During my visit today at O Teriyaki, I was truly impressed with the level of customer service. Gabby was completely hands-on, managing back-to-back orders in person and over the phone without missing a beat. She remained professional, kind, and positive the entire time, even while clearly working under a time crunch. Gabby took the time to answer questions about the menu, explained which items might take longer to prepare, and made sure customers had accurate time frames. That level of communication really stood out. On top of that, she was consistently cleaning tables as guests left, making sure new customers walked into a clean and welcoming space. Gabby is absolutely the reason I would come back -- we need more people like her in customer service. And to top it off, the food was great as well! read more

This place rocks! I'm from out of town but whenever I am in town I come here for some delish hawaiian BBQ. The meats are grilled to perfection. The rice tastes like clouds from heaven. Yummy yum yum!! I'm from hawaii, and I MISS my Hawaiian bbq plate spots back home. I 100% recommend this place. They even have the Hawaiian canned juices which made my little heart even happier. Don't go to L&L here in CA it's nothing like Hawaii L&L, come here instead. The kalbi is my absolute favorite. I've been here few times before as well and realized I've never written a review. I have also told friends about this place and they all have said it's delicious. Service takes a bit but it's because they're cooking the meat fresh! Good things take time . PLEASE start up a location in Sacramento, you'll be so popular. The mixed barbecue plate was $18 and a few cents and I got a lot of meat so it's definitely a big bang for your book. The noodles were udon with a little bit of vegetables mixed in which I appreciated. Servings were generous. Didn't care for the potstickers, they were deep fried with a vinegar sauce drizzled on. They were a bit hard to bite through. Service was good. Food is cooked to order so there is a bit of a wait. The restaurant is situated in a little business strip mall, a bit out of the way. Simple, basic decor. BUT the air conditioner was blasting and it was uncomfortably cold. We did not like the modern pop music which was playing. If the ambience was comfortable this would rate 5. I told them the website does not say "meat party trays" it only says "party trays". Party trays are also very small. The staff recommended getting the noodles mild since the Thai chicken is already spicy, and I think that was good advice. The Thai chicken had a little kick. I had no idea that there was a teriyaki/Hawaiian bbq joint in woodland and I was really pleasantly surprised. They offer both Hawaiian bbq and teriyaki, although the style is more like teriyaki with bento boxes. I got the spicy chicken/ teriyaki chicken combo and my friend got Hawaiian bbq beef. Both were good. The meat wasn't as greasy/fatty as most Hawaiian bbq is which was a huge plus. The portions are large and it was super filling. The price is reasonable. The insides of the restaurant are really nothing to write home about. There are a handful of tables inside and it's bare-bones. Also, ordering on the spot did take about 20 minutes to get food which was a bit slower than I would expect for the style of food. I would recommend calling ahead and ordering your food to go. They seemed to do a really good take-out business and there was a constant stream of people picking up orders. Parking is a bit limited and many spots are marked as short-term only. This wasn't an issue when we went, but if it was really crowded I could see it being more of a problem. Thankfully you could easily park a ways away and be fine, but the spots directly out front are limited. I will definitely be getting food here again, but probably will opt to get my food to go. read more

Takeout Ordered takeout to feed our large gathering (mostly kids) at my sisters house in Natomas. They brought home a bunch of entrées in to go boxes and we ate as family style. The entrées came with steamed rice, macaroni salad and toss salad. The Hawaiian plates included 2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad. Bowls were served with 1 scoop of rice. The menu was extensive but these were the ones I got to taste: Vegetable Noodle Chicken Teriyaki BBQ Short Ribs Salmon Teriyaki The BBQ short ribs was delicious and the strips of meat were huge. The Kalbi-marinated beef ribs were tender and very tasty. So onolicious and generous in their serving. The salmon teriyaki was another one I enjoyed as I love a good salmon dish. Yummy grilled Atlantic salmon! Hope to make it to the restaurant one day to dine in. I'd like to try their Loco Moco. The prices were affordable. A colleague of mine raved about this place so I called to place an order in advance. After getting no response to several rings, I waited and called back later. The phone continued to ring with no one answering. I called two more times over a period of time and no one answered. I thought perhaps they were closed so I drove down the street which was about five minutes from my place of employment. There was a line of people waiting for their food and a few more in line waiting to order which was a good sign to me. I ordered the Kalua pork which included macaroni salad, and rice. I could smell the smoke from the Kahlúa pork through the closed container, which was placed in a plastic bag; again, all a good sign! When I got to back to work, I opened the container and was a bit disappointed that the scoops of macaroni salad were so small and the rice was also meager. I ordered the Kahlúa pork with cabbage and my first taste was nothing but salt. The second bite was equally salty. I'm suspecting that they drenched the Kalua pork in a liquid smoke of some kind. The sodium was so strong that it literally burned my mouth. For the amount of money I paid plus the tip, I felt forced to eat it but truth be told, I paid a ridiculous amount of money for two pathetic scoops of macaroni salad, and some rice. I had to throw away the pork because I couldn't eat it. Perhaps the other items on the menu are delicious but my Kalua pork was awful. The customer service was not on point, it was inconvenient that I couldn't place an order over the phone but sat in their restaurant about 20 minutes waiting for my food. The location is well...in Woodland. It isn't the best but it also isn't the worst. It's in an industrial corner of Woodland in between other random businesses. The service is also pretty decent. The cashier offered friendly advice on what to get but it did take a while for the food to come out. I don't think this would be a good place to do your homework without distractions. Being my second time coming here, I've noticed that spongebob is ALWAYS playing on the TV, it's a nice little quirk. The prices are great, you can walk out for under $20 for two. They also offer little stamp cards for a free entree after a certain amount of visits. They have a ton of noodle and rice options with meal variations galore. They have few vegetarian/vegan options on the menu besides rice or plain noodles :( The food was pretty good. Slightly above your average noodles but nothing game changing. My dad says, and I quote "the macaroni salad is the best on earth. I've tried many places, even in Europe, and this is the best one". The spicy noodles are VERY SPICY BE WARNED. I just shared a Katsu plate and an order of Honey Chicken Noodles with my family for lunch and it was delicious. The honey chicken especially. He always orders calamari bc it does not have shellfish... we'll they definitely did NOT use clean oil when frying the calamari. Ono is literally less than 250 feet walking distance from my office (until we move to West Sac) and you just can't ignore the delicious BBQ grill smells when walking back and forth between our office/lab buildings across the parking lot. I have since started a stamp card and so far have tried one of the daily lunch specials (teriyaki chicken and pot stickers), chicken teriyaki bowl, beef teriyaki entree, honey chicken. The thai chicken is pretty spicy, as is the spicy chicken (breaded). I haven't yet tried the sesame chicken, katsu, kalua pork or salmon. Unfortunately the macaroni salad has zero taste to me, so I usually sub extra rice instead of mac or green salad. The teriyaki sauce has a big dispenser next to the water for people who can't get enough of the sweet stuff (pro tip: drown the rice in teriyaki!). Two TVs inside while you wait. They also have Hawaiian nectar canned drinks, and other things in the cold case. Generous portions. They actually open pretty early at 10AM. I'm curious about the Korean short ribs, tempura, loco moco and seafood/fish and chips. Too bad they don't have spam musubi on their Hawaiian menu. Phone/call in your order ahead and do NOT bother using the online ordering feature through Yelp, just don't waste your time. Otherwise it does tend to be a bit of a wait during lunchtime. Ono Teriyaki is a little hidden gem in Woodland! It certainly is not in the most obvious location. You'll find it in a business plaza far from any other restaurants. But that really shouldn't stop you from checking this place out. They serve up tasty Japanese and Hawaiian plates at very reasonable prices. Ono Teriyaki can be compared to other quick Japanese/Hawaiian restaurants. They serve chicken and beef teriyaki alongside items like macaroni salad, tempura, and various fried items. It's not gourmet food, but it's certainly food you will enjoy on a lunch break from work or have a hankering for something to fill you up. Everyday there is a couple of items of special that they combo with an appetizer. It's a great deal. On Monday we got the chicken teriyaki with pot stickers. The teriyaki was nicely charred, just the way I like. The pot stickers were of the crunchier variety (not the soft ones). What I really liked was the macaroni salad. It wasn't overdone and swimming in mayo - thanks! The spicy chicken isn't too spicy. It's just breaded and fried chicken with some spicy sauce on the top. It's very common for this dish, and they do a decent job at it. I'd say the only thing lacking on my plate was the little side salad they give you. It was definitely forgettable. The portions were enormous and almost too much to each other my wife had the sesame chicken which was also delicious. There is no ambience here. The tables are a little crooked. There's napkins underneath the corners of the table still a little crooked, but I'm not here for ambience I'm not bringing a dinner date here or anything. I'm here to have a good lunch and let me tell you The service is simple it's big room so there's not much that can go wrong you order the food you sit down they call your name or just bring it to your table and it's made pretty quick but you could tell it is fresh and delicious. I'm not too hip with the combination. This Hawaiian macaroni salad, the lettuce, and the meat and the white rice but man I do love the white rice with some Sriracha sauce and Sriracha sprinkled on the meat.
