Was looking to support a small local business but was refused entry for not masking. I will continue to go to home Depot and Lowes who never ask me to leave. Was sad that Ace store that had zero customers would refuse one. I will not shop at Ace with other options. Great store - always has pretty much everything I need. But - bought a chain saw today for my son-in-law then after I got it home - discovered you have to have chain saw oil before you use it. Being a woman, I had no idea. I would have appreciated it - and assumed it should have been suggested by their customer service people - that I might want to purchase the oil while I was there. Would have saved another trip back to the store. Maybe they don't train people as well as they used to. But otherwise - it's a very nice local store and next time I buy something like that, I will ask if they know of anything else I need to go with it. LOL :) read more

This is the place to get help with your projects. I'm a 1st time home owner so I'm not sure where to start but I am able to go to this store and the employees obviously have more training than the other big box stores. Its frustrating to be at the home depot or lowes and ask them a question and they don't know a dam thang. Just there to collect the check. Except that old man that works at lowes and he wears a military vest. He is the man who knows what he is doing.. It is our favorite local hardware go to place. We always go there unless we absolutely need to go to the big box stores. Sometimes it is more sometimes it is less. Last trip Devin waited on us. It was such a joy to have a helpful, actually offering to stack and load pls amount of potting soil. He went above and beyond. Now this store is always helpful. But he was just a joy, in a world so chaotic lately. We smiled all day long. You will not get that at a box store. Plus this is local owned, not a big corporation. read more

Called prior to driving out there, I asked the the associate if they had candleabra base compact Florescent, she said "yes", I drove all the way up to Oakley to find out they didn't have it and that they didn't know the difference between incandescent and florescent, not good for a hardware store. read more

If you even think for a moment all ACE Hardwares are like your home store (in my case is Brentwood) THINK AGAIN! I was in my home store an hour prior and accidentally bought the wrong color Christmas lights. I went back to my store where they sold out of the color I wanted. In a pinch I called Oakley Ace. Over the phone the young man said they would do an even exchange with my receipt and he'd leave the lights at the front. Awesome! I thanked him and thought thank god it's going to be an easy inconvenience. WRONG! As the young man was trying to ring up the exchange he called upon a manager I'm assuming named Danielle, she told me since I used a coupon at the other store I'd have to pay the difference and they wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Also since my "old lights" (the ones I have owned for one hour) they no longer carry and she technically shouldn't even return because now my single set old lights will sit on her shelves all season and not sell. I said you know what I will wait and take them back to Brentwood.. before I could even finish she was voiding the transaction and walking away. Such attitude and so much for "friendly hardware folks" Merry Christmas Oakley Ace, first and last time I will ever be there! read more

Awesome local hardware store. Went in for the memorial sale and was worried they would not have any left due to the great prices. They had plenty of stock on hand and I was able to pick up the planters at a great price cheaper than Its competitors. I think this location is locally owned not sure but if it is nice job. read more

I am so happy to have this store and employees as the hardware store most conveniently located to my house. I receive excellent customer service every time I step foot in this store. In particular, the assistant manager (I wish I knew his name) has been very helpful and kind on several occasions. There is a lady who works the register who is always helpful finding stuff in store and one time she took my name and number so she could call me about a certain product they had in storage (and she called me within two hours and put the product on hold for me.) I am also impressed with their youngest staff members who are especially helpful and courteous for their age. I never would have thought to review a store like this but it is truly exceptional. read more

Best Ace Hardware Ive ever been to. Now I know what your thinking...."whats so special about an Ace Hardware." Well I can tell you. It's so hard to find businesses these days that have "Owners." What I mean by an owner is an employee who comes to work and knows that he/she are going to treat their company like they own it, even if they're a cashier or what have you. It's too often now a days that we go into businesses and employees are "renters". There for that pay day Friday. This Oakley Ace Hardware has very nice employees and the store is kept extremely well organized. There is this one employee and I will not name him on here, but he has helped me numerous times. Ive even had some real weird issues and know that if I go to Home Depot or Lowe's I'm not going to get the knowledge and respect that this Ace Hardware has to offer. I know it may be a couple bucks extra for going to a small hole in the wall place like this, but it's well worth it. Well done guys. Keep up the good work. read more

Love having a huge hardware store so close to our house! I was pretty bummed out when the OSH across town went out of business, but stoked when I found out ACE was opening a huge store near our house. Staff has always been super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Really has that small-town hardware store feel, but TONS of stuff. I'd rather shop here than the big-box stores across town, and their sale prices are pretty sweet-gotta watch the ads! Store is always clean, well-stocked, and it's nice not having to feel like a burden asking where a certain item is located. Overall, awesome store. read more

I have never been disappointed with this store. Things are easy to find and there is a wide variety to do household repair. Household "repair" is the key factor here. They are not like the "big box" with material for construction or large projects, but for repairs or a little spruce up around the house they are the place to. I have even gone there just to look around for inspiration for something to do around the house. I love the bags of popcorn sitting by the entrance for customers to snack on while browsing through the store. read more
