When our son arrived at Oak Forest, we were scared, exhausted, and unsure of what the future would look like. From the very beginning, the staff made us feel like we weren't alone. They treated our son with kindness, patience, and respect, while also holding him accountable in the ways he needed. What impressed us most was how experienced and knowledgeable everyone was. You could tell they genuinely cared about the every client and weren't just doing a job. Throughout his time there, communication with our family was excellent. The team took the time to answer questions, provide updates, and help us understand what our son was going through. We always felt calm and that he was in good hands. No program can magically fix everything, but Oak Forest gave our son a foundation to build on and gave our family hope during a very difficult time. We are incredibly grateful to the staff for the care they showed him and for the support they gave us as parents. And still give as we go to support meetings that they offer for free. If I had not been blessed to go to Oak Forest, I doubt I would stay sober today. I stayed in their in patient rehab facility for 90 days, and stayed in their sober living for a few more months. They really care about you, and they make you get a sponsor. Typical day when I was inpatient was to go to a recovery meeting, gym right after, and after class you go to another recovery meeting. Please read before you go!! If you are the main bread winner of your house hold and have the only income for your family , do NOT go there! My husband was there for a month and never filled edd or medical disability for him to get paid . They played games and resulted him leaving him early because they didn't do their job. It's not a family base recovery like they say. They can give two craps about the family with keeping in touch , paper work, letting you know what's going on etc. some people are Great and some play games.example when picking up my husband,we asked for his property (wallet, phone) and the gentleman smiled and said yeah I'll think about it for a few days. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. They stole my money. My brother stayed at this house for less than four days, I paid the whole $3000 deposit over Zelle up front for one month's stay. My brother was very sick and needed to be hospitalized, he couldn't stay at this place. It wasn't his fault that he had to leave, I was told I would get a prorated refund. They didn't give me back anything. They even knew I was just out of college and this was a lot of my savings and they took it anyway. They are absolutely fine with taking advantage of families in desperate situations. If you are in the unfortunate situation of having to use this place, pay on a credit card so that you can get your money back when they defraud you. Vey sketchy people staying there who were dealing drugs, even while claiming they were trying to get sober. STAY AWAY!!! Run as fast as you can away from these unethical, scummy thieves. read more

I came into oak forest back in 2019 to help get me sober. I made real connections with people and grew so much while I was in the house. I've watched this house help so many other people who are struggling especially people who are close to me. I am now a staff member here and get to help people do the same things staff was doing for me when I came in. To watch as people recover is truly a miracle in itself. I truly believe I wouldn't be where I'm at today with Oak Forest and especially RJ. oak forest saved my life. I have never been to a structured 12 step program before oak forest. In fact , I didn't know such a place existed until I got here. The consistent daily meetings and emphasis on the importance of working the steps single handedly saved me. Nothing else worked for me. I had a relapse and my family had contacted tyson the house manager. The fact that Tyson and the staff were consistently checking on me with my family after care really displays what type of people are here at oak forest. The next day Tyson and Patrick were at my house doing a 12 step intervention. Did they need to go out of their way to do that? No, but when people actually care and love you that's what that looks like. I have never been around staff and management that actually care and are in it for the right reasons. Tyson, Patrick, kj, have all positively impacted my life and led by example. I came to Oak Forest completely broken and lost in life. My disease of addiction had taken my self respect, self esteem, and my soul and the only thing I had left to lose was my life. Being desperate I reached out to OFR and asked them to help me, willing to go to any lengths necessary to save my life. From my first phone call to my last therapy session after 90 days I was treated with the utmost respect and provided with the highest level of care imaginable. Their clinical staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional, empathetic, caring, and only had 1 goal in mind, to help me help myself and give me the most solid foundation for a recovery that will hopefully last a lifetime.
