Yep... me again... writing another five-star review for O'Sung Autobody & Paint. I cannot say enough GREAT things about this shop. I would not trust any other place with my 2008 FJ Cruiser. This has been my go-to shop since 2014 and I am so grateful to have found them. This particular situation was due to the fact I had a latch issue with my driver side door this week. I took it in yesterday after work and the good news is they found nothing wrong with it. I did ask them to do the routine maintenance - oil, etc - and finally got the front tire sensors replaced. Yes! Another amazing review I can write for my absolutely hands-down favorite place to take my 2008 FJ Cruiser for any sort of work, even new tires, which I bought last year. I've been taking my FJ to O'Sung since 2014, when I got a ridiculous quote from the Toyota service department that made me seek a second opinion on the work I was told needed to be done... turns out 1/2 of what I was told by Toyota needed to be replaced or fixed, to include the brakes, did not, in fact, need to be done at that point. Again, that was 2014. Fast forward - 12 years later - these are still the hard working professionals I trust to the max to take care of my vehicle. This time the work I needed done included rotating and balancing my tires, an oil change, and the normal other routine stuff. I also needed to replace the rack and pinion and they also realized my supercharger belt was in ROUGH shape, so they swapped that out as well. I've attached pix like I usually do, because these fab folks also tend to to take before and after photos, which I really love to see. Because the BMW service center quoted a very high repair price for my vehicle, I contacted this mechanic and asked if he could repair my car. He asked me what the problem with the vehicle was, and I explained the issue to him. After that, the mechanic sent a tow truck and had my car taken from the BMW service center to his repair shop. About two hours later, he called me and said that he would not be able to repair the vehicle and that he would bring the car back and leave it in front of my house the next day. When I asked him why, he said that the car was completely damaged and that it was basically junk. My car is definitely not junk. The only issues are that the rear left wheel brake system needs repair and some sensor cables that were torn off need to be fixed. Despite this, they said they could not repair the car and that they would bring it back to my house the next day and leave it there. They asked for $400. I initially agreed. However, later I remembered that during our first conversation they had said it would cost $180, explaining that this was the average towing price. I didn't think much of it at the time and simply waited for the car to be brought back to my house the next day. When I woke up the next morning, one of the mechanic's employees called me and said they would bring the car and leave it in front of my house, but now they were asking for $400 plus tax. I told them that yesterday it was $180, today it became $400, and now they are also adding tax. I argued a bit with the person on the phone and then hung up. After that, the owner of the repair shop called me. He told me that I had to pay $400 and that I should come and pick up my car myself. I told him that I would come and get my car on my own and that he did not need to deliver it. Then he reacted angrily and said, "Why are you yelling at me?" I responded by asking why he was yelling at me. We started shouting at each other and exchanging insults. After that, the owner said he would not give me my car and that he would lock it inside his shop, and told me to come and get it if I could. When I arrived in front of the shop, I asked where my car was, where my keys were, and who had been shouting at me on the phone. The owner said that he was the one who had shouted and continued insulting me. We again shouted and exchanged insults. At that point, the shop owner threatened to call ICE on me. Later he said that my car was on the street and that the key was inside the vehicle. He also told me that he would call ICE and report me. read more

Was referred here by my AAA chains adjuster. I called ahead and they told me that they were going to be closing for 10 days in three days but if I brought the car in today, I could get my estimate. O'sung is the inspector for the insurance company. Came down immediately, they inspected the car, took pictures and sent me on my way. They never submitted the claim and went on vacation . If they were nice, that would be a different story, but the person helping me was rather abrupt. Would never go here to have my work done. read more

Owner Yun unprofessional and rude when dealing with complaints that his tech was responsible for. Will not honor3yr warranty on battery that was dead because he said it was new. Will not replace battery when just bought 3 days ago. Tech said alternator was good and just needed to replace battery which we did and the battery and car died 2 days later from bad alternator which our mechanic said that could be the cause for battery light on dashboard. Instead of Osung towing car to shop they sent tech to mislead us into thinking it was battery when it was bad alternator all along. I went to get an estimate for a scratch repair and was told it would cost $4k. When I politely asked again if it was really $4k, the boss giving the estimate responded rudely. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion at Zeo's Detailing. Oh boy, Ian from Zeo's detailing just simply polished the scratch for 5 minutes and it was gone, at NO COST. I wouldn't have minded paying out of pocket since I had already set aside the budget for the repair, but it's disappointing when someone is both overpriced and rude. Asked the shop to replace my trunk release cable and they were able to do it for a fair price and super quick (make sure to make an appointment)! The owner Yun called me and mentioned that the cable I bought wasn't OEM and originally didn't fit and recommended me to have the OEM cable but they were awesome enough to make it work in the mean time, till I could order an OEM one. As a small business owner, I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews as I understand that it can reflect adversely on the business. In this case, it is a necessity. I had my vehicle there for almost a month waiting on a part. Understandable as this is the island and the supply chain is slow. I mention a month as during this entire time I was NEVER given a quote as to the repair amount. I needed a door handle. Nothing special. The sends me a text which reads "Good morning, your car will be ready by 12pm, lyk once we start to wash, total is $1360.62 by cash or cashiers check, if paying with card we add 4%." My response was "$1360 to fix a door handle? Are you serious?!?!?". He then sent me a couple of pics of the parts being prepped for paint and a confusing invoice. He then called me after I said "What is the extra $300 for ? I see parts labor and "charges "." I was simply asking for clarification for the invoice. He then sent "I'm not doing it, come get your car." Really? Mind you, I never got an estimate for the repair. He could have used the existing door handle in my opinion. Regardless, he has no communication skills, no customer skills, zero patience and is extremely condescending. His short sightedness has also caused him all of my network who I would gladly send to a reputable mechanic. Lastly, when I went to get my car, absolutely nothing had been done. It was dirty and parked on the street. I walked into the office and he was seated at the computer. I informed him I was picking up my vehicle and I needed the keys. With barely a sideways glance he said "they're in the car". No explanation. No attempt to salvage the sale. Nothing. The worst customer service I have ever experienced! I wish I could give him minus 100 stars. I have owned my own business for 21 years and have absolutely never treated a customer this way. Do better!! read more

1st at because Yelp requires it. Owner is a terrorizing bully!!! I towed my car (in the afternoon) to this shop to get an ESTIMATE because it was his tow company that I used via AAA. Clearly told the owner i just wanted an estimate and not to start any work until I got the ok from my insurance. Provided Osung with the estimate from my insurance (for $1,890) that clearly stated INSPECTION ONLY, and told him I will call when I get the ok. The next morning my insurance said I wasn't covered and I would have to pay out of pocket. I called Osung and the owner said he already fixed it and had some parts on order. When I told him I never gave him the ok, he immediately got unbelievably aggressive and screamed that I had to pay. I kept reiterating I never gave him the ok and he hung up on me! Mind you, he still had parts on order and was charging me for the full amount of my insurance estimate. I then drove to his shop and when I told him he never got my approval to start the repairs he then stood up, leaned into me and said I have to pay or he's keeping my car and I can pay $100/day until I pay. He told me to pay or get the f&@k out. Be aware I'm a 60 year old woman, 5'3 and he was at least 6'2 putting his face in front of mine and screaming at me to get the F out! I then said ok I'll pay because I was so shaken by his reaction. I told him I want to see the itemized invoice of what he did. He then told me I will get an invoice AFTER I pay CASH. I asked again and he started screaming at me to F'ck off and he will keep my car. I saw the invoice on his desk so I quickly snapped a photo of it. He then got violently angry at me that I started crying while he continued to get within an inch of my face still screaming " PAY PAY PAY" as he backed me out of his office door. The invoice I snapped a photo of was just one sentence with the amount of $1,850.95. I was so distraught that I called the police to help me. When the police came I stayed outside and told them I would pay because I was terrified at this point and just needed my car. The police went to talk to him in his office and after about 5 minutes came out. The officer said the owner is going to undo all the repairs and tow it to the canal on Kokea Street. I said ok. I just wanted to be done with this guy and his terrible shop. It was quite traumatizing for me as I have never experienced any sort of violence like this. Personally or professionally. I cannot believe he is still in business. So now he responds with more lies. Don't even know who you're referring to so it must be another customer you pissed off or terrorized. I don't even have a son. LOL I don't even have to address it because by the looks of all his reviews, it clearly shows what kind of businessman is. I had a car accident recently, and my car wasn't driveable. After calling other towing services who couldn't help me, I called O'Sung's. A lovely tow truck driver arrived to pick up my car. He was extremely kind and helpful. He not only picked up my car, but he helped me to feel calmer. Then he offered to drop me off at home before taking the car to the shop. He called his boss to see if they could also repair my car, and they said yes. I had previously called four other shops, but they said they had no room for another car. So I was very relieved. As soon as they got my car, they started texting me with updates. They were willing to deal directly with Allstate to get them to pay for brand parts. It took some time, but they handled it, and I didn't have to do anything. Every evening, the man working on my car would text me with a photo and a status. The texts were very reassuring, and it was extremely helpful to know the status every day. When I picked up my car, it looked fantastic. They had done meticulous work, repairing not only the damage from the accident, but other dents too. It looked like a new car! Again, the mechanic and the owner could not have been more kind. Having a flat tire while you are on vacation is no fun! Especially when your rental car company (Budget) is not going to pay for the roadside assistance!!! Luckily we have AAA, they sent O'Sung to change the tire for us. AAA told us it would be a 3-hr wait. But O'sung arrived in just 30 mins. Changing the tire was even faster. Tesla sent our new 2024 Y to O'Sung for paint correction. They did a great job. However, they left the inside of our car dirty, they didn't place protective covering on the floor, which is something most car place do. I thought it was only the driver side that was dirty, but the day I washed the car I found dirty shoe prints on the floor mats in the back of the seat and some dirty smear on the chair. I would recommend O'Sung to have some quality control of returning the car back to customer. We let Tesla know and they (Tesla) offered us to have the inside detailed. read more

First, let me say that if you look at most of the negative Yelp reviews - most have to do with criticism about verbal delivery. Folks - these guys are serious body shop owners - not the hosts of a fancy hotel. I could care less about how they speak to me. The bottom line is - do they do great work at a fair price? Yes, they do. Fixed my 2023 Supra after an accident - so well done you can't even tell it had been in an accident. Want to know how honest they are and how they pay attention to detail? My car had to go back to Toyota to reset ABS; when it came back to O Sungs, they noticed a scratch that had not been there before sending the car to Toyota! I wouldn't have caught it myself. So Toyota now paying to fix that scratch. O Sungs workmanship is excellent. To me it's better to have great work at a fair price versus a "pleasant conversation" with second rate work and a higher price. read more
