This venue is very accessible from the highway and parking is very well managed, to the point where there was virtually no traffic. The walk can depend on where you parked, but it seemed we were at one of the furthest points and still didn't have to walk too far. It's a bigger space than I expected. There are a lot of bars available so the wait for a drink isn't too bad. They offer margaritas in a cute little take-home plastic shaker. Came here for a comedy show. Staff are friendly and do the job accordingly by checking tickets and making sure you're on the right spot. There are concessions and bars located in the main area. Parking in the main lot is a HEADACHE!! Park in the dirt lot with the waking bridge connected to the main parking area and you will have an easier time getting out. I attended a show at the Oakdale Theatre on Saturday believing it was going to be a grown and sexy vibe. Aside from the fact that the show got started extremely late, people were smoking from their weed pens, and everything else which completely ruined my experience because I do tend to my health. I absolutely do not smoke and I spent the night coughing up my lungs. I left the show with the worst headache, feeling sick and unstable. The theater is very nice, but the experience with the staff is consistently awful. I drive a friend who uses a wheelchair. Parking attendants demand to see the pass...they grab it out of your hand, and once one of them.tried to reach in the window to get it. Then they stare at me, and about one in 3 visits they tell me they don't think the pass is mine and I can't use the parking...sigh. My keys always set off the detector, but I can't safely take my hands off the wheelchair until we are through and it's level. They snatch them out of my hand every time and stare like they have never seen keys before. Ushers are rude and there is no goal of accommodation. Last time we were there, for example, my friend was presenting the tickets to be seated, and the usher walked past us to the person behind us, twice. We found our own seats. We were in a totally empty row. Well after the show started, we moved over two seats to get our from under the vent that was making us cold. The same usher immediately came over to give us a hard time and say we were in someone else's seats. There were obviously good reason why so many seats are always empty. I recently went to the Oakdale theater for a Zak sabbath show. I was very impressed with the direction of parking (pay or not). And the efficiency of every one directing me. Entering was very easy with staff literally guiding you through it. The rest room was absolutely spotless and huge. Great food and beverage options and not overly pricey. Great show!! Attended a concert here recently. The venue is intimate but comfortable. There are a lot of bars setup so lines aren't too long for drinks and snacks. Bathrooms were clean. This review is based on my personal experience as a customer of this business on April 25, 2025. Oakdale Theater is a large well maintained venue in Wallingford. There isn't really a bad seat in the house. Even way up top there's still a good view of the stage. The large lobby makes it easy to get in and out, and find whatever merch or snacks may be needed. Traffic coming off Route 15 before events is a nightmare. Find an alternate route. The venue and (not quite) VIP lounge lack some basic amenities... No Guest Wi-Fi | You might get lucky and connect to a vendor network, but this changes from show to show. Obviously, there's a network connection of some kind at this venue. It just isn't set up for guest access. There are technical challenges for service of this type, but it's doable. No House Feed | There are some very large speakers in the lobby and some smaller speakers in the VIP lounge, but neither were running the house mix at a recent Brit Floyd show. This begs the question... What are these speakers for if not to hear a live show? Private Bathrooms | VIP lounge does not have private bathrooms, so be prepared to wait in line with (un)common folk if you choose to go during intermission. read more

I went to the French Montana concert(Gotta See It 2 Believe It w/ guests Fabolous & Fivio)w/ my sis. I like that no matter where you sit you get a close view. Inside is really nice. There's portraits of musicians (Rod Steward,Brittney Spears,etc.) painted on the panels. I was supposed to take pics on my way out but forgot. Someone spelled a beer all over the floor from behind where I was seated. I told 1 of the workers. She said,someone will come down to clean the spill. I told her someone could fall & get hurt(hint,hint me). They need to get someone to clean it,if they don't want a lawsuit. 30 minutes later another worker comes to check out the spill. I told her yeah it's everywhere. She said yeah we can't get someone down here unless it's intermission. Mine you the concert didn't even start yet. No one ever came to clean it I just moved from my seat. That means Oakdale doesn't care about their customers. Spill on the floor who cares. read more

Came here last night for the Christmas One Republic show! Parking was 25$ if you wanted to park close... walking from a Waze back was free! Wallingford exit took a little time to get off with the traffic and the theater took maybe 15-20 minutes to clear after the concert was over! One republic hardly played their own music which was a tad disappointing ... But also thank you to the bartender downstairs who gave me a cup of ice so I could get some water! Just donated platelets and was not feeling wonderfully and my Apple Pay wasn't working... and anyway she pointed out the water fountain and I was thankful. It was late and I was absolutely parched and I know at venues they usually want you to buy their product... (and I would've if I could've)... but anyway THANK YOU MA'AM. Parking lot took awhile to clear out and we hung back behind the crowds as the theater emptied. I'd recommend doing that if traffic makes you angry! read more

Riverdance Poorly designed entrance creates a bottleneck and no place to drop off elderly guests. Rude security just tells you to keep moving. Very unhelpful. Oh, and if you have a slightly oversized bag, just try another security line because bigger bags than my niece's (who returned hers to the car) were getting through. Came here to see AJR in concert, and must say how impressed I was with the venue. First of all, the organization for parking and getting people in was outstanding. They checked COVID vaccination card, pursed and tickets, and even with all this process it did not take long to get in. The "lobby" area was set with merchandise table, several bars and food vendors, making it easy to purchase stuff without being in huge lines or next to a bunch of people. Once inside, they ushers helped everyone find their seats, and helped keep the walking areas clear and safe. The sound was also great, seat comfortable, and the stage was easy to see from every seat. Only 1 complaint....cell service and wifi are non-existent. If you're going to a show with electronic tickets, download them to your phone ahead of time That said, the staff were all very friendly. The man and woman checking our tickets were patient and helpful while we tried retrieving them from a few of our phones. Parking attendants were friendly, even the bartender replaced one of our drinks after we told him that the vibration from the music seemed to make it slide off the wooden divider it was on (I swear no one touched it lol very strange). The bathrooms were clean, several "merch" areas were set up to avoid long lines. However, the venue was evacuated 10 minutes into the show because the fire alarm went off (due to pyrotechnics so most likely the performers were at fault). Went to see PartyNextDoor in concert on 8/11 and it could've been better. Firstly, security would not let my sister in with her selfie light but our friend and other people were not stopped. I was in the pit which was nicely AC'ed in addition to water being passed out. Sound system could be better but I still had a great time seeing one of my favorite artists. read more

I went to see Lee and Lewis Brice.. because my boyfriend was loud and interactive with Lee Brice the security guards did not like that although there were many other people interacting, he was singled out, and I was told to leave with him although it was a crowd interaction. There was no disrespect nor profanity at all. I am highly disgusted with this venue and I would never suggest it to anyone. Saw the used, pierce the veil, don bronco, and death by romi June 7, 2023 Great venue! Sounded great. Even in the nosebleeds you could see and feel a part of the concert. The seat rows had enough room for you to get past others without touching them, and to jump around a little bit. The screens showing live video of the concert were pretty small from the back of the room and it didn't seem like they had great camera angles cause the artists filmed were usually not showing their face to the camera. Despite how long I have been in this state, I only recently caught a show here. I was at the Oakdale for the Puscifer show. The venue is not as overwhelming as Mohegan Sun arena, but not quite as intimate as a show at Toad's Place. I had good seats and a nice experience! The access to beverages and food was quite impressive. Lots of counters and spots to get drinks, including a nice patio area with stands offering drinks and sandwiches. There were also tables and open space to hang out as you wait for the start of the show. They offer VIP packages to tack onto your ticket giving you access to a smaller bar to avoid the lines. However, I did not think that was at all necessary since there were so many spots with plenty of staff to help you out. I stood in line twice, both times not more than 5 minutes. Speaking of lines, another line I did not have to deal with was that for the bathrooms. There were lots of stalls and it was pretty clean. Always a plus. Parking was a little intimidating, but not terrible. Overall, a good experience. They always have some interesting shows and the tickets are relatively reasonable. I just find that they do not always advertise the shows as widely as other spots. Granted, I do not listen to the radio or watch regular TV (I stream almost everything). Still, I am usually more in the know with concerts at other spots somehow. I say this because KMFDM was at the Oakdale one year and I was devastated that I found out only AFTER the fact! I guess my tip then is to keep this spot on your radar and check in once in a while or be sure to sign up for alerts of some sort! read more

While Maxwell himself was amazing, there are venue flaws which bothered me. First, the parking. I do nor recall there being so much premium 20 parking. Hated this Also seems like the sound system was off. I thought it was just the Lauren Hill concert but it was the same with Maxwell. The band overshadowed his voice. We flew from Florida for the AJR, even though we had no idea how good the venue would be. What a great surprise to find that Oakdale Theater is an amazing venue!. We arrived a little close to start time so the parking lot was getting pretty full. This was fine with me as I had asked a local about the venue earlier and she said the only tough part about this place was exiting was usually a mess of cars. I figured this way our car was parked near the exit and would be one of the 1st ones out(that plan actually worked perfectly). The entrance with the COVID test and security went very smooth and then we were in the atrium. It was a nice set up with concessions circling the large round area. It looked beautiful with the wood construction and the set up was very convenient. We got our seats that were to be "partially obscured". The seats were some of the best partially obscured I have had. We could see almost all the stage and felt right on top of the show. I'm not sure the next time we will be in town for show, but I would definitely go again. read more

Had a great time last night seeing one of my favorite bands, The Band Camino, perform at the Dome at Oakdale! Parking was free, although it was a bit disorganized. Employees were yelling at cars that were dropping off despite there being no clear signage out front that drop offs weren't allowed. Anyway, most people were nice and the venue was pretty spacious. My fiancé and I came here to watch the Riverdance show. I bought tickets through Groupon so I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere near front row seating. However, our seats in the loft were not bad! It was almost better because we could see everyone's dancing from above. The sound and backgrounds were amazing! Drinks here were solid, but I do wish there was more variety and quality in the snack department. There is a choice between VIP parking for $20 or free parking. I'm thankful for the free parking option. Be ready to listen to some music or chat with your partner as you exit after the show due to the long line of cars.
