My boyfriend and I stop in here anytime we're near Victorian Square. It's usually the first stop before we continuing on to our actual destination. And, during the week of the rib cook off, it's our annual tradition to come by for a drink and enjoy some A/C and a sink to wash off our hands! They have lots of seating, board games, bar games, and a fun atmosphere. They also serve food and we've had a couple bites and no complaints (but usually just sit at the bar for drinks and don't order off the menu). I think their nachos were memorable (in the good way). Service is usually pretty good; had a great experience with Nicole a month or so ago. Though we've had a couple of times semi-recently where we wondered if we'd been forgotten, and most recently, when nobody ever came up front to the bar (it was daytime), but we eventually grabbed a cup of water (which they provide on the counter) and left without a drink-drink. I was excited to try this once for lunch but was disappointed. The service was slow, drinks were just okay and our food had mixed reviews. The burger was decent, not seasoned well, just average. The corned beef nachos were terrible. The corner beef was good but the chips were more like tortillas. It came with picked and olives which I found odd. We ended up taking the cheese and corned beef off from the nachos and added to the burger which was amazing!! We will not be back. read more

Wonderful staff! The food was amazing, the fish and chips were perfectly cooked. Also had the burger and it was AMAZING. 10/10 for presentation, 10/10 for flavor. Not much of a wait time, they were very quick with service and super nice! Inside is super chill, you can watch the games and order drinks if you'd like. So I lived in the Boston area for 3 years from 2012-2015 and I grew to love all the Irish pubs in the North end. I've found a few good ones since we relocated to the Reno area but this one is by far my favorite! It's the most authentic and I felt like I was back in Boston the minute I walked through the door. My rating is completely based on atmosphere, service and beverages since we didn't have food but I can't wait to return and try the fish and chips, shepherds pie and Reuben! Big Jack, Bubbles and Krystal (hope I got the names right!) were so much fun and very skilled. We had dinner reservations next door and stopped in for a quick drink but we couldn't wait to return for an after dinner cocktail when we were done with our meal. They have a surprisingly good selection of wines by the glass and I had a great Pinot Grigio. When we returned after dinner I loved the authentic Irish coffee they served. This was our second time eating at O'skis pub and we truly enjoy the food. The atmosphere is cool and the waitress was so much fun. Our only complaint was the wait. It was evident that there was only one waitress/bartender for the entire room and she was busting her butt taking care of everyone. How she did it was beyond me, she must have been educated at Hogwarts or had Hermoine's time turner that allowed her to be at several places at once. I don't think she made one single mistake. She was amazing. It did take forever to get the food, and the check afterwards. I despise that and it's been happening more and more regardless of the restaurant you go to. Prepare yourself for a long wait and whatever you do, don't go hungry or you will be hangry once the food arrives. When hubs paid the bill he was told they were short handed that night (every business is nowadays) and that's what the delay was. I hope they get more help soon before she drops from exhaustion. Decided to visit O'skis on a very mellow Wednesday night. The bartender was quick and friendly and offered food upon us sitting down; we'd already had dinner so chose to skip it. Unfortunately, when drinks came they were still serving beer left over from St. Patrick's day and ingredients were missing from one of our drinks that they didn't have which was frustrating so the visit didn't last long. Positive: The bartender was friendly AC was very high & cool inside Not busy at all, even though it was HAN Negative: Slow service, extremely slow when they werent busy, staff seemed to assist " regulars" quicker than others We ordered the Potato "SKINS". Took forever to receive them, bartender noticed they were given to another couple in error. We did not reveive Potato "SKINS". They were potato "WEDGES" like huge wedges/steak fries with cheese. All melted, semi fried together on a tin plate. Yes, there is a difference Huge difference between the two kind...They were good, but not as advertised. We wanted "SKINS" If we knew thats what they were we wouldnt of ordered them. Plastic ware was given not sure if this was their norm or just during HAN. Plastic not our gig. Bathroom was filthy. Slow service for any refills or to get our check. Our last several trips here have been less than pleasing. It seems that many of the staff that once made this place what it was have left. The food has been mediocre at best and the once great bar service is dwindling. On our last visit it took over 10 minutes just to put in a drink order. Sadly, we won't be returning any time soon as this was once a favorite hang out of ours. Side note: Not that it is O'skis fault but parking over here has gotten very difficult as the City of Sparks decided to close the nearby parking structure. read more

Disappointed would be a kind word to use. It Was St Patrick's day. Order corned beef and cabbage for our party of three. Comes out on styrofoam dishes with plastic forks. When I saw that the corn beef was two slices in rectangular shape knew it was bad. It was probably bought pre-packaged from a food service company. This is truly a diamond in the rough! I have been to the Victorian strip on many occasions and have never seen this place. I actually discovered this place on accident. At first, we wanted to go to Great Basin, but it was beyond packed and we did not want to wait over a hour for a seat, so we ventured further down, and went into this small covered door. It was not what I expected. For one, it was much larger inside and we instantly found a booth to fit all five of us. The waitress immediately came to greet us and take our drink order. She was super friendly and helpful and I wish I remembered her name. The drink menu was extensive, so I was a little overwhelmed so I went to my "go-to" drink...the delicious and tasty Moscow Mule. It came in a copper mug, the way a Moscow Mule should be made, and wow, it was good. I was very impressed! Probably one of the best Moscow Mules I've had so far. My next drink of choice was The Clam. I didn't enjoy this as much as the Moscow Mule as it was a little on the saltier side, but still had a good flavor. The one thing that I really enjoyed about this place was that they offered board games and pool. My friends and I had hours of fun here playing Jenga and Taboo and even trying our hand at Trivia Pursuit: Genius Edition. I could go on about the friendly atmosphere, the wonderful service, amazing Traditional Irish food and drinks, but I am only going to talk about the fish and chips. The absolute best fish and chips in this area. Pan fried, light and crispy, the fish is so good. Served with fries, a scoop of cole slaw, and the very best homemade tartar sauce around. I usually skip the fries and ask for a double serving of slaw. I don't typically care for restaurant slaw, but this is freshly made, tangy, creamy, vinegary, and reminds me of my mom's. If you happen to go on a Friday night, the fish and chips are the special for $10.00. A deal that can't be beat. Bingo starts promptly at 6PM but buy your Bingo cards before 530PM you'll save $5 making it a $20 buy in. It was mostly locals save myself, a gal from Baltimore/Philly, and a guy from New Zealand. The Bingo caller was perfectly cheeky, made up many of the rules/penalties as we went a long and had a very well-rehearsed schtick for number calling. The locals knew his game and egged him on. Some even risked penalty (monetary or chicken dancing across the bar) just to make to the game more exciting. Prizes ranged from cheap wine to cash. The evening ended with a quick fire round of YAHTZEE (4 single rolls to earn a YAHTZEE) for a progressive cash grand prize. No one won this week so the pot is still growing! Not your grandma's Bingo; GREAT TIME! The good: Great Irish Pub feel. A little divey as a pub should be. This a great hidden gem in Reno especially if your staying at the Nugget casino. It is easily walkable, they have weekly food and drink specials a vast Irish pub food menu and one of the best fish and chips I have had. The coleslaw is unique as it has larger pieces of cabbage and a really nice flavored dressing. You can watch the game, and get your gambling fix in win enough to pay for my food and then quickly lost my winnings over the hour that I was there on video blackjack $20 dollars and cheap entertainment and a half my meal paid for in theory since I won $6.00. I would recommend giving this a place a try to watch the game of the day and a pint of Guinness and the fish and chips or Shepard's pie as a start. Also many appetizers and beer and wine specials. Glad I walked around the block. Bonus they have 5 different types of Bloody Marys. I talked with the bartender and she told me they make everything in house including the corned beef. In town for work and was walking around the area. Stopped in on a Wednesday evening so the place was not crowded. 8 people at the bar and two at a table in the front. I could not tell about the back area but it was not noisy. I liked the atmosphere of this place. I order the first beer in the board, not bad. I would order it again. I then ordered the fish and chips. The fries, not chips, were warm but limp. They were not crispy but had a fair flavor. The batter on the fish was a little over done, IMHO. The fish itself was good, I just peeled the overdone batter away. Again, i like a golden brown batter and this was more done than that. The slaw was ok as well. The server/bartender? did not visit the table until I was past being done. In fact, I finished the meal and started this review and she came over when I made the remark above about the slaw. Overall, with all the different places for food around here, the food did not WOW me. That being said, I would not shy away from the place If you have never been here. read more

Sheperds Pie fries! OMG. I also love the drinks, theres a special for double shots. The trivia app and ambiance are cool too. They also have local events and sports viewing parties. All that being said, I will echo what others have said, the bartenders are terrible. All of them. They ignore you, in fact order the double shot special because they will never be back. I thought it was because they favored regulars but I have been coming almost every Wednesday for some time and still get sour faces and slammed dishes and "What doya want?"s Always kinda feels like Im inconvienencing them. There is Street parking in the front of cantina los tres hombres, or you can park in the parking garage. There is seven tables outside, and on warm nights, that is the place to be. The inside of oski's is a typical bar , pub. A pool table, dart board, and low lighting. There are quite a few tables inside. Monday's are all day happy hour. There is a good selection of beer and a full bar. I met my daughter there for dinner. We started with appetizers, spring rolls stuffed with corn beef,sourkraut and swiss cheese. We also ordered mild wings. Both appetizers were delicious. The rolls were incredible. They were like little fried rueben rolls. The wings were cooked just right,with a vinegar based mild Buffalo sauce. For an entrée, I ordered the fish and chips. One whole filet of fish, deep fried and coated in beer batter.
