This is significantly more work that is now required because of his team's carelessness. He never mentioned this to me and it only came up after he charged me a ridiculously high cost to rebuild our 150 sq foot deck and I requested a second and third opinion and this damage was found by other contractors. When I brought up the damage to him, he responded in an extremely unprofessional manner and started cursing at the other contractors. He then told me the floor joist replacement would be covered only if we went with him for the rebuild, there would be no partial refund or payment from the demolition itself. He then said I would have to hire a structural engineer for the rebuild and I would be responsible for paying that engineer and the expected cost would be several thousand dollars. Nevertheless we will not be recommending Saul and SAO construction to anyone who cares about quality work and value.
