Discovered a leak in our ceiling yesterday. Looked up plumbers on Home Advisor and literally, within minutes I received a call back from Oak Plumbing. Extremely professional, prompt and courteous staff: from the scheduling team, dispatch and our technician, Andrew. Fast forward 24 hours and Andrew is literally in my bathroom, fixing the source of our leak. He is still here as I am writing this review. He represents Oak Plumbing well with a courteous and friendly demeanor, and great plumbing expertise. He tried all avenues of potential leaks and is found the source within the hour. Oak Plumbing, from start to finish is a 5-star company. You get what you pay for, and you are paying for the best work you can get out there. We called Oak plumbing because my dad (90yrs old) tankless water heater went out. Everything started out great, but then Oak plumbing basically disappeared and left my parents without hot water. They basically went AWOL on us and wouldn't even return our calls. Also, they repeatedly had "issues" with parts not arriving from the manufacture. However, I was able to track them, they made it on time, and were signed for by Oak plumbing. I placed numerous calls to them to at least discuss what the next steps were and they ghosted us. We were forced to find another plumber and they quickly fixed the heater. A week later Oak plumbing emailed me saying the parts finally came in and they would install them free of charge once we paid the portion of work done first. Seriously?!?! We paid it in full and asked for them to give us the parts, which never arrived at our door... I don't know if they just didn't want to continue to try to fix the heater (which was under warranty) or not. Guessing there is no money in that. But to leave and elderly couple in the dead of winter without hot water and basically disappear and not respond after numerous calls is embarrassing and cowardly. My parents went 5 weeks without it thanks to Oak plumbing. A simple phone call stating they couldn't or wouldn't help anymore would have sufficed, but we didn't even get that. Oak plumbing was prompt enough to send a plumber on a short notice today. Travis the plumber was very helpful and helped figure out it wasn't a plumbing issue and an electrical one for my sump pump fix. when i talked to their representative yesterday i was told there won't be a evaluation charge however Travis asked for a $169 diagnosis fee and tried to explain me that evaluation and diagnosis are two different things. Few problems here - to evaluate and to diagnose a problem is the same thing, second when you tell a customer there is no fee you should let your technician know what is communicated with the customer and lastly $169 fee for diagnosis -- thats steep... you get problems solved for that price. Please verify and double and triple verify before you agree with the service or even to just an estimate. read more

I've used Oak Plumbing twice. I'm giving them the two stars because the first plumber I worked with (Zach) was excellent and did not try to over charge me. He was professional and thorough. I do recommend Zach. He was very good. But, yesterday... We had a leaky pipe coming from our water heater. It looked simple enough, probably a loose fitting. Maybe replace a washer or something. They sent Nate because he could get to us sooner. The estimates he put together for me were EXTREMELY high. They ranged from $1,200 just to fix the leak to upwards of $10,000 to replace our tankless water heater. I told Nate that these amounts were way more than I would have expected. To which he asked me how much I was planning to spend. That made me even less comfortable because it appeared that these numbers weren't based on part and labor costs at all. Due to the shockingly high estimates we called a small local plumber instead. He stopped by same day tightened down the full tins with a wrench and just charged me $20 for his gas. He jokingly told me I should tell my husband that we needed a new tankless water heater. He said that would run about $3,500. I know that different companies have different policies around repairs because once they've touched it maybe they need to warranty it, but this situation was absolutely egregious. It was very clear Nate was trying to take advantage of me, which is completely unacceptable. read more

Called them last Saturday 9:30 AM for my clogged kitchen sink. They told me I am on the schedule from from 10-2PM. And Zachary just started a call and that we would be next. They did call to tell me Zachry would be about 45 minutes later at about 1:45. About 4:00 when I called they said his call became an emergency. But he is leaving right now and should be here in about an hour. At 5:30 when I called, a male voice was very rude and with a little anger in his voice told me that Zachary was supposed to have been on his way but is now leaving and should be here in an hour. That would be 6:30 pm. Now at 5:30 PM................... I Googled local plumber near me, Mike answered, he was on his way home and could stop by to take a look in about 15 to 20 minutes. I called Oak back to cancel. The same gruff male voice obviously knew my phone ID and answered, "He is still there and will not make the appointment to fix my sink" We all have good days and bad days. Oak even offered to get another one of their 12 plumbers over but it never happened. There was no I am sorry for my lousy non service. The only reason Oak Plumbing is receiving two stars is because both plumbers that were assigned to us over the course of two weeks (for a few VERY basic projects) were courteous, positive, and generally respectful of us and our home. It's unbelievably amazing that the other reviews are positive, folks. Sit back - and ENJOY! The first plumber assigned to us talked a really big game about how good he was and that he was studying for his Master Plumber exam in December. Well, he needs to keep studying. While I recognize everyone has a bad day, he had a bad two weeks until we had to call Oak to fire him and replace him with another plumber. We needed him to replace a shower cartridge, two sink pop-ups, a shower door seal/weather strip, some sink basin caulking, and flush our tankless water heater (routine maintenance). Over the course of two separate home visits, he was ONLY able to successfully and efficiently accomplish caulking of sink basins and fix a slow drip in our laundry room sink. He claimed he wanted to do everything in one day, so he wanted to return in two days time. In the meantime, rather than trying to decipher what brand sink faucets we had, he encouraged us to simply replace them with new faucets. He said refurbishing existing faucets can be more expensive than simply buying new ones. We believed him. Well, if he actually would have attempted to decipher what brand they were (Rohl - VERY EXPENSIVE), he would know they are over $500 faucets and getting new parts would be significantly less expensive than buying new, similar faucets to match our bathroom. Not to mention, Rohl has a lifetime warranty on parts. After five minutes of online research, we called Rohl. They apologized to us and sent us three sets of brand new cartridges free of charge (one for each of our three-piece, widespread faucets). When he FINALLY came back for the second visit (four hours late, even though Dispatch told me he would only be two hours late), he also realized he had the wrong shower cartridge and the wrong shower door weather strip. Wouldn't you want to take measurements or pictures ahead of time? He attempted to "fix" one pop-up system but they actually got worse!! The plungers wouldn't open or shut. Shouldn't a plumber test them first? He got grease and crud on his hands and dusted them off in our Master toilet - and didn't even flush! Once we fired him, I was told I'd get a call from the Operations Supervisor, Ariel, the following Monday. I never heard from him, so I called Oak on Tuesday demanding a call-back within two hours. He finally called and didn't even apologize. He told me he was going to assign a Master Plumber to the job and that he would show up at 8AM on Thursday. At 8:56AM, Ariel finally called me saying the plumber couldn't come for personal reasons, but that he would DEFINITELY be there Friday. On Friday, a completely different plumber showed up and Ariel never even bothered to tell me it was going to be a different plumber. It turns out, Andrew is the only employee we worked with who actually shouldn't be fired. Once the job was finally completed, I was called to collect payment without even getting an invoice, which I then had to request. Except when I called them back, their VOICEMAIL BOX IS FULL - and they didn't even know it! The invoice included a line item for a $49 evaluation fee, which clearly indicated was to be waived if Oak Plumbing won the job - which they did. So...I had to remind them to take that off the bill. The attention to detail, communication among employees at all levels, general competency, and customer service is EXTREMELY POOR. In fact, on their corporate business card is a nice little catchphrase: "Bringing customer service back to plumbing." WHAT A JOKE!! They also wanted to charge almost $300 to snake a bathroom sink - so we had our handyman do it for $60! LOL. Our handyman also laughed when we told him what Oak charged us for pop-up replacements =( NEVER HIRE OAK PLUMBING. read more

Their Technician was very informative and professional. Very experienced and helpful. Was charged $169 for coming out and checking out which is fine if they just first quote you that. Oak should just be very upfront with their pricing instead saying $49 when you inquire. They should clearly state $49 plus diagnostic fees. Especially when I specifically told them what was the problem. Would not recommend them from my experience. 2 stars because the technician did what he was supposed too. 0 stars for oak plumbing because I think they are deceiving when asking a quote here on yelp. read more

This place is the real deal. I am of course calling due to an emergency situation at my property. I am generally very direct to make my needs clear. I spoke with Amy so helpful and extremely nice. I let her know that I was nervous about the bill . They cannot tell you until they see the job , she books the appt. My plumber Paul is my type of person. I told him I wanted the job done correctly. He looked over the job made an assessment and got to work. My problem was a mess Paul was tenacious about his work. He finished but I had to call them back for further details of the job, no problem, Paul was out front waiting on me when I got there. No excuse the man has talent (hr does not speak much) his work speaks loudly. Keeping there name on my refrigerator for future use. read more

I am an interior decorating who hired Oak plumbing to do some plumbing work in a client's home. I initially wanted them to add a shower to an upstairs bathroom but because of sudden plumbing damage, they ended up fixing a major leak, removing a vanity, moving a location of a toilet, and replacing a floor. Andrew did the initial walkthrough, was polite and thorough. Ariel talked me through all of the services needed and was willing to work with my budget. Leo, who did the majority of the work, was friendly and extremely hard working. When moving out of our house on Sunday I discovered we had bad hot and cold water valves for our washer/dryer. I called Oak Plumbing mid day on Monday and had Jovon out by Wednesday morning. Jovon was great! Took one look at my hookups and gave me a no nonsense quote. Explained the process to me, offered alternatives but explained the shortcomings of those as well. Our toilet has been clogged, we called Oak Plumbing to fix it. They came right away unclogged it and left. Literally the next day it was clogged again. We called them back and they tried to charge us again, but decided to unclog it again for free since it hadn't been that long. Once again, the next day it was clogged. I needed a new water softening system. I live in rural Solano county and have massively hard water. I did my research, and liked the Oak Plumbing reviews, so I contacted them ~ 4 months ago. A technician (Nate) came out promptly and was accommodating and professional. He said that they needed a water sample to "design" my system. I had an analysis when I bought my home 4 years ago, but it told only bacteria. He said that the water analysis cost $699. Whaile this seemed a bit steep, I agreed. I was required to pay in full before the analysis. I did so, and it then took 2 weeks for Nate to return for the analysis. He took the sample directly from the hose bib immediately adjacent to the well, and disconnected the attached water system (failing to re-attach it, which resulted in minor plant loss). 3 days later I got a call from "Ariel," the "Service Manager." He said that "...there was something wrong" with the sample (it was now 3 weeks since I paid.) He was cagy about wht the problem was. I asked every way Icould, but he demurred, saying that "...they would use another company." Finally, it appeared that someone ar Oak goofed, it was sent in wrong, and couldn't be processed. But he did not want to admit that. He wanted to come out in another few days; it took considerable arm-twisting to get him to come out the next day (to correct THEIR mistake..!) He took the sample (and again disconnected the irrigatin system without re-connecting). 2 weeks, no respose. It took 2 calls to finally get the results (3+ weeks after he took the sample, and now more than 6 weeks after payment.) The report stated that the cost was $385. So, Oak charged me $314 just to get the sample. I was finally able to speak with Ariel after 3 tries. He promised me that he would have a price in a day or 2. No call back. I called again. Again, he promised a price "..the next day." After 3 of these abject LIES by Ariel I decided to go with another company, who was prompt, gave me an estimate in 1 day (I also spoke with another company which while better than Oak, did not fulfill their promises and were more expensive.) INTERESTINGLY, the day after I made other arrangements, the Receptionist from Oak called me saying that Nate coud come out in a few days to discuss the system (this was 3 weeks after Ariel said "..next day.") I firmly told her that I had made other arrangements, and exactly WHY. I said that I intended to write a 1 star review on both Google and Yelp, and asked if the owner ("Matt ) might call me prior to the review so that he might answer my concerns. Guess what? True to form, I never got a call back. I don't know what has happened with Oak. I read all the reviews. Something is going on, but Oak is NO LONGER A GOOD CHOOCE It has changed. GO ELSEWHERE! read more

I scheduled an appointment with them three days ago, and on the day of the appointment and window of time they were so supposed to arrive, they canceled my appointment and offered to a rescheduled appointment for 3 days later. No offer of discount, no offer of to do it on the weekend. If this is how you treat a new customer, I'm glad you didn't get my business...who knows how good your workmanship actually is. People take time off of work for this--zero empathy from the person that called me. Update: The business left me a message of apologies, further explanation and offered a 10% discount in addition to an earlier appointment. For that at least I do respect the follow-up, and do recommend their dispatchers lead with this when canceling an appointment; as the inconvenience directly impacts the customer financially and causes me to scramble for another plumber. read more

AMAZINGLY FAST & EFFICIENT!! We were impressed from start to finish how quickly the response time on getting our shower head & faucet replacement done. We had already done the tearout, removing tile & sheet rock, exposing plumbing. We called Oak Plumbing & Martina immediately scheduled our job for a quote. Anthony arrived at scheduled time & when he saw the job, he gave us the quote & said he could do it the same day. He was very professional in switching out the old copper tubing & setting up the shower valve & adding height to the shower head, in lightning speed. On Friday, August 21st, 2020 I called Oak Plumbing for an estimate to install a vanity and faucet in my bathroom. They provided an appointment as early as Sunday, which surprised me. I honestly, did not think the turnaround for an appointment would be so fast. At any rate, Johnny showed up Sunday within the time promised. He was super knowledgeable and patient with my questions, which I had several. He even looked at my kitchen faucet, which wasn't a part of the appointment. Johnny was very professional and pleasant. Communication between back-office staff and drivers is abysmal, they rescheduled my time slot twice without asking, then failed to show up within the 4 hour window with no notification. I called both office numbers to get status, left messages, heard nothing back. I finally got a text 2 hours later that a driver is on their way, I replied back to the text saying not to come as I was no longer available. Driver showed up anyway, claiming no knowledge of the original time window and complaining about back-office staff. I don't fault the driver personally, but if they can't even schedule a visit, communicate with their own staff, or show up on time, I'm certainly not trusting them with my plumbing repairs. read more

The customer service is is good. Got a reply very quick to get business. I got a decent appointment date. Technician came on time and even got a text message him as well on ETA. When he got here he quoted me $368 for one bolt and putty replacement. I told him I had another toiled fully replaced for $370 and I had quotes from other companies for $150 and $170. Then he said he called but not even sure he called and got quote $300. I accepted because it was on a time frame. But the part he used was no more than $50. So it means for 30 minutes worth of work they were $250 per hour. The toilet is working fine and professionally done. I would not recommend this place nor use them again as they are extremely over priced. Shop around you can get service for about half price. Also, I did not get a receipt and had to follow up with them. read more
