I took my truck here in 2023 for transmission rebuild. Don Pittle held my vehicle fir 4 months the first time. When the repair lasted less than a month I took it back only to be without the vehicle for 8 months. When I got it back it lasted only a few weeks before it was broken down again. Best customer service I have received in my 20 years of being in GA. They go above and beyond and are fair and honest!

These people need to work on their customer service tremendously !! Please don't take your vehicle there for service ! They will not check to see what's wrong for a week, then keep your vehicle for another week . There are also way too many vehicles in the yard itself . The shop and the area around the shop looks like a junkyard . There are only 3 mechanics working . Maybe if they had one more mechanic, then maybe they could finish quicker and not keep people cars for more than a week or two . My husband had a transmission issue and I promise you the issue started in last November and it just ended last week . The transmission that he bought was purchased with a warranty but it didn't last for the three months that it was purchased for . We took our vehicle back in February thinking that they would honor the warranty . We literally debated with them going back and forth about having a warranty . We took our vehicle home and received a phone call from them saying that we were right about having a warranty . Because we were going out of town that weekend we waited to take the vehicle back the following week . Then we had to wait again for a week and a half for another transmission to come in . It took them another week to put it in again ! We got charged 800 some odd dollars for the installment . read more

Long read... Have to start out saying if I could give less than 1 star I would, -10 out of 5. That's still probably too generous I dropped my truck off to them after speaking with them and trying to find a transmission shop that could work on my truck. Had a leak coming from transmission, 33 year old truck seals were more than likely just old. Dropped my truck of on June 1 and didn't receive it back until July 11 and I never received a call from them til a day or so before I picked it up. I called nearly daily and was told I'd receive a call back to tell me what was going on with my truck and what the cost estimate would be but never got a call back for over a month. Got my truck back and a week and a half later I couldn't shift into gear and my shift knob was hitting the dashboard (manual transmission) and still not going into gear. Brought it back and they had my truck for over another week and told me they didn't know what I did to the transmission cause two bolts fell out where the gear shift was. Never had this issue in 16 years of owning the truck but a week after getting it back from them it's my fault not the people who literally just worked on and took apart the transmission to "fix" it, had to pay for that as well. Not 24 hours later after getting my truck back for the second time it is still leaking profusely from transmission worse than when I brought it in originally. I told them and they said they fixed the issue and it shouldn't be leaking, even though I showed them pictures of the leak getting bigger. They said I was going to have to pay a third time for them to work on it even though I already paid them to do a job that they only made worse. Now I have to wait for an undisclosed amount of time again for them to actually fix my truck. Horribly rude to me every time I called back when all I wanted to know what was going on with my truck or how much it was going to cost me, like I was annoying them by calling asking about my truck. They made it seem like a problem that I gave them business All I wanted was to get the leak fixed and it's turned into more money and time than it ever should have been. Literally had to rent a car just so I could get groceries because they refused to help/call/update me on what's going on. Left in the dark for a month and a half and it's still not correct. I would never bring my car here ever again even if someone paid me. It's worth it to go further away to actually get help and good service. Save yourself the time and money, terrible business and rude people to work with. read more

Left my truck to be fixed and was given a quote of around $750. No one called for weeks. I called everyday and reminded them to please let me know before exceeding any work over the $750. Heard from no one. Bill came back at $1600. Over double!!! Then while they were text driving after the repairs they ran into the back of another vehicle and wrecked my truck. Never did anything to try to make things right. I had to call their insurance company to get my truck fixed. Bad business!!! read more

Beware stay away Had my 2008 Dodge Dakota Sport for over 11 days.Was supposed to be a solenoid in trans. replaced. Claims it was replaced . NO drove 12 miles engine light came on. Went back said it was something else left it at the shop. Called everyday was told ordering parts. NO! I went back on Friday it was supposed to be done. Well Donald decided to install a rebuilt transmission. NO phone call just did it. round $3grand. Well i made it 20 miles check engine light came on. When a on Tuesday oh Donald sez i know what it is small plug on trans. Come back tomorrow. came back installed part .I paid for the $145. didn't get out parking lot. This guy only knows to trap your vehicle and take your money. He said bring it back I know what it is. I went to Hayes 30 minutes had an answer , took 2 days to get part.Went back, 2 hours in stalled part. $840.00 FIXED DONALD WAS SUPPOSED TO DO OIL CHANGE DIDN'T DO IT. Oakwood Transmission is a waste of time . I've read other reviews Donald gets your vehicle and holds it. STAY AWAY STAY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. Brought my 11 year old Caravan in with what I was sure was a transmission problem. Donald test drove it, looked under the hood, and told me the problem was not the trans at all. Disappointed, Frustrated and my car was never even worked on. This business is too busy and underestimates the time it will take them to do the work. Maybe they do good work? Who knows, I never got the chance to find out. If they would have told me they couldn't get to my car for a couple weeks I would have taken it somewhere else and saved myself the headache. My total cost for nothing: $610.00 65.00 to have my car towed to them because they said they could repair it. 320.00 for a rental car for two weeks. 125.00 to have my car towed out of there somewhere else. 100.00 to Oakwood transmission for the diagnostic test. I would not recommend this business unless the vehicle you need to be worked on is not your primary transportation. read more

When you are 3 states away and your car quits what do you hope for? Top notch repairman Sam at this shop. We were referred by a local mechanic who told us they did good work. Car towed there by an affordable company recommended by Sam. He then quickly identified our problem. Showed us the parts and explained why they quit working. Within a day he had rebuilt our transmission. He even gave us a discount from a local ad! He gave us a warranty and explained how it can be honored when we return to Mississippi. He even pointed out other repairs we will need soon. They do work other than transmissions: rebuild engines... suspensions. Would definitely use again!!! read more

I really wouldn't even give this place 1 star. Not only my vehicle but my husbands and my moms vehicle was worked on there and all 3 got new tranmissions and within 1 1/2 yrs all 3 had to be replaced. Do not waste your time or money going to this place. read more
