We needed to board our cat Boy-san (his secret identity). His vet and staff suggested the Cat's Meow Inn (CMI). I called and had a very pleasant and informative conversation with Heather, owner of CMI. Immediately, I had a sense of peace of mind that Boy-san would be well taken care of. Heather talked about the correct type of food dish for our cat. And that CMI was a DNA (dogs not allowed) zone (not quite her words). What cat wants to hear barking dogs all day? She said Boy-san would have his own condo; not cooped up in a wire cage 24/7. He would have his own memory foam 4 post bed. Heather even gave me tips on how to administer his monthly topical treatment. It works! No more 50th State Big Time Wrestling with Boy-san at treatment time. We set up a drop off time for Boy-san. Drop offs and pick ups are from 4:00 am to noon. An eight hour window. We dropped off Boy-san at 6:00 am in his carrier along with his food supply and feeding instructions. Uncle Jamie met us curbside and carefully took Boy-san into CMI. So easy! During our time away from Hawaii, Heather sent me daily updates and pics of Boy-san relaxing in his bed or exploring the Keebler Elf Tree. Peace of mind. Before returning to Hawaii, I set up Boy-san's pick up time. Like the drop off this was done curbside. Uncle Jamie handed the carrier and left over food to me. So easy! Leaving your pets when you go on vacation can be stressful - for both you and your pet. But NOT when your fur babies are lodged at the Cat's Meow Inn! This was our first experience with Heather and Jamie, and I'm beating myself up for not finding them sooner. Not only were our three cats given luxurious multi-level cat condos to stay in (including memory foam beds, air conditioning, music, and fish/bird television), they were given individual attention 24/7 during their entire stay. Heather even texted me photos and updates while we were gone, just to reassure me that the girls were doing great. Working with Heather up to the day we brought them in was easy; she's a great communicator. You know immediately that caring for cats is her passion. Prior to finding the Cat's Meow Inn, my cats boarded at various veterinarian's offices - while I knew they were safe, I wasn't crazy about them being in cages and left alone at night. And with all the attention and luxury afforded to their cat clients, the Cat's Meow Inn is LESS expensive than those vets' offices. I also appreciated that Heather is very careful about making sure that all their cat guests are up to date on their vaccinations and flea treatments so that you know that your cats aren't going to come home with any problems. My cats received excellent care during their two-week stay with Heather and Jamie (they were spoiled, actually). With the combination of leaving my cat alone for the first time since I adopted her and the anxiety of traveling during a pandemic, I can honestly say I couldn't have made a better choice for my sweet Azula Heather was extremely attentive, fast and efficient in her communication and an all around sweetheart. She truly made me feel at ease during my travels and was constantly sending me pictures of my sweet girl. Azula always looked calm and at ease and she is not known to be the most chill creature at most times so it was extremely reassuring. If you live in Hawaii and you need to put your cat into boarding, I couldn't recommend anywhere else but here. From the four poster memory foam beds for the kitties, to the bird tv and sounds they could watch, this was truly a luxury experience ... without a crazy price tag. Heather is great! The cats meow inn is the perfect place to have piece of mind while on vacation. Heather is truly a special soul who cares about your baby the way you do. I had my pueo stay here while I was on vacation in Tahiti for 10 days. Heather was great with communication leading up to the drop off. She answered every question I had and was very helpful with everything. I knew when I brought Pueo in that he was in good hands. The place was clean and the cats looked happy and relaxed. Heather emailed me updates daily which made me feel great knowing my baby was well taken care of. I picked up pueo yesterday and he was very loving towards heather which made me know she had really bonded with him. I would definitely use the cat's meow inn again. Where to begin... my little fur baby had a rough start to life. He was found when he was just a few days old and nursed back to health and then isolated due to illness until we adopted him... he's now six months old and the sweetest little boy but, he's never been out of the house and/or around other people. We were a bit nervous about going away and leaving him for TWO weeks... especially not knowing how he'd react to a strange environment. I called every boarding place on Oahu and wasn't overly thrilled with my options, especially because they were all cat/dog facilities and our neighbors dog makes him spazzy. Most places were $30+ with stacked metal cages. Then I happened to come across a place called The Cat's Meow Inn... after speaking with Heather, the owner, my worries subsided. She's just as quirky as I tend to be about the well being of my kitty. So I went out on a limb and entrusted her with the well-being of Alfredo. Best. Decision. Ever! I received daily updates with the sweetest pictures. Alfredo had a room to himself with a memory foam kitty-bed, his toys, private ensuite litter box area, playtime, bird tv, spa music, air conditioning and NO dogs! He seemed super relaxed and acclimated to his vacation home when we arrived to pick him up. I wish I could give 10 stars! I can go on and on about how safe it is, the impeccable job she does with keeping the "spa" clean, that it's cheaper than every other place on island, how there are multiple cats with zero cat smell, the adorable pictures she sends that are Insta-Heaven, how she goes above and beyond to make sure your kitty feels safe and stays healthy, her professionalism, how she handles crazy cat moms, and the sweetest parting gift ever! My wife and I moved to Honolulu a few months ago and it took some time for us to settle in and get used to a new place. It took even longer for our kitty, Zoso, to adjust. So, when a trip to the Big Island came up, we were very hesitant to leave our baby behind and board him at an unfamiliar place. Trusting Zoso's well being to Heather at The Cat's Meow Inn turned out to be a fantastic decision. The kitty condo setup is great. They are multi-tiered and roomy. There's spa music, interactive toys, a TV that plays action movies of squirrels, birds and other classic cat cinema favorites, and an awesome tree that kitties can romp on during solo play time. When your cat stays at The Cat's Meow Inn you'll get picture updates every day from Heather and she will make sure your kitty's feeding times, meds and other routines are followed exactly like home. The facility is very clean and secure, and so is the process. There are some detailed requirements you'll need to fulfill before your furbaby can enjoy his or her vacation stay, which I very much appreciated. Heather's attention to detail was something that immediately made me relax and feel like Zoso would be well cared for. Heather herself is incredible friendly, kind and comforting from the moment you talk with her. I inquired about Cat's Meow Inn online and she called me the next day to let me know all about her place and to learn more about our family. I ended up chatting with her for an hour about many things (including restaurants!) just because I enjoyed talking to her. :-) My wife and I hoped to find a secure, loving place for Zoso to stay whenever we go on a trip. We wanted to leave him in the hands of someone who truly adores cats and wants them to be as content as possible while their owners are away. As newbies to Honolulu, we didn't know what we should expect. Heather is so attentive and caring, and it's such a quiet and calming environment for the kitties. Wouldn't leave my kitty with anyone else - she's so skittish, she'd do absolutely terrible at other boarders, who are stressful, loud, and cold. Cat's Meow is more affordable than other places too, and it honestly looked, felt, and smelled like a spa walking in - it's the obvious choice. When I brought my cat home, she was back to business as usual - comfy and loafing. When my husband and I were planning our honeymoon, I knew we had to have the best care for our then 3.5-month old kitten, Cayenne. I didn't want to leave him at home the whole time we were gone and just have family/friends come by for a few hours at a time to feed/play with him. Individual 6-story custom cat condos with bird TV, numerous toys to play with, clean rooms, AND 24-hour AC? How could we go wrong?! Heather was so welcoming when we dropped Cayenne off. I was sad leaving him, but Heather delivered many photos while we were away, as promised, so we knew he was having the time of his life there!
