The staff here have genuine heart. They are kind, attentive, and consistently go above and beyond for their residents. Our loved one resides in memory care, and while this stage of life can be emotional, the Claremont Place team has made the journey feel lighter. The caregivers, Med Techs, administrative staff, dining staff, maintenance, laundry, and everyone in between are intuitive, patient, and treat residents with the dignity and warmth you hope for when you entrust someone you love to another persons care. Management is honest, respectful, and responsive. Any concern is met with clear communication and prompt follow through, and their experience working with older adults is evident in the way they anticipate needs before they become issues. It feels like a true partnership. They also bring joy to daily life. Holidays and celebrations are handled with thoughtful intention, and the food and activities create a sense of home and community. We visit often, but it brings real peace knowing we do not have to. Our loved one is in very good hands. We are genuinely grateful for the team at Claremont Place and the care they continue to provide.

My mom moved into assisted living at Claremont Place about two and a half months ago. She has her…read moreown room, kitchenette, and bathroom and two closets. In her room, she has a single bed, a large recliner, a dresser, two large chairs and a small desk for her computer with a chair. She has a nice big window with a view of the garden that she can see from her chair. With all this in the room, she still has lots of space to maneuver her walker safely and get to the window and her air handler to make herself comfortable. The food is very good. We eat there often with my mom. Most of the servers make an effort to remember my mom's preferences and they bring her what she wants before she even asks. Staff is attentive, concerned and proactive. The front desk is a hub for all information and if they don't know the answer, they follow up. I will post more updates in the months to come. What a job. You never have to return telephone calls. If this facility cannot return a phone call, I am suspect of what type of medical care they are giving to their patients. If you do have family there, and have issues, please call the LA County Ombudsman's office at (800) 334-9473. You can also contact the Medical Board of California www.mbc.ca.gov to file a complaint. Claremont Manor is a special place which has the benefit of providing almost every kind of senior care & housing you could imagine. It is staffed by administrators who are friendly, caring and approachable. They and the auxiliary staff make our stay here happy and enjoyable. So much so that they made us feel more like friends than residents. Front office, food, services, and staff are most professional, helpful, and caring and go above and beyond expectations. From securing prescriptions from a local pharmacy to providing on-site nursing care, our friend is receiving exemplary care, understanding, patience, and skilled services along with exercise and educational classes, and transportation to local markets, downtown Claremont, and surrounding areas.

The grounds are well kept and everyone from the landscapers, the cleaners, to the medical personnel walking to and from are always so pleasant. They, as well as other residents, always seem to take a moment and give a friendly hello. From what I hear, the services provided by the Gardens fit the desires of our friends who reside here. Another wonderful plus is that the Gardens is a pet friendly community! I visited them a couple times and was able to meet the Owner, Coordinators, the caretakers, the cook, all the helpers I just knew that they stood out far beyond any others I went to. First thing that stood out was how immaculate everything was and it smelled so fresh and clean. This was very important for me if my mom going to live here. They gave me a tour of facility and the living quarters where my mom would stay. She has her own bedroom whom she shares with a wonderful roommate. They were very careful about matching mom's roommate, so they carefully introduced my mom to a few ladies and we found the perfect one. My mom has been her for 3 years and she loves it. They even have a program where a bus picks up the residents that are able, to have fun filled days dancing, singing, doing crafts, then the bus brings them back. They are very involved with many onsite activities. They have lots of parties, holiday parties too, they bring in musicians/bands so they can dance and enjoy, bbqs, dress up..etc. I just had to share my experience with anyone looking for a place for mom or dad. Dementia again has impacted our family, my dear Auntie is suffering with this horrible disease now. You do not send your family member here to live and thrive you send them here to suffer andie. This facilities owner only cares about the financial bottom line and does not provide the care promised when you drop off your loved one 2) residents are routinely neglected and their personal hygiene is non existent ! They are not groomed daily, have their teeth brushed daily or bathed daily. Although they claim they are ! 3) the staff here has a true heart for the residents. They truly try to give the best care to them but when the owner and management does NOT provide the appropriate tools and necessities needed to provide the care expected even the best intentions fall short. 4) the building is old, dirty and unkempt. Mold, feces, bed bugs and trash riddles the floors of this facility. 5) the management and owner keep the truth from both authorities and families here. They give the run around for any question you might have of your loved ones and of any reports of negligence, abuse or violence in the facility. If I could give a ZERO star to the office manager Charlie Lopez I would do so…read more I have tolerated Charlie's rudeness and unprofessionalism only because my father loves his caregiver Mary who happens to be a very compassionate person and whose work ethic is admirable. In Oct 2025 I called Charlie around 11pm to let her know we tested positive for Covid, this way she wouldn't send the caregiver, until we were clear. She said: "I never answer calls at this time, specially if I do not recognize the number! Call during office hours" I literally had to match her tone of voice for her to change hers. In December I called the office to find out if my father's hours had been approved for 2026. Mary, an office worker, said they had been approved and that Mary the caregiver, would resume her schedule after Jan 1st. Which would be on Monday Jan 5th. Well, caregiver never showed up. Charlie's excuse was that we never spoke on a new schedule. I told her, I had done my part when I called her office in December. I told Charlie she should've called me before the year ended instead of leaving me hanging without a caregiver. We ended up taking more than one hour for her to set my father's schedule for EVERY Monday & Thursday. During this time she kept complaining of a new system that was recently installed. I asked her how far would my father's hours go into the year. She said she would call me back to let me know. Guess what? She NEVER called me back. So on Thursday Jan 22nd, again, the caregiver never showed up. I called the office and Charlie said: "Mary called me at 5am to tell me she wasn't scheduled with your dad. I told her not to show up because if you didn't approve the day/hrs she would have to go back home and then we (agency) would have to pay her two hours on our end." To which I replied: "What do you mean, I wouldn't approve the day & hrs? We had established an all Monday & Thursday schedule remember? I cannot have these no-show's happening. I leave my home thinking Mary will be there to help my mom care for my father (who is bedridden, late stages of dementia, Parkinson's, HBP, etc) and I came home to find out Mary never showed up!" Once again I had to match her tone of voice! I told Charlie that this was very unprofessional of her. You have already left me without a caregiver twice (without any notice). I made it clear to Charlie that I had no issue if she called me at 3am, 5am or at any time for that matter, when it's concerning my father's care. She straight up responded with a rude tone saying: "I am not calling anyone at that time! We don't want anyone who is unhappy to be with us, so find another agency!" I said Ok. Then, right away she replied: "I am removing all of Mary's hours and giving them to a different client!" I said: "Wait, let me first find another agency that way my father is not left without services" Her answer to this request was: "I'm not going to be waiting for you to call me back. I am removing Mary's hours!" I said ok then, now I need you to give me corporate's number because I need to file a complaint. She mentioned they are privately owned. I asked her to give me the name & number to whoever was her higher up. She said: " I am the manager of this office. There isn't anyone higher than me!" Are you the owner, I asked. To which she answered No. Long story short she said if I wanted to complain to go online and do it there. So, here I am following her instructions. People like Charlie think that they cannot be touched. They abuse their position. Besides this complaint I have also filed a grievance report through my father's insurance. I must admit that the following morning Mary the office employee called me to see if she could fix the incident that had happened with Charlie. In this case, she said, that I would be dealing directly with her and not with Charlie, but just to know there is a chance Charlie will answer the phone, that is enough to decline Mary's offer. There comes a point where enough is enough. I have now found another agency which is going above and beyond to help us out. I'm glad I don't have to deal with Charlie's unprofessionalism and her rudeness. If this review was regarding Mary the office worker and Mary my father's caregiver I would have given Comfort Keepers more than Five Stars, if possible. Oh, Charlie did tell me, that she would relate my comments to the owner. If she did I hope it was the way things really happened and not her version. I'm glad that offices tend to record their conversations for training purposes or whatever the reason may be, this way the owner will know what kind of manager he has running his agency. An agency that is supposed to to look out for the well being of the elderly population and not put them in danger of being left alone due to an incompetent, rude and unprofessional person like Charlie.
