Bigger than it looks, I promise!

I strongly recommend Oak Bay Seafood for a take-away seafood feast in Victoria! Well cooked crab, plump oysters, tasty salmon bites, addictive zucchini fries (Friday night special, I believe), loaded chowder, and generous portion of popcorn shrimp. And everything is gluten-free--WOW! Can't beat this value!

Nothing in this photo....all eaten and totally enjoyed!!

OMG!! Not only is this the BEST fish and chip place in town - the big secret is that it's gluten free and night shade free! There were two pieces of crispy halibut and 8 deep fried oysters in our order...but we were too hungry to take a picture. Everything was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I preordered and my order was ready on time with very friendly staff. There is limited seating and many of the tables were full when I went in. Will be snapping pictures of our next take out order ;). I would highly recommend and totally for celiac or gluten intolerance. Yum!

Enjoyed the fish and chips. Although it has been some time since I've been in last- need to revisit and try again!

Best place in town for fish and chips, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Its gets busy but once you try it you'll understand why.

So good! Highly recommend the fish and chips. Some of the best ones I've had. The tartar sauce is amazing.

I just got back from a grocery run at Thrifty's, and it's clear that COVID-19 has transformed…read moresomething so simple and routine into a new experience altogether. I highly commend Thrifty's (and its conglomerate, Empire Co. Ltd.) for its swift response in promoting health and safety in its store. Some noticeable changes to enforce social distancing: - Reserved shopping time at 7am-8am for seniors and immunocompromised customers - Marked lines to indicate where 6 ft is for customers lining up outside the store and at the cashier area - Limited number of customers allowed in the store, as monitored by a staff member at the door (one entrance/exit only) - Sanitized shopping carts given directly to the customer outside of the door - One-way aisles, as marked by arrows on the floor - Plexiglas cashier shields, gloves, and sanitizing spray bottles to protect cashiers For more popular items like eggs and produce, Thrifty's has also placed signs limiting customers to the quantity that can be purchased. I was actually very impressed with how well-stocked the shelves were. With emotions running high as uncertainty sinks in, this is undeniably a trying time now for many people. However, it's important that we appreciate those in the service industry who continue to go to work to ensure that our lives can function as normally as possible in the circumstances. On that note: to the two staff members monitoring the door and providing shopping carts, thank you again for your warm smiles and friendly conversation despite the long hours worked. I wish I had gotten both of your names, but in any case, I see you and I appreciate you.

I then said to the Service Rep that I would prefer to make an appointment, rather thsn just drop in. Petra told the Service Rep that she would be available at 3pm tge next day to call me. I provided my name and telephone number to the Rep and confirmed that Patra was to call me at 3pm today. Guess what happened? 3pm and NO CALL ftom Petra. 3:15pm and still no call. So when I came back with my bestie, there was no question that we had to stop here for brunch. When we arrived, we kept walking because I couldn't find the restaurant, and I was getting pretty disappointed. Then I realized they were repairing the roof, so the sign had been removed. The portions are huge! I ate until I was completely full, yet my plate still looked like I had barely touched it. Since we were staying at a hotel, we couldn't take the leftovers with us, so they ended up being shared with the seagulls. The service was absolutely wonderful--friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming. I'm pretty sure it's family-operated because you can feel that family atmosphere among the staff. The view is beautiful, with stunning water and city scenery that makes the experience even better. If you're gluten-free, especially if you have celiac disease and miss enjoying great fish and chips, this is definitely the place for you. Highly recommended!

I got a small salmon chowder which was good but a little too much potatoes for my preference. My halibut taco was also a tad dry and just ok. My cousin ended up getting the fish & chips with a medium chowder which comes with bread. The fish & fries were really good actually. Juicy fish and the fries were fresh and just potatoes. Definitely order that. She said the oysters were good as well but we didn't get to try this time.
