First the good. The place is beaming with people to make you happy. Lots of staff and well trained. The coffee is great. It is a large busy room that at times you cannot hear well. I did not like my food. I had a mushroom omelette that was smothered in their "famous" mushroom gravy/sauce. The texture of the omelette almost gagged me. It was actually jiggly which left you feeling it was undercooked. Nothing, including the famous potato pancakes, had any flavor. I could not even taste potato. I tried the applesauce and sour cream that came with it, but that was of no help. I went to their other location in Sequim about 15 years ago, and I am reminded why I have not been back. read more

Excellent breakfast/brunch place. The wait to be seated can be long, and your wait for food can be challenging. We ordered pretty quickly after being seated - food came out about 45 minutes later. I'm glad they had great coffee. I had the Eggs Casey. Basically, it's a cross between a Benedict and biscuits and gravy. It's a croissant cut in half, with scrambled eggs mixed with ham and cheddar cheese covered in mushroom gravey. Sooo good! When I added a little Sriracha it went over the top. My wife had the lemon blueberry French toast. Omg - amazing! Probably overall too sweet for me to eat a whole order without either some eggs or bacon. The bacon was thick and tasty- I would order it next time personally. But very high quality. Just had a bite of the corned beef hash- high quality and full of flavor. We have been to both locations, one in Sequim Washington where we felt welcomed, learned about the restaurant, the locations, etc. We had a wonderful waitress named Kathy, always attentive to all her tables, answered questions, offered recommendations, and the environment and entire staff deserve a 5 star From the time we walked into the Silverdale location, we were not greeted, just asked how many and shuffled to a table. The waiter offered no recommendations when we asked what is good ( now we didn't know they were basically the same restaurant, just different locations) . We had no refill on our drinks, our food came out 35 minutes after ordering 2 meals ( scramble and French toast) we had parties around us that were larger, eating and drinks filled. I wish I could justify the actions of this but I can't. If your interested in going here, check it out but the drive to Sequim is worth the difference in service and that impacts a business completely. When we were asked about our experience while checking out the young lady said oh that's to bad maybe next time you'll get better service! No thanks! read more

My girlfriend brought me here today and it was such a great experience. They have a large menu and the service was fantastic. Staff was super friendly and the view is really nice. I got the Benny's country breakfast and she got the apple cinnamon pancakes. We also got a side of bacon. The food was excellent. If you've never been here, I highly recommend it. This place gets busy on weekends so be prepared for a wait. It's worth it though. They have some of the best breakfast options out there. Swiss bacon scramble, eggs Casey, apple pancake, or even your simple options are all fantastic. I recommend you avoid any of their potatoes because, in my opinion, the breakfast potatoes are under seasoned and the potato pancakes are just bad. One of the best places in Kitsap, and my go-to for taking out of towners. The wait isn't as long if you plan ahead. I love their food, and the servers are always wonderful (my experience). My sister ordered the corn beef breakfast which she did not like at all it had more potatoes than necessary and ended up eating the side pancakes that came with my breakfast. We came just after opening since we had a large group. I knew it would take a bit of time to set up a table for 11. I tried to call ahead for a table or make a reservation but it's first come first serve. However, I was told about 15-20 minutes. After 30 minutes, I was told just 10 more minutes. After an hour and 20 minutes, our group was still not seated. We could've eaten and left by now! The kicker is that they sat about 12-15 people while we were waiting. Our waitress, McKenna, is all friendly smiles and fabulous and attentive to her customers. She even brought an extra bowl of corned beef when my husband noted that his corned beef hash hardly had any beef in it: it was mostly very tasty potatoes and caramelized onions. I also showed McKenna there was less than a full teaspoon of ground up smoked salmon between the perfectly made eggs and the English muffins I ordered. Although my meal was tasty too, we were looking forward to having more protein than was provided. McKenna offered to also bring me more smoked salmon, but I felt sorry for her and let her know she didn't have to do more extra running. Anyway, we decided not to return to the Oak Table Cafe. It so happens that the eggs benedict were sitting on 4 potato pancakes, so I mentioned that the apple sauce and sour cream would go much better with the potato pancakes (latkes) if they were brought as a side. McKenna agreed. when she came back with the check, she gave us a $5.00 gift certificate. Our bill was about $53.00, and because she handled everything so well, we felt she deserved the 20% tip we gave her. With inflation hitting the food industry, it's no surprise that this restaurant is making up for the high cost of preparation by cutting the protein down to practically nothing. The food tasted really great and looked inviting but didn't fulfill the memories we held of the heavy protein Corned Beef and Hash and Salmon Eggs Benedict at other best restaurants in the USA. During our summer camping trip to the Scenic Beach State Park, we stopped by Oak Table Cafe for breakfast. So glad to have found this amazing breakfast place! We went on a Sunday and there were about 20 people waiting outside the restaurant. After about 30 minutes of waiting, we were finally seated. The restaurant was bustling with families and the atmosphere was very casual and inviting. It was very busy but all staff were very friendly, nice, and attentive. We ordered the popular Viennese coffee, Apple Pancake, German Pancake, and Smoked Salmon Benedict Eggs. Viennese coffee: so good! Such a succulent, tasty, and fun coffee drink. The hint of cinnamon was well balanced with vanilla and whipped cream. I could still taste the espresso among all the flavors in a well balanced way. It was great! German pancake: There aren't too many places that offer German pancakes because it's so time-consuming to prepare. I was so happy to learn that this place offers it so we had to try it. And it was very delicious. The powdered sugar on the golden brown pancake was pretty in presentation and provided subtle yet sweet flavor. A wonderful pancake! Apple pancake: since this was their specialty we had to have it! It was filled with apple slices and covered with cinnamon sugar, which made it a little too sweet for our taste but it still was a very good pancake. Benedict Eggs with Smoked Salmon: the poached eggs and the smoked salmon went really well together. They melted in my mouth and it was flavorful. However the last 2 times here, though we were the first of the day to use the booth, there were a lot of crumbs and bits of food debris on the seat of the booth and on the floor under the table. I would expect that upon opening in the morning everything in the dining area would be spotless. More attention needs to be given to cleaning and disinfecting the dining area. read more

Oak Table is a nice restaurant. Service is always spot on! Our biggest issue is with their German Pancake and the Baked Apple Cinnamon pancake which is why we go there. They don't mix their batter enough and 90% of the time you get a "Pancake" with huge pockets of scrambled egg. They shouldn't be like that. We have mentioned it to the staff and spoken to management and gotten a sort of "it is what it is" reply so we gave up. The ambiance is lovely and the rest of the food is good. I had the original eggs benedict with the potato pancakes. The benedict was good. The potato pancakes, even with the applesauce tasted like sawdust. Mr. had eggs, pancakes and 2 slices of nicely crisped bacon. He absolutely loved the pancakes. The service was good. Food took a very long time to come out even though the restaurant was only half full by this time. The problem I have is that before leaving, I stopped in the ladies room. The toilets were not clean (the handicapped stall looked like a toilet brush hadn't scrubbed the rim in a year), debris was on the floor, the area around the sink handle needed a good scrubbing and there were no paper towels. This is a deal breaker for me. If the public bathroom is dirty, what is the kitchen, where the public can't see, like? No thanks. We are crossing this place off our list. read more

I have been a Oak Table customer for forty-four years, which started in the original Oak Table in Sequim WA. It's been one of our favorites since we first started going out for breakfast there. But lately, maybe since the "plandemic" not sure exactly, it seems like the bacon which is a favorite for many I am sure, is not as good as before. Not sure if it's precooked and reheated, or it's a less quality product, or maybe both. The portions have become smaller and higher in price. I understand costs for everything has gone up, so, I understand prices go up, but you shouldn't shrink the portions as well, you have to keep producing a quality meal as well. I just want let them know, and they don't slowly go backwards and turn into the many establishments that are subpar at best. I haven't been one to write reviews, but sometimes you have to do or say something to maybe keep things in check. There have been many other places that I have refused to go back, for their low quality, small portions, or not cooked right. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy eating there, this is not a terrible review, I just don't want to see them slowly turn into many others that went backwards too far. This restaurant is a pancake house first and foremost. The management owns that status even if it's not explicitly advertised. They serve pancakes in at least 6 different ways and they're easily the best I've ever had. My favorite is the bacon pancake. The bacon is a generous heap of perfectly crispy crumbs that are not too salty, and they go excellent with the smooth creamy pancakes and the real maple syrup. They don't serve and of that aunt jemima garbage here. Even the savory dishes come with 4 pancakes, so it's very much the opposite of most places where the pancakes are a side dish afterthought. The service is very friendly and professional. You'll probably hit a 15-30 minute line when you come here though. The trade off for mind blowing pancakes is the savory options are pretty mediocre. I got a smoked salmon Benedict and the hollandaise was pretty conservatively seasoned, with a small portion of salmon that did not pack as much smoky punch as I'm used to. My wife and I met a friend here for brunch on a Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. Had about a 20 minute wait in the somewhat crowded lobby. Was quite happy I found parking in the lot, as I've had to park down the hill before, which isn't fun when you have an arthritic knee. The food: I still think this place is over-hyped. My wife chose the Italiano Omelet ($20.95). Apparently she's not a fan of "French Baked Omelets", as she didn't care for the almost skin-like texture or the weird old oil flavors she got. Baked omelets have never appealed to me, which is why I didn't order one. Just give me the gently fried over low heat Julia Child type omelet. I had the German Pancake ($20.95), which in most restaurants is called a Dutch Baby (a name likely coined by a Seattle restaurant years ago). I've had them in a number of different restaurants and made them at home. Made perfectly, it should be large, light, and fluffy. The edges of mine fit that definition, but the bottom was far too thick and dense for me...too much flour and not enough beaten egg. It was a bit too chewy; hardly light and fluffy. The one high point for me was the expensive (but worth it) side of thick sliced bacon ($8.65) that I ordered. You get four slices of perfectly cooked, salty, smoky delicious bacon. It's better than any bacon I've ever had in any restaurant. I'd likely return just for the bacon! Service was fine and smiling staff throughout the restaurant greet you when you're being seated and when you leave; a very nice touch. I may return and I may not.
