But despite all of that, they not only got Mack Truck in right away, but once again, provided top-notch care!! Dr Jackson was AMAZING ! She was very down-to-earth & she made things so easy for us. As I'm sitting here waiting for my dog in my car (they're under construction so it's pets only), I witnessed compassion and flexibility when an owner wanted to come in with their pet. They politely explained why they couldn't have owners come in and the person was still giving anxious vibes but eventually okayed their pet going in without them. Just a couple minutes later, the vet tech and a vet (I'm sorry, I don't know her name. I haven't had her as our vet yet) came out and told the owner that they understood they wanted to come in so instead, they're doing the exam outside. Like, that's so nice and amazing. Also, they do really love what they do. They're happy seeing each pet come in and out. The tech who came out to take my dog cuddled her walking in. They're under construction, but still seeing pets, and it feels very disorganized. Communication is rough I called several times to let them know I had arrived and was stuck on hold for over 10 minutes each time, then hung up and called back. They're running late, be ready to wait at least 30 minutes past your appointment time. Pets are examined in your car or taken in the back door near Strike bowling while you wait. From a pet's perspective, this must be overwhelming: loud construction noises, unfamiliar equipment, and strangers handling them while they're already injured or nervous can feel frightening, stressful, and disorienting. It really feels like during this construction they've lost sight of compassion for animals and what that looks and feels like from both a pet's and a pet owner's perspective. I called Friday but they did not have any availability, so I snagged their 4:30 appointment yesterday. If your pet is a new patient, I'd recommend arriving 10-12 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out the paperwork (basic information and why you are there). I love how cats and dogs have a separate waiting area, but cats will need to go past the dog waiting area when called to the exam room though. They do have a sign that gives/shows love and compassion to those that are having to say goodbye to their loved ones. I really appreciate that, it made me instantly like this office. Adam is/was a stray. We are not sure if he was abandoned or was just a stray that craves for human affection. He walked right up to the trapper and was carried into the trap. He was TNR'd but was deemed very friendly and adoptable so my friend reached out to me. Anyway, fast forward June 29th till now, his demeanor changed once I started or tried to give him antibiotics for an infection. Turns out he has gingivitis which concerned me because the other vet did not see that! He stopped eating, stopped drinking water, hid, and was not his normal affectionate self. This place did a thorough exam, explained every thing in detail, so we agreed on the treatment: glucose spot check, fluids, a cerenia injection, and probiotics. He is in my office and will rest and stay secluded with the humidifier I bought just for him. He seemed better last night. Dr. Boyd and the staff have been wonderfully accommodating of my sudden emergency and are providing my rabbit Luna the best of care. My spouse and I called around local vet offices this morning after a horrifying night of Luna not eating. they were willing to take Luna in a few hours after opening. I had a mishap with gmaps and was over 30 mins late and they still took Luna in immediately. After several hours of well considered tests, I brought Luna home. The staff gave me detailed instructions on overnight care, answered all my numerous questions, and told me to call them the next day so we can discuss how she did through the night. I believe the underlying issue may be different from what the doctor thought, however that's not unusual when it comes to rabbits. They are prey species who mask their symptoms for as long as they can. It's currently 1:32 am and i have noticed Luna was having increasing difficulty standing due to dizziness and eye discharge. I suspect the issue is e cuniculi, rather than a dental malocclusion. As I type this, I did hear her jump into her litter/hay box which is a very welcome sound as it means she's eating on her own! It's clear the staff care very much for their patients. I wasn't left hanging after paying a tidy sum for treatment. They were proactive about an immediate follow-up. Though I'm not feeling great as my rabbit isn't fully healed yet, I'm confident that Dr. Boyd and the staff will do their utmost to help Luna out. I'll update this as the situation unfolds. Our normal veterinary clinic closed due to multiple retirements. Oakridge staff we friendly and welcoming. It was easy to get a first appointment with minimal wait during our first visit. My only concern was the vet did not introduce herself when she came in or ask if I was concerned about anything. As a nurse we are trained to always introduce yourself. She was very good with Lacie, thorough and honest about her condition when we got her lab back. Nothing serious. We will go back in 6 months for more blood. I would recommend them. They take a good care of dogs that have many health problems. My dogs had surgeries performed at the clinic and no issues. The dogs recovered well. But make sure to communicate via text or phone if you have issues transporting your pet and might get late because of it so they are aware. I had one issue in past related to that but seems that was corrected and we like the vet that sees our dogs. The rest works fine. It's been two weeks since I've had to make the dreaded decision that no pet parent wants to make. I had to put Peanut my 12 1/2 year old rabbit to sleep. I was immediately put into a room where I was met with Dr. Singh. He took Peanut to the back for observation and when he came back into the room he let me know that she wasn't very stable. My heart shattered as I knew that meant it was time to say goodbye. I've never had to make this choice before. I didn't think I would be strong enough to make this choice. She was my whole world. Dr. Singh comforted me with this choice. He reassured me I've done everything I can. He was so patient and answered any questions I had. Due to his calmness and reassurance he made that difficult choice turn into me knowing it was the right decision to make. He wasn't my rabbits vet but he still showed Peanut and myself so much kindness and I am so thankful. Jenny was also apart of the process and also showed so much grace and kindness. Now for Dr. Boyd who was Peanuts vet for the past year I couldn't thank her enough. The amount of visits she had with Peanut is more than I could count. She always listened to any concerns I had big or small. From last minute appointments, drop offs, lobby visits you name it Dr. Boyd has been incredible. I truly believe that the care Peanut received from her gave her an extra year of life. It was an incredibly difficult year with different challenges but we always worked out a solution or treatment plan. I am forever grateful for the care Peanut received. I have been to this vet twice. The first visit was unremarkable, but I returned based on positive reviews. At the second visit, I brought my dog in for annual vaccinations and to address a possible allergy related outbreak. Upon review of the medications the doctor recommended, the total was over $800 for the annual visit and four medications related to the outbreak only. I asked whether this included flea/tick prevention and ongoing allergy medication the doctor also discussed and was told it did not. I agreed to proceed due to concern for my dog and her comfort. When I mentioned ordering the flea/tick and allergy medications through Chewy, I was told the practice no longer works with Chewy but would price match. After checking, Chewy's price for the allergy medication was $100 less! I shared this information with the front office, followed up three times, and finally had to visit the office in person to get this resolved. When I asked why they no longer work with Chewy since this process seems very difficult, I was told it was a "corporate decision". After learning the practice was acquired by VetCor, I've decided not to continue care here. I prefer not to use a privately equity owned veterinary practice due to their tendency to have higher prices, less options for purchasing medication, and visits that have a transactional feel. I am so disappointed to say I'm changing vets and will not be back. The front office person I talked to was very polite, it's not an issue with her. It's their clinic protocols. I've been going to this vet for about 9 years. Dr. Singh got me through the most challenging animal issue I've ever had - to put down one of my cats that I adored. He is a wonderful man. I haven't seen him in a while he's always booked but the other Dr.s I've seen have not been as good. The biggest issue is that the minute I feel a vet cares more about money over my animals well being, I get out because I can't trust them anymore. Trust is everything when it comes to a vet because it's hard to make objective decisions when you love your animal so much. You should be able to trust your vet not to unnecessarily charge. I called to get my dog shots, a nail trim, and her anal glads expressed. (Important: she's not having any medical concerns, this is preventative and items she's needed historically that the vet is aware of. She's healthy.) usually they allow a vet tech to do it without an appointment, or at least they have the past 6 years. I was told that an annual exam is mandatory in order for the preventative items I requested above. She's been going to this vet for about 6 years. The anal glands even a groomer can do, I just prefer the vet. This is ridiculous as she's healthy otherwise. I complained and the manager said the best they could do is 50% off the exam cost. There's no reason I could think of that an annual visit is needed, when they know shots are due, they have all her history, she's acting normal, AND her last visit was only about a year and a half ago. The only reason I can think of is that they are trying to make more money. I'm sure they'll make up some compliance reason; however, I've never seen this and I've had animals my entire life. I've never heard an annual exam is required for a preventative request. The vet is fine but I would question if something seems financially off. read more

Called for an emergency appointment, I was thankful they were able to squeeze me in for the day. Offered a drop off appointment, I asked and there was no charge for having him stay for a bit. Didn't get seen till they were about to close. Make sure you read the contract and compare to the bill they give you at the end because these prices will not match, maybe they will after this review who knows. Over charged for items, uped prices from last year for items that are not refundable even if not opened because I already have the original bottle they gave me from last visit (my father that picked him up didn't know). AND they wanted me to bring him in the next day for anesthesia and surgery! Of course I was going to do it if that is what's needed, but I needed a second opinion. Went somewhere else, and whatever abscess the first place was stating got smaller over night (I believe was just irritation from scratching), did shots and such as an alternative. The second place cost for that day was more expensive than this places plan, (but Oakridge did call later about if I wanted culture results which would be $~200 more, which I refused). I'm pretty sure majority of these good reviews are probably from it being in a good location to meet for all the people living in this area. And that's why I choose this place at first; reviews and location. But after the care and non urgency my dog received. I'll suck it up and find a different place. Yes maybe their plan is what best they thought to go about it..but no. This drastic plan to possibly not even have my dog at the end of this scary procedure. I'm glad I didn't go through with surgery from this place when I dropped him off for an emergency appointment only to be seen at the end of the day. read more

We have a 4 month old sheepadoodle and have been very happy with the service here. We see Dr. Munoz and she has answered every question I have had very thoroughly. They still have you wait in the car during the appointment and go through the exam via a phone call after. I'm very happy with this form of appointment. They are efficient and can focus on the animals. They have caught Giardia and a mite problem that our Nova had right when we got her. I trust all of their advice.The staff seems to genuinely love animals too which makes a big difference for the level of care. It seems like pets get good medical care here. However, the pricing is not transparent at all. I called to make a new pet appointment and they wanted me to pay for the appointment up front. No problem. I paid $120.00 for the new patient appointment and thought that was that. At the end of our first check up (that I thought I had already paid for) I was handed a bill for HUNDREDS of dollars more, on top of what I had already paid. I was never informed that I was signing up for a "Puppy Package". This puppy package included all kinds of stuff that I was never asked about. Like antibiotics and flea and tick meds that you can get on Amazon for WAY cheaper. They assured me all future visits were only $16 as part of the "Puppy Package". I reluctantly paid. I went back to the next check up as I expected the cost to already be covered. Once again, at then end of what was nothing more than a simple check up, and the bill at the end was hundreds. So I looked over the bill and declined a bunch of stuff that I had never even agreed to in the first place. When the new bill was brought out it still included items I had declined. To be fair, that part may have been an honest mistake, as they apologized and fixed it after I pointed it out. Long story short, I felt that the pricing was very deceptive. read more

So my dog Malia was having issues, not eating, digestive problems and acting lethargic. I was afraid she could have swallowed one of my grand niece's toys, so I wanted to get her examined and x-rayed. I called my usual vet, but they could not see her for over a week, so I went looking for another vet. I called Oakridge Veterinary because it got good reviews and was close to my home. I got an appointment the next day! The doctor was thorough and eliminated any physical injury, so she recommended an x-ray to rule out an foreign objects in her stomach. Luckily the x-rays came back clear, so the doctor gave Malia medicine for basically an upset stomach. The next day, Malia was acting much livelier and like herself. What impressed me was the fact that Tiffany texted me not once, but twice, to check on Malia's progress. My old veterinarian never did that! Looks like I maybe switching vets! read more

First, I want to say that OVC used to be great before the pandemic as we were their customers for the past 3 years. I usually took my pup Butter here because they took season-appropriate pictures for Butter and he seemed to like them. Today we came back for his regular checkup, a 9:45-am appointment on Saturday 9/4. The staff were very rude to us. First, we showed up 5 minutes earlier than our scheduled time as a courtesy. I let them know that we were here for our appointment. Then SILENT! No one let me know what was going on, like "Please wait here while we're getting ready". So I sat Butter down in the waiting room and waited. 10 minutes passed. I saw another customer walking in and they were greeted with such heartwarming service, taken right into the room. Needless to mentioned that I am Asian and the other customer who was treated like king was Caucasian. Another 5 minutes passed and nothing! No one said anything to us. I walked up to the front desk staff and asked why Butter had to wait this long while we showed up on time. And still no one let us know what was going on or at least thanked us for our patience. I work in customer service industry so I know the courtesy of treating all customers equally regardless of their skin color or financial status. It's not like we cannot afford to pay for our visit and ask for their charity either! Butter wasn't even weighed as this was his general visit and they usually weighed him before taking him into the room. I wasn't invited into the room with Butter either. Oh wait, we didn't even have a room and any chance to talk to the vet!! It was a quick "I'll take him to the back" and boom, 5 minutes later, done! I still had many questions and concerns I needed to discuss with the vet. I was debating whether I should demand the service we deserved; but on second thought, I will not be coming back here again. My rabbit has been acting weird since yesterday, no eating or drinking so I brought him in today. Although he was not himself he was able to stand and sit and hold his weight. After his examination I was informed that he has been consuming carpet which is now plugged into his system. After fluids and xray were taken of him, he was discharged. He came home unable to hold his own weight, spasms and within an hour of bringing him home, he has passed away. I called the clinic before he passed asking what could I do and they said "you can bring him back but we close at 6 so you will need to figure something out". I then called every veterinary u could think of and they kept recommending different places and by the time we were still on the phone, appa my 16 month old rabbit has died in my hands. I immediately dropped to my knees holding him and crying uncontrollably. I don't know if he would of been better if the vet kept him under observation or if they could of helped him survive a bit longer. I understand that my rabbit was in critical condition and that the vet were treating him. But I felt like they could of at least kept him and continue treating him UNTIL I could find an urgent care for him. It felt like they just wanted to give up and send him on his way "because they close at 6". We had an appointment and everything so to find a pet in need and the position of them being a vet, they should do everything in their power to continue helping him regardless of whatever time they close.
