I'm making this review in hopes to reach out to fellow bird owners who also lost their feathered baby . I contacted several crematory places here in Oahu, in hopes that they could do a memorable clay foot print for our bird, and out of all the places that replied, only Oahu Pet Crematory said they had this service available. This meant so much to us especially when I know things such as clay prints are more normalized for pet dogs / cats, so I am beyond grateful that Oahu Pet Crematory provided this service for our little one. Unfortunately our other bird we lost before this, we weren't even given the option for a clay print (as we went through the vet), so I regret not contacting Oahu Pet Crematory directly before , as we could've had our other baby's too. I'd like to personally thank the team at Oahu Pet Crematory. We knew that our childhood dog was ready to leave earth soon and they have been SO SUPPORTIVE from the beginning and especially all the way through the end. They were originally coordinating with our vet and answered all the questions that we had through them. Our initial appointment was for August 9th, but our sweet boy passed on August 1st in the middle of the night. I called as soon as they opened at 7 AM, got a drop off appointment for 10 AM, and he was ready for pick up by 12:30 PM. All of the staff was so kind and made the process go so smoothly for us. Oahu Pet Crematory offers several services, I chose private viewing. It is the closure that I need. I have used Oahu Pet Crematory's services in the past when my two hens passed away, they were my Xena (Warrior Princess') of the yard. My soul dog would be flanked by the sisters as they did their early morning patrol and they would briefly sun themselves together afterwards. He helped me to raise them, and they, like all the animals we have taken in to rehab or foster, fell in love with him. Oahu Pet Crematory has made great improvements since 2017. The young lady working the morning of my appointment was very nice, and eased my anxiety. They now have a much stronger and faster unit, and they provide an air conditioned room with direct sight of your loved one, as well as tissues. I was given a beautiful box with a desiccant to take him home in. They also provided grief pamphlets, wildflower seeds to grow in your garden in your pets memory, as well as a certificate. There is also an onsite cat named Tux. He is a very handsome kitty. I almost started crying again, and he was very sweet. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for Collin and Chris, and for all their help. My baby bun passed away on a Sunday night, they took her in the following morning, and I was able to pick her up Tuesday morning. I was a mess when I brought her, and Collin was very understanding and helped me through the process the entire time(even gave me a few moments to gather myself). I didn't realize you needed to make an appointment to p/u their ashes. I just knew p/u was between 10am-3pm. I arrived at 10:30am. Chris was kind enough to let me take her home, and thankfully my plaque arrived at the same time. Pricing was a lot more affordable than what I thought it would be. Altogether my bill came out to a little over $300. I had her cremated solo, chose an urn w/a magnetic picture, and added a plaque with a personalized engraving. I highly recommend their business!!! Oahu Pet Crematory made this process so easy and efficient. I originally emailed for a quote, which they responded to quickly, then called and made a same-day appointment. We dropped off our pet and scheduled a pick-up for 2 days later (I'm not sure the soonest for pick-up but that's what worked for our availability). They provide a complimentary tin urn inside a velvet bag, a certificate, poem, and resources for pet loss support. The staff were wonderful and so respectful. I did my research and their prices seem to be the most affordable on O'ahu. We were coming from the Westside so it was a bit of a drive but it was so worth it. Okay guys, if you need a cremation service for your beloved pet I would highly recommend this place. Oahu Pet Crematory is partnered with my local vet, PetVet in Salt Lake, so when I made an emergency call to my vet about my dogs sudden passing we were able to bring him in right away and have an almost-private discussion about his care. Through the tears and grief we were able to set up a cremation service with our vet who then told these details to Oahu Pet Crematory. We were asked if we wanted to shave a lock of his hair, we said no (that was the grief and brain fog speaking), and if we wanted a plaque of his pawprint, to which we said yes. The company charges per weight so we paid roughly 240.00 after taxes for everything and paid at the vets office. The hardest part is saying goodbye of course but we were allowed about 15 minutes to say our last sentiments and give hugs and kisses before he was carried to the back. We were able to pick up his ashes about three days later, so quick turnaround? Yes! That allowed us to fill a sort of hole at home by having his presence around. It also allowed our other dogs to grieve properly and heal as they got to smell him. In the bag along with his ashes were (1) his pawprint, (2) his collar (which we forgot to remove, again brain fog), and (3) a lock of hair in a bag!! I look at his hair every so often and remember vivid memories of him, truly a gift that could never be repaid -- so thank you to Oahu Pet Crematory. We also received informational cards about pet loss, local services offered, and a packet of flower seeds! Although I did plant them and still no flowers, maybe its me haha? All-in-all we still have a piece of our hearts missing but we are at peace knowing he is home safe with us, in one way or another. FPO's eleven-year-old Arowana, Baby Girl passed away on January 27th, 2018. The loss of a beloved pet is never easy but like all loved ones lost it is process that can be made easier when you have support and sympathy from people who understand the difficulties inherent with saying goodbye. I'd never had a pet die at home. Both of my Bichon boys (Ikaika and Iniki) were at VERC and the faculty and staff there handled the cremations for me. Thus, I called VERC and learned that they'd recently switched crematory companies and worked with Oahu Pet Crematory. It was after hours for Oahu Pet Crematory on a Saturday but I was encouraged by the staff at VERC to try calling, in case someone might be working late. This was my first introduction to the people at Oahu Pet Crematory and the dedication they have to their service. Not only was someone (Chris) working late, she picked up phone and was very understanding and helpful. Over the next few days FPO and I coordinated with Oahu Pet Crematory to get and then pick up Baby Girl's remains and again and again they went above and beyond. Located on Kipapa Quarry Place in a rather difficult to find industrial area off Kipapa Quarry Road in Kailua they were a far, far distance from both home and work so in order to get there we had to show up after their usual closing time of 3:00pm. Extremely accommodating, someone waited for us every time. The first time we tried to find them they gave us BaliBoo as a landmark, which did not help us at all and we got so lost. Suffice it to say, if you can find Todd Branson Stoneworks, you're in the right area. Call them and they can get you the final hundred or so yards As a small exotic Baby Girl's cremation cost a little over $90. When we got her back she was in a small metal box with a velvet bag and she had a cremation certificate. Oahu Pet Crematory has a very difficult job and the staff there does it with caring, understanding, and the utmost professionalism. The services they provide aren't so much a want as a need. I don't think anybody would want to do business with them but if anyone has the need, they can rest assured they would be in good hands. read more

Ok, first review of 2018?? Really? Well, this is the perfect place to start my awesome reviews then! Ahem ahem... VERC recommended OPC and so glad we called them. They cremated my Baby Girl (Jardini Arowana fish). They considered her an exotic, so to cremate her and have her ashes returned was $90.51 tax included. They were very accommodating and we dropped her off yesterday afternoon (after hours). Yes! They were sooo thoughtful and waited for us cause I had a long commute to get to them. We of course got lost and we called her 2x to get directions to find out where they were exactly. There are sooo many buildings and they're towards the back. If you go on Kipapa Quarry ROAD, then turn onto Kipapa Quarry PLACE. There's that funky triangle patch of gravel median at the beginning of Kipapa Quarry Place. When it turns into one road, continue kinda slowly as the entrance to their driveway is immediately after the fence line on the right! There's 2 driveways after the fence line, stay on the right side with the black rubber speed bumps... the left side is for coming back out. You're gonna see Todd Branson Stoneworks on the right and I think Ikaika Builders. Go past TBS and there are those big military metal dome looking hut thingys. I forget what wifey called them, but I keep wanting to call them quazimoto huts. Anyways, go between the first two and then take the left afterwards. OPC is on the left side across the old car repair shop (of course I forgot their name, but there was a BMW sign inside their door). To get back out, you continue and make 2 lefts, then a right, and stay on the right side with the cement speed bumps. I think Chris was the one that we (mostly wifey) spoke to and she welcomed us inside. She was very sympathetic and kept asking if we needed more time with BG while taking down our info. She took BG to the back to weigh her and when she came back, she exclaimed that BG was a whopping 2 lbs! She also stated that it was a nice surprise and a bit refreshing to see a cherished pet fish being cremated. Not jus the typical dog or cat. They didn't think there were going to be much ashes left, but they'll do their best to keep as much as possible. She mentioned that they should be finished by the next day and someone would call when she's ready to go home. I jus so happened to be in Kailua when Temihani (sp?) called and left a message that BG was ready to come home. Ohh I have been anxiously waiting for this call and couldn't wait to finish my errand and pick her up! After my errands, I called her back to tell her I'd be there in about 15mins. I got there a little before they closed and was met by Temihani and a guy. She handed me a small lil plastic bag that had a velvet pouch with a tin container (BG inside), a certificate of cremation, and a book marker with a recycled paper heart and The Rainbow Bridge story on it. They told me that they were surprised that there were a lot of bones in BG and said there were more ashes than they expected. There's about 1/8 cup worth of BG that now weighs an ounce or two. Now I get to make a nice box for her. Thank you guys soooo much for taking care of BG for me and treating her with respect. I totally appreciate all of you! A hui hou! read more

My doggy passed & we decided on cremation.. OPC was the first to pop up on yelp so I gave them a call. The woman who answered was very friendly and sincere. She answered all my questions and gave us a few options. When I asked about purchasing an urn she recommended holding off and not make any decisions right now since she could tell I was still distressed about losing my Puka Girl. I really appreciated that, since I wanted to take the time to choose something special and not feel rushed to choose something in order to make a deadline. They were able to accommodate me within the hour, I was able to drop her off directly. Around the same time the next day I got a call saying I could pick her up. Her remains came in a nice flowery tin along with a certificate and some lovely words of comfort. My beloved dog Darla sadly was hit by a truck early one morning and the driver took off. She died in my arms and I was completely devastated to say the least. I never had to use a service like this before but I am glad I found them. After my baby girl had passed I looked online for this type of service. The place was a little tricky to find and they did open about a half hour late but the overall experience was outstanding considering the circumstances. The lady there was very kind and she allowed me to take my time saying good bye to my wonderful four legged best friend. I came by the next day and they took good care of her. She was in a little tin and wrapped in a felt bag. It took me quite a bit of time to come to terms with my loss but at least I could care for my Darla the best way possible. I see that other people complain about this place not answering, etc. I didn't have that problem, I brought my dog straight to the VCA hospital on Christmas morning 12/25/17 and they kept my newly deceased dog there until Oahu Pet Crematory came to pick him up. In 48 hours, the remains was returned to me in a beautiful bag along with some other memorabilia, like my dog's paw print in clay, a dog angel pin, a death certificate, and the Rainbow Bridge poem, free of charge. This is my second post on this company. The first post, I was not happy! The company and my vet. deserves this post and rating. My beloved dog #5 (Pepe) was put down on Monday 7/23/18 after 14 yrs. I decided to have him cremated, and have my veterinarian clinic take care of things. To my amazement, I got a call on Friday that same week 7/27 my dogs ashes was ready for pick up. I inquired with my veterinarian of 25 yrs about pet erns, she replied that OPC places ashes in a beautiful canister and bag and may not need to purchase a ern, or can be done at a later date. I called them on the morning of the Martin Luther King Holiday 2019 and Thank God for Oahu Pet Crematory. Our beloved family pet passed away overnight and I needed to to take care of him as soon as possible. I left a message on their answering machine overnight and got a call back from Ms.Donna first thing in the a.m. She was so caring and got the process started for me. I was provided with instructions and immediately drove our pet to their Kailua, Hi location. I met with Ms. Chris in their office and was put at ease with her caring, compassionate and kind care. She's a great lady and I knew our pet was in good hands. When I pass on, I hope the funeral counselor at the "human" mortuary is as compassionate as her so my family would feel comforted and at ease as I felt. After our beloved dog died at home we took her to Feather and Fur and asked for her to be cremated. The turnaround was very quick and we received her ashes back in a metal tin inside of a nicely embroidered velvet bag along with a couple of very sweet poems all inside a white shopping bag that said "Forever in our hearts" which was very touching during a difficult time. The care and professionalism with the entire process as well as the packaging was very appreciated and I would definitely recommend Oahu Pet Crematory for anyone dealing with the loss of their cherished pet. I unfortunately had to use the services of Oahu Pet Crematory twice. However both times I received very compassionate service. This more recent encounter, the date on the urn was incorrect. Without hesitation they were willing to make the change. On my way to taking the urn in for the correction I had the urn in my hand and my son accidently knocked it out of my hand causing it to fall, ruining two corners of the urn. It made me sick that it got damaged. After turning in the urn to VCA so Oahu Crematory could pick it up, I received a phone call. Oahu Crematory noticed the urn was damaged and said they would replace it free of charge. They went above and beyond what they needed to do. I was so touched!!
