My nail tech today also did a lovely job with the nail design. She was very skilled and meticulous with her work (grooming, polish and design) so I expect this set will last longer than my last. If you're getting a Russian mani, take note that you can expect it to take nearly 2 hours, so feed the parking meter accordingly. Overall, I am happy with my experience and will be back. :)

However, there are several statements in your reply that are not accurate. I did not approve the final gel color. After I was told the salon did not have the exact shade from my reference photo, an employee selected what he said was the closest match. As soon as the polish was applied, I immediately said it looked purple/pink, not the bright pink I had requested. I was repeatedly told that it was "pink," despite my concerns that it did not resemble the color I came in for. I made a phone call because I genuinely wanted a second opinion to make sure I wasn't imagining the difference. After confirming that the color was not what I wanted, I decided I no longer wanted the polish. That decision was based on the final result, not because I suddenly "changed my mind." It's also unfair to suggest that your shop closing during my appointment was somehow my responsibility. Before coming in, I called and let the salon know I was on my way. Whoever answered the phone told me that was perfectly fine. If there wasn't enough time to complete the service without it extending past closing, the appointment should not have been accepted. I should not be made to feel rushed or pressured because the service continued after business hours. I also felt pressured to pay for a service I was unhappy with before my concerns were fully addressed. I think they need to be careful with that because personally, if I have an appointment, I expect to be seen at my appointment time or wait no more than 5- 10 minutes. We all have places to be, right?? Especially when you're booking with someone because you specifically want THAT person. Nails at Southshore is definitely on the smaller side. There aren't a ton of pedicure chairs, I'd say six total and there's not really a waiting area besides literally two folding chairs lol, so that's one thing I think they could improve. BUT, they do seem pretty efficient at getting people in and out. Also, this next part is absolutely NOT their fault but South Shore management really said, "You know what would be perfect right outside a nail salon? A children's playground." So either come with AirPods or be prepared to hear kids screaming while you're getting your nails done because Lily's station is literally right at the front door. I was fighting for my life LOL. Anywaysssss, back to Lily- She's super sweet, VERY talented, took her time and care with my design and absolutely nailed what I wanted. Basically, she's my new nail girl now. I'm locked in. (Photo is 4 weeks out as I failed to take a photo after getting them done. Still looks amazing!)

I broke one nail the night before and asked for a gel x one to replace the broken nail. My hope was to maintain the length that I worked hard to grow. The technician chose a nail that didn't fit my finger at all. Proceeded to awkwardly place the nail and glued/cured it down. Not only is it lifted and separated, it's misaligned. I can literally fit a metal file between the real nail and the pressed on one. When I brought this up, she proceeded to tell me that my nail is crooked and that's the reason for the gap.. *cue angelah Johnson's skit* I asked her to take it off and to try an acrylic nail instead since she didn't seem to keen on gel x. She refused and instead filed the sides more to 'fix it'. Bottom line is this, there's really only one token person who does all the different services well. Everyone else either seems to be fillers for simple manicure and pedicures. I'm tired of spending my hard earned money on techs that don't know how to do something you ask but attempts anyway and will not take accountability for when they mess up. This is not a nail school and the prices don't reflect it either. I now have to pay someone else, somewhere else to fix the one nail after spending $90 here. Let this be a PSA: We work too hard to earn our money for these life luxuries. Don't let shops like this make you feel like you're the problem when you bring up their wrong doing. You deserve to get what you pay for. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.
