It's been 22 days and me and my husband are still in AWE of how well our wedding went!! From the beginning Annie was so supportive and organized that on my wedding day I 100000% trusted her and her team. I wasn't stressed AT ALL. She was very detail oriented and kept up with the due dates in a professional manner. We were juggling family accommodations, moving again (after having JUST moved 2 months prior), school, and work about 1-2 months before the wedding. And let me tell you, in the weeks leading up to the wedding, I had this exact one!!!! Thankfully, nothing even remotely close happened on the actual wedding day, phew!!! I am SO glad that I hired Annie and her services.... anybody who is just starting out on their planning journey thinks that MAYBE they should save the money and skip the wedding planner. DON'T. Annie is worth EVERY penny. From the moment of our initial meeting, I knew that Annie was uber organized, and her many years of experience in the industry was apparent right away. Annie and her team at OEP are the best! I was recently married at Kualoa and was preparing for the day for about a year now. I consider myself a pretty laid-back bride, which for wedding planners could be a good and bad thing. The worst thing bout a laid-back bride is that we don't think a lot of things matter, so when it comes down to decision making a lot of my replies were, "nah, no need," or "do we have to have that? No one will notice, right?" Wrong! So much would have gone wrong/our wedding would have been a disaster if it weren't for Annie guiding us the entire way. There were a million little things that I never would have thought of if Annie weren't there to point them out and keep me on task. She's incredibly organized, always prompt to answer any questions I have at any time of the day, and made sure that I completed things on time. She worked with me to find the right vendors, looked over every contract, was open to every idea I had. I threw a lot of things at her last minute and she was always quick to say, "okay, got it." The days leading up to the wedding were the most stressful, but Annie made sure everyone in the wedding party knew their roles, contacted friends and relatives that volunteered to help to make sure they knew what to do/bring, confirmed everything with every vendor, hired amazing assistants the day of to be there for us in case we needed anything. Justine ran out to buy us ponchos in case it rained and a bunch of spam musubis and waters in case we needed them! It only rained a little the day of, but Annie brought a bunch of umbrellas that we were able to use when it was really coming down. She thought of everything! Everyone at the wedding was able to enjoy themselves because Annie and her team made sure everything ran smoothly the entire day. My husband and I had an amazing wedding day and it was all thanks to OEP for taking care of everything. It was more beautiful than I could ever have imagined and I was able to enjoy myself completely and not have to stress about anything. It all went by so quickly, but thankfully we also hired her husband, Cody Canada, as our videographer at Image Creations. He and his team made us all feel so comfortable in front of the camera (which I thought was impossible to do!) and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us so we can remember our epic day! When it came to planning my wedding, I was probably one of the most anal and OCD brides you could ever imagine.The one thing thing I was sure I did NOT need, was a wedding planner. I couldn't have been more wrong. Hiring Annie and her team was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning process. I met her during a consultation to hire her other company, Image Creations, for our wedding videography. When she explained that she also offered wedding planning services, and described everything she could do to help to assure my dream wedding would become a reality, I decided to hire her. From day one Annie was super organized, knowledgeable, reliable, and super sweet. She responded to all of my neurotic emails, answered my millions of questions, and was always ten steps ahead of me paving my way through obstacles and keeping me on track. She made it easy for me to loosen up and let go of controlling EVERYTHING, which allowed me to enjoy the process. She thought of hundreds of things even my neurotic brain would've never thought to plan for. On the day of my wedding, her assistant, Enna was right there keeping us on schedule and taking care of everything while Annie was at my reception site making sure the set up ran smoothly. She came prepared with a suitcase full of anything I could possibly need, and was right there anytime I needed assistance or a question answered. I really felt like a queen!! I was able to enjoy my time getting ready and making memories instead of worrying about anything. I was completely stress free. When my wife and I were looking for a wedding planner who could help with an expedited wedding date (due to health issues of one our parents), we contacted at least eight wedding planners on the island before hearing about Annie from a friend (always the best recommendation source). After discussing price and what we wanted accomplished, we contracted with Annie and are extremely happy at our decision as she went beyond the call in planning and coordinating our wedding. We only hired her for "day of" services, but she really conducted herself and put in the time as if we paid her for full coordination services. She was with us the entire way to give us sage advice and followups to make sure we were getting everything we needed done properly. Even her husband, Cody, whom we hired for our photography, was great and went beyond the call in offering us various photography shoot times for whatever pictures my wife and I wanted to take. The Canadas were a perfect combination of business services for the wedding my wife and I had at the Halekulani hotel. Even on the day of the wedding, Annie tried to make everything as low-stress as possible, and even went the extra step of getting us items from Long's that we didn't have at the hotel and she didn't even take our money after running to get those items! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding coordinator and photographer and highly recommend Annie if you are looking for a competent, adept, and most of all caring coordinator to take care of your needs from the moment you first meet her up until the post-wedding checkoff items (she even made sure we got reimbursed for vendor services that she noticed were not completed in full during the wedding). Annie Canada, of Oahu Event Planner, and her team, went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. From the beginning, Annie was there to provide advice as well as recommend vendors and other professionals to help us on our day. Though we only hired her services for the "Day of", Annie was there for us for the many months that led up to the wedding. We met with her several times before and she always made sure our timeline was going accordingly so we weren't stressed. What we really appreciated about her services, and why we would recommend her to anyone planning any type of event was all the little touches she worked on that was so thoughtful. Talk about prepared! Oahu Event Planner had multiple kits to help with any emergency of the day. And we had a few..who forgets their own garter? I did! But Annie had one available for us to use (and keep-Thanks for that!) Oahu Event Planner also put together emergency kits for both men and women's bathrooms at our venue. Each kit had all the essentials our guests might've needed which included eye drops, mints, kleenex, feminine products, and all sorts of other "save-the-day" items. Our guests loved them! It was just one of the reasons Oahu Event Planner went out of their way to help and make sure everything went smoothly. Another feature that we loved (and helped) was the fact that Annie's husband, Cody Canada, of Image Creations was our videographer. They worked seamlessly together in a way that made everything on our day go smoothly. Although a bunch of minor issues occurred (what wedding doesn't have those?) , my husband and I had no idea. We were planning our North Shore Oahu wedding from the mainland. My husband's friend, our officiant, recommended we hire Annie from Oahu Event Planner as a "Day Of" Coordinator. My friends and family are very organized designers and do events in Los Angeles and I, myself, am very detailed and had thought of every item that we would need. I knew that hiring a coordinator would help in the event anything went wrong but I wasn't planning on relying heavily on her. CUT TO...I relied more than heavily! Annie and her team are great! I would not only recommend Oahu Event Planner, but I would insist that you hire them! The work she put in was way more than "Day Of". From morning to night, she and her team were as fresh, professional and efficient as if they had been practicing our wedding for years. I can't say enough great things about them! Thank you, Annie, Shari and Alissa! You made our day perfect! UPDATE: After talking to some important guests of mine and finding out new details of some of Annie's comments and behavior from that night, I am afraid I had to change the rating. I still stand behind the fact she made things run seamlessly and that she worked a long day making many moments perfect, however, I think there are some unacceptable things from a day-of coordinator that occured: - the coordinator shouldn't be making public negative comments about the bride's hiring choices with other vendors - the coordinator shouldn't be trying to undermine the bride's chosen design team on table set-up and decorations - the coordinator and her team shouldn't be using our space and our wedding to work on another client's wedding out in the open in front of our guests. Several of our guests commented on it. - the coordinator shouldn't say "that's your job" to one of my vendors when they ask her specifics of where people are entering. In contrast to the feeling I had from our wedding and how beautiful it was and how well it ran, I was disappointed to hear from more than a few people, their interactions with Annie and her team. She runs a very efficient ship and added many details that helped us out that she didn't charge us for and was very gracious about bringing items for us, but the little things can often leave a bad taste. I wish I received better reports about her teamwork with my design team. Our design team has worked in LA with billionaires and their events for many years. They are also used to working as a team with vendors and they didn't get that feeling while working with her (though they did feel team spirit with the other local vendors). read more
