked frizzy and not how a blow out is supposed to look. I have tried to contact the owner multiple times, but she's never in the salon, so if something goes wrong no one will actually fix it. read more

Very nice salon....the people are so friendly, technicians are very experienced. The only problem is the pedicure chairs. They are not true pedicure chairs but they are oversized leather club chairs. They are very uncomfortable and my back hurt during and after pedicure. Also the nail technician has to push the chair manually to position for pedicure . It's too bad because the salon is otherwise pretty awesome. read more

I have been going to O Salon and Spa for about 3 1/2 years now and absolutely love it! I couldn't be any happier with the services I have received! Kari is my stylist and a perfectionist to say the least! I NEVER leave there unhappy! I always want something different and she always knows what will look best on me from my cut to color! I have started this review and then ended it many times. How can you put it into words when you've found someone who cares about your hair almost more than you do? Jessica is an amazing person and was trained by the best, Marni. Jessica takes her time and listens to your concerns. She gives great tips, superb haircuts and colors hair beautifully. I have never received more compliments on my new hair color! She will have you coming back on a monthly basis just so you can have her shampoo your hair, it's an experience that is so relaxing it will transcend you. Danielle did an amazing job on my highlights and cut. I am absolutely in love with my hair. I have black hair and the highlights she put in are beautiful! It's like she was reading my mind! Plus if you're a new customer you get a goodie bag with free stuff for the first 4 visits. I've hone twice this week to see get so half my freebies are done, but I'll be back to collect on the rest! And it's super clean! The music magically turns up louder for some reason. Maybe a ghost or it started thinning out and there wasn't enough people to absorb the sound. Great place for manicure and pedicure. My wife had a nice relaxing time and loved every minute of it. Very much worth the price, the people were helpful and nice over the phone. I've been going here for 5 years now and stopped for a while when I was out of state for school. But I always always come back to Karen! She is amazing and has done so much for me and my hair, from styling to my current ombré. She tells me what works for my hair and what doesn't, and I never feel like it's just "her job" when she's doing my hair. She genuinely cares, and just recently I wanted to get my hair done before I left for vacation and she had no openings but was willing to stay later on a Friday for me. I just went and got my hair colored for the first time at a salon and I am sooooo happy!!! I had been once before for just a haircut and couldn't wait to come back for a cut and color. Danielle did my hair both times and has done an amazing job!! It is worth every penny!! She explained the color to me and seemed very knowledgeable on the product which I appreciated and needed. Also, the cut is exactly what I asked for!! She really listened to me and made sure I was happy. I have gotten so many compliments already. I love going to this salon bc not only Danielle, but everyone is so friendly and always seem in a good mood. I've had several different stylists there, but have been seeing Jen really consistently for the past two-three years. I've recommended this place to any of my friends who have hair :-) I love how they are constantly going to seminars, classes, and workshops to keep up with the latest styles and techniques. Come to this salon if you want to get screwed. I came here for a full balayage and a haircut(which I am aware is expensive) on 09/01/2018. I ended up getting charged $191. When I looked at my receipt they charged me for a "glaze" and a "ph bonding service" that the hair stylist(Keisha) never told me about and definitely didn't tell me I would be charged an extra $44 for the service. Absolutely ridiculous. Not asking someone before you put product in their hair that's going to cost so much is absolutely unprofessional. If you decide to come here make sure you tell them not to add anything extra without letting you know the price first. I will not be coming back here. read more

This place is the biggest joke ever! I have never posted a review before but O salon is so bad I felt that I must so no one else spends there hard earned money there. I went to get my roots done (I am a blonde) and she turned them bright orange I looked like a pumpkin I told her wow it looks really orange her response was it blends really well. How does lite blonde and orange blend? So I paid my 65.00 bucks and left. Later that day I called to tell the manager that I was orange she said oh that can happen. What! So I went back to get them fixed and nothing no sorry no discount nothing I paid 120.00 for there mistake. So please take my advice and do not go there! Also they over charged me for a travel size conditioner $15.00 it should of been $3.50 I called them and the girl who checked me out said I don't know what you are talking about the travel size is $15.00 so you were not over charged. I'm not quite sure how this place hasn't been added to Yelp yet because it's over two years old. However, that being said, I am proud to be their first Yelper because I have nothing but good things to say about this place. All through high school I never stuck with a stylist for more than six months. Mario's was too expensive, Michael Thomas was terrible, and the woman who cut my hair my entire life eventually caved in to her lifelong alcoholism and sold her salon. My grandma had told me that she got a manicure at O Salon & Spa (to be further known as "O") and that it was a really nice place. I was, of course, extremely skeptical considering it's location - lodged between a Subway and a Staples in a Target strip mall - but I gave it a shot anyways. Turns out it is a beautifully designed and maintained Redken salon with an expertly trained staff and a full storefront of products (including OPI polishes and Pureology shampoos) for purchase. Got my hair cut/colored by a girl named Christina. Was happy with it and ended up discussing it my best friend. Turns out, she and her mother were ALSO clients of O and she suggested that I ask for Kari for my next cut. A few months later I made my appointment with Kari and I've been loyal ever since (going on two years now). I have had nothing but great hair cuts and colors although I have since stopped the coloring due to the expense of upkeeping it. Kari is patient with me when I don't know exactly what I want and she always styles it in the cutest fashion. I end up checking myself out in the store windows after I leave because I'm always so darn happy. The prices are a little on the high side (Kari's being $45) but I think that a great cut is worth the cost. I also get my waxes from a different Christina. Fifteen dollars for eyebrows is what she charges (I think). I never have a problem getting an appointment and cannot think of a single complaint I have about them. They were even super understanding when I canceled an updo appointment three hours before my time. Don't let the location fool you, O Salon is definitely upscale and won't disappoint. read more

Was recommended to this salon, so I thought I'd try it out. Had a consult for coloring my grays with Kesha who may I add seemed very lost at what she did. Her chair was dirty from just coloring a clients hair. That still had her foils in as she waited where guest are waiting to be called for their appointments. Not a good look for the business Kesha seemed to be intimidated by my hair or that she was just more concerned that her client was in the waiting area with foils in her hair. She said she didn't feel comfortable taking care of my hair and that even if she did it was going to be very costly to me. Ok thanks Kesha. I think she needs a new profession read more

She really listens to what you are saying and doesn't pressure you into doing something you don't feel comfortable doing. Jen Conner is a fantastic stylist! She did such a great job on my partial highlights and haircut. She was very friendly and informative. I will definitely be returning! Jen Hoffman is the BEST. She does my daughter's hair. Great for anyone who needs a formal-do, cut, or color. My daughter has red hair and has recently gotten blonde "balayage." I, of course, was nervous at first, but the results were fabulous. Jen Hoffman has, too, done my eyebrows and does a great job. I had gone here four years ago for a color, and because I was probably a little unclear, the stylist gave me a fairly flat, purplish hue that was not flattering. BUT! I returned a year later to give them a second chance, this time with Michelle. She is PHENOMENAL. I've been seeing her for two years--she's taken my thick, coarse hair from a pixie cut to an asymmetrical cut to a long bob with high lights. I've loved everything she's done. The price isn't cheap-cheap, but is still totally reasonable, and the location is convenient. I would recommend Michelle to anyone. read more
