During the pandemic, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It progressed quickly, and I was left…read moreto care for her on my own after my dad died from cancer in 2022. Buena Vista was recommended by her geriatric doctor at Kaiser, who told me that their care was better than that provided by her own employer. I took her word for it and scheduled my appointment with them. She was accepted quickly, and from February 2024 through September 2025, she was in their care, providing several visits to my home per week. There were some bumps in the road, which accounts for four stars instead of five (mainly due to under- or constantly revolving staffing and an original social worker who should be in an academic line of work, rather than a public-facing one), but overall, it was a positive experience and I would recommend BVH to anyone in need of such care for their loved one(s). I would have been doomed without the medications and supplies provided by BVH. Having to navigate her care by myself was more difficult than I can put into words-- you never imagine having to wipe down walls that have been finger-painted by the feces of a 70-year-old, or carrying the dead weight of a 120-pound woman from a bathroom to a chair because she's forgotten how to use her legs. Her social worker (Marci) stayed with me on the phone while I vented and cried, and offered warm words of kindness. The volunteer coordinator (Kellie) gave me friendship when my world had dwindled down to nothing but centring around my mom and her constant supervision. My second volunteer, Jacky, was amazing. We formed a friendship and still text each other weekly. Unfortunately, because my mom remained on hospice for more than the typical length of time (3 months), due to her condition, she cycled through a handful of nurses, but we ended up with the nurse we liked the most, after she came back from maternity leave. Karen is one of the sweetest people I have ever met in my life, and she always showed what felt like genuine care and concern for my mom, as well as myself. Estephany was a godsend. I feel that the most underappreciated "angels" of hospice are without a doubt the bathing assistants. They have to put up with tantrums, screaming, crying, and general awkwardness of showering and dressing injured and elderly people who are scared, confused, and sometimes violent. She felt like a friend to me in the time she was with us, and I looked forward to her visits. She was so good with my mom. I'm starting to cry as I type this because she had to endure the same weird ramblings and repeated questions three times a week, every week for over a year, and always did so with a smile. She treated my mom like a human being, with love and respect. That is probably my biggest takeaway from my experience with Buena Vista-- they allowed my mom, who suffered through this tragic disease, to spend the last leg of her life with DIGNITY, which is in short supply for the addled and elderly, trapped in their failing bodies and minds that betray them. Thank you to everyone at BVH who helped us during this dark time. Your generosity will never be forgotten.

And in…read morethis time is very hard to make a choice who to go with and have a peace of mind that your loved ones are in a good hands. I've made a huge mistake, chose and agency that owned by a friend of a friend who I know, and had a nightmare for 5 full days ( the only easy part was a sign up), other than that, I felt that for them my Mom is a "piece" to make money with. Thankfully, I've been referred to Alexandra ( at that time I didn't even knew the name of the agency). From the first conversation with her that took an hour and she wanted to know everything about my mom, her situation and about our family, I felt very comfortable, I felt that she cares about people who gets under her care. I've decided to make a transfer from the "nightmare agency " to her. And it's been the best decision I've made. Transfer was very smooth and easy , she answered every phone call and text, was concerned about every single detail. When the transfer was completed, I had nurse coming to the house within an hour. He spent a good 40 min with me and mom, making sure he didn't miss anything about her health and condition. Next day, I had everyone on my mom team calling me, and with every single person I came in contact with, it was very easy to communicate, I felt warmth and compassion. Every question and concern I had was addressed. I called Alexandra and told her that, and thank her for having such an incredible team. And I came into a peace myself, feeling that I don't have to frustrated anymore with getting help, and can concentrate on spending my time with mom. I'm a business owner my self working directly with clients, and always believing that yes we are in business to make a living, but your client or patient come first. And that is what I'm experiencing so far with Alexandra and her team.

I urge you to carefully consider this before contracting with any hospice provider. Unfortunately, our experience with Faith & Hope made an already painful situation even harder. In April 2025, my mom suffered a massive stroke. She was placed under Continuous Care (CC), which meant she required critical, around-the-clock nursing support. We were told her case would be re-evaluated after three days. However, the care was stopped in less than 24 hours and we were given only 4 hours' notice that services would be discontinued. At that point, it was clear our needs no longer aligned with Faith & Hope's philosophy of care. We scrambled to hire private help on extremely short notice. That night, my mom was in significant pain & experienced agitation. She needed her medication adjusted and an increase of the dosage frequency to help manage her symptoms. The next day, we made final attempts to Faith & Hope to reassess mom's eligibility for CC, even though the on-call night nurse, when we asked, did acknowledge that we were free to seek another hospice provider. We waited all day for a response from Faith & Hope, but heard nothing. Faced with another evening without adequate care, we transferred my mom to a different hospice. They gave us the right care without hesitation. Sadly, our mom passed away only 4 days later. The only positive experience we had with Faith & Hope was with Nurse Theresa. She cared for my mom with compassion, dedication and a true commitment to patient advocacy. Theresa's thoughtfulness and support helped guide my brothers and me through an incredibly challenging time, and for that we are deeply grateful.

Forever Grateful to Healing Care Hospice for the Care They Gave My Dad…read more I don't even know where to begin in expressing the depth of my gratitude for Healing Care Hospice and their incredible team. When my dad's health began to decline and we were told it was time for hospice, my family was heartbroken and scared. We didn't know what to expect, and we wanted to make sure he would be surrounded by love, comfort, and dignity. From the very first moment Healing Care Hospice stepped in, we felt an enormous sense of peace. The nurses who cared for my dad were absolute angels. They treated him like he was their own family -- always gentle, patient, and respectful. They explained everything to us with compassion and honesty, making sure we understood what was happening every step of the way. It never felt rushed or routine; it felt deeply personal. Even during the hardest moments, their calm presence and kindness made such a difference. The aides and caregivers were just as amazing. They made sure my dad was clean, comfortable, and pain-free. They noticed the little things -- fixing his blanket, massaging his hands, talking softly to him when he couldn't respond -- small gestures that spoke volumes about their compassion. The social worker and chaplain also brought so much comfort, not just to my dad but to our entire family. They gave us emotional support, listened when we needed to talk, and helped us process everything we were feeling. It meant the world to have people who didn't just focus on medical care but truly cared for the human and spiritual side of what we were going through. One thing that stood out was the way the team communicated. They were always available -- day or night -- and made sure we never felt alone. Whether it was a question about medication, a sudden change in my dad's condition, or just needing reassurance, someone was always there to help with warmth and patience. When my dad passed, the hospice team was with us, guiding us gently through those final moments with compassion and respect. They handled everything with such grace, giving us space to say goodbye in peace. Even after, they checked in on us to see how we were doing, which meant so much. I can honestly say Healing Care Hospice helped my dad transition with comfort and dignity, and helped our family find peace in an incredibly painful time. They weren't just caregivers -- they became part of our family during those last weeks. To everyone at Healing Care Hospice: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made an unbearable time a little easier, and you gave my dad the care and love he deserved. We will never forget what you did for us. If anyone reading this is searching for hospice care for a loved one, I can say with complete confidence that Healing Care Hospice is the kind of team you want by your side. They bring heart, compassion, and genuine humanity to every moment.

Anna was unbelievably amazing in helping to navigate us through this journey. I started on the phone with her at 7:30am. She did the leg work to find the best solution for my loved one, and get him the care he needed in his final days. By 4:30pm, things were happening, and FAST. We had confirmation that he was going to get to go home, and she pushed to make sure a hospital bed, meds, and amazing nurses were all there before he arrived. Sandra was his nurse in his final hours. She played Christian music for him. Prayed with him. Read the bible to him. Held his hand so he wasn't scared. We feel as though Sandra was hand picked by God just for him, it couldn't have been a more perfect match. Thank you, Generation Care, for making our friend comfortable and so cared for. We feel we could not have requested a better company to step in and help us through this time. We would recommend this company 1000 times to anyone who is looking into hospice care.

Review for Veronica,…read more It is a joy to have you in my home and taking care of me. You truly have a heart like Jesus, as He said, 'I have come to be a servant of all and show you the Father's love through my actions.' Your daily actions, such as always entering my home with a sweet greeting and a smile. No matter what may have occurred on your drive to work you never let it change your kindness and compassion towards me. Your daily respect for my autonomy and personal choices have been a great relief and blessing to me. Last year, 2025, was enormously difficult for me physically, emotionally and mentally. I was badly injured by a caregiver who really didn't want to be with me. She wanted to run my life instead of letting me make my own decisions. Everything was a struggle. I am still dealing with the pain and suffering from her carelessness almost a year later. You, however, are the complete opposite of that caregiver. You show genuine care, compassion and empathy to me. At the same time you keep a close watch on me for my episodes, for any unusual reactions, for changes in my body or mind that may indicate something physically is about to happen or something that is happening without my knowledge. Your daily care of me is exceptional. Everything from reading my body signs or noticing that I am in the middle of a call, task or just not ready. Yet, you come back or tell me it's getting late for something we have scheduled. This may be as simple as my breakfast or as important as helping me to get ready for my doctor appointments, my bloodwork or therapy. You encourage me to try many things that can help my health, mood or my outlook for the day. Such as, helping me relearn my Spanish while I help you with English, or walking around the house with my gait belt and walker. You keep me on top of my goals. These can be as basic as making my bed every time I get up (in the morning and after my nap). In fact, this helped me create and continue this habit. Another goal of mine is building my strength and stamina enough to walk around outside my home. This has not happened yet, as I have been primarily bed bound since February 19, 2025. You encourage my stretching in bed to keep my body as limber as possible. This helps reduce injury in case of a fall. My personal Internist, Dr. Fondren of Newport Beach certainly appreciates your encouragement and reminders to help me to regain the strength I have lost since February 2025. (when a different caregiver injured me). Once I have regained a little more endurance, then I can start physical therapy. Finally, my family has been at peace with you being my main caregiver and I love how well you and Gabbi work together caring for me. Just knowing how dependable you both are, how you communicate with each other changes, concerns and even my meal planning and cooking. My sister and my son (they both call me almost every day) are amazed that I finally have a team like you and Gabbi. Thank you Veronica for everything and I look forward to 2026 being a great year with continued great care!
