So finding good food in and around Keuka Lake takes some time. There are a ton of greasy spoons or places that are chains. Oak Leaf is a true gem. They offer fresh baked cookies, pies, sandwhiches and so much more. If your party has Gluten Allergies, they also offer Gluten Free Bread as an option. Their breakfasts are awesome. We love coming here... a quaint little cafe right on 14A south of Penn Yan. The way it works is... You come in and walk right up to the counter where you will find menus or if you look up, a chalk board menu. You then proceed to give your order, pay and receive a table number, unless you are ordering take out. When your order is ready it will be taken to your table. On the far side wall, you will find water, sugars, half and half and crackers for soups on the top shelf, glasses and take-home containers for any left overs on the bottom shelf. The utensils are to the left of where you stand to give your order. When you are done eating, you may place your cups, glasses, utensils and/or plates inside the bin that is to the left of where the utensils are. There is a garbage can located there as well. The lattes are reasonably priced and can be very, very good depending on who prepares them. Sometimes the lattes are right on point; sometimes they are lukewarm, weak, have too much foam or are prepared looking nothing like the pictures advertised... so it's hit or miss. I must say, though, that if you are not satisfied with any drink, they are quick to oblige. The paninis are made on artisan breads and are very tasty. The fruit smoothies are a treat. In the cafe, there is a bakery case with cookies, fry pies and donuts. But more fresh baked goods can be found in the bulk food store, such as chocolate, pumpkin, oatmeal sometimes red velvet and carrot whoopie pies, fruit pies (individual size and large), biscotti, more fry pies, lemon bars, chocolate creme bars, more cookies, cinnamon rolls and other baked sweets and breads all of which taste really good. The girls at the counter are quite pleasant. The cafe gets full rather quickly, so seating is limited. There are plans to expand, though. There is free wi-fi and some seating outside. In the warmer months, on Saturdays, there is a designated area with seating selling very delicious BBQ chicken and sides. The cafe is connected to Oak Hill bulk foods and deli. There is a myriad of bulk foods to buy and a large variety of deli meats and cheeses. There are also many local products such as honey, eggs, fudge, maple syrup, soaps, coffee, etc. There is a designated area for wild birds with a variety of feeders and feed. Quite often you'll find a horse-drawn buggy in the parking lot. Definitely, a nice spot to experience. The earlier the better before it gets full. Usually everything on the menu can be served early on. read more

So I still love Oak Hill Cafe and store! In the summer I needed alot of cookies and ordered them here. They were as close to my own baking I could get. Their price made it affordable for me (and a huge help) and for a few more dollars I had them put them in the sleeves so guests could travel with them. We have come here for years for spices and bulk goods and now we never come without visiting the Cafe! Every thing is wonderful and most often visit in afternoon from Henrietta! We were here this week about 2pm and I just wasn't in the mood for a sandwich and decided to try their sausage gravy and biscuit ! My oh my I may never get past this dish again! The wife and I made one of our usual trips to Oak Hill for a few staples and a few treats. There are many of both from which to choose, from baking supplies, rubs, rice, and dried herbs to jelly beans, gummy bears, hard candies, pop corn and more. There is fresh baked bread, cookies, and pastries, beef, pork and chicken. There are canning supplies. And there is a deli. Everything is outstanding and the service is friendly and helpful. This place is a must if you are in the Penn Yan area!! read more

Great spot for a lunch. Soups and ant sandwich will fill you up. I'm won't mention the pastry case, it is to die for!
