Review In Brief: STAY AWAY. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. So, I know that seems to come on a bit strong but take this advice and you will save yourself a world of headache, inconvenience, and most importantly - lost money. I bought a large amount of furniture from this place 10 months back and almost all of it has fallen apart. It probably doest help that 95% of his wood furniture inventory sits outside with no roof to protect from any weather etc....but hey, thats hindsight. One of the biggest pieces I bought was my dining room table. Over the months it developed splits and cracks that got so bad that the table was splitting in half. I called them and they were "so nice". They came to pick it up and promised to replace it immediately within 3 days. It's been 4 weeks now. I've called them numerous times and each time I called I was told a different story about why they have been unable to replace the table. They kept delaying and delaying with any one of a dozen different excuses (cant reach the supplier, its out of stock, they dont make this model anymore, this supplier went out of business etc etc). Eventually, I just asked to have my money back - and to my utter amazement, Dave - the really helpful smiling owner who will treat you like a king until the moment he has your money in his hand - finally admitted that there was no way they were going to replace the table. He offered to send me back my own split table which he had picked up because it had split and said that there was no way under the sun they were going to refund my money. My choices were to take the pieces of my broken table back or take the pieces of my broken table back. When I expressed my shock at his response he told me that it was a shame, too bad - and that he had to go, and then he summarily hung up on me. So that you're aware - the table in question cost a thousand dollars, and the dispute was not over whether or not it had been damaged after the fact. He readily accepted responsibility for the damage but literally outright refused to do anything about it. I have honestly never encountered such a response. Typically, the merchant will either blame you for the damage and tell you its your fault or accept some responsibility and try to work something out with you. Dave actually accepted full responsibility...which I thought was pretty amazing, until he followed up with "and so? Its not like I'm going to give you any money back and I cant find a replacement so I dont know what to tell you, good luck". This isn't exactly a dispute of $25 dollars - and when I first made my purchase it was part of $2,400 dollars worth of furniture. I had heard horror stories about other people that Dave had abused and ripped off - and like an idiot I just chalked it up to "another annoying weirdo that I probably would've told to F-off too". That was a huge mistake - this place is the LAST place you should ever consider spending your money. read more

When you receive appalling customer service, it's natural to want to warn the community at large.... Two months ago I worked with a gentleman on customizing bar stools as a response to his repeated claims "we can make whatever you want!". Needing to gather the funds (imagine that, the rare person with money in the bank before making a purchase) and am still in shock from the treatment I received yesterday. I was told they wouldn't (not couldn't) help me and that I snoozed and lost. It wasn't even a matter of a different pricing, that never even came up or was an option, they flat out would not make the stools they designed for me two months ago. When I asked "what's changed since I was last here?" I was told I was denigrating them by asking that question....huh??? Stay away from these wacky people and their unbelievably rude and unreliable customer service. read more

I have bought several pieces of furniture from Paul, who is super cool and no pressure. The selection is great for my style and I like to be able to browse in the sunshine. I stop frequently just to explore because it a fun place to walk around, and it's right next to the beach. The teak table I bought developed a crack on one of the boards. I talked to Paul and he immediately sent his guys to pick it up and refurbish the top at no charge. Are you kidding me? Awesomeness- most shops like this would tell you to go fly a kite. We found this place during a fun drive down the coast and I made my beau stop so I could survey the stuffs. I wanted EVERYTHING. Oasis Imports is a great place. After surfing Top, I came here to look for some outdoor furniture. I saw their stuff on the side of the road a few times and came here on a whim. Anyway, I ended up picking up some floor samples for a good price. A couch, chair, and ottoman for about $1,000+ $35 delivery. Not bad. I was looking for a while and this was a good deal. Oasis was even able to deliver same day. I was going to a concert and couldn't be there to let the friendly salesperson in (Sal). I left the side gate unlocked and he delivered, took a picture, and then sent me a text. Awesome! They have other interesting trinkets around the shop, if you're into that thing. read more

I love how it looks in contrast to our modern architecture. There is a slight chip in it's neck, which Dave said he would fix the next time his guy's in our area. My husband and I have been buying patio furniture from oasis for over 20 years. I can honestly say my entire backyard is furnished by them. The durability of the furniture speaks for itself. If you can leave it out by the beach uncovered, then you certainly can do the same in your backyard! We have never covered any of the furniture. We have priced patio furniture elsewhere and you cannot find the quality of furniture elsewhere for their price point. And once I was there I bought everything I needed - lounge chairs, sofa set with table and all the sunbrella cushions, which are included in the price. We bought our outdoor furniture from Paul and Oasis and couldn't be happier. The stuff is absolutely beautiful but it's about so much more than that. When you buy at Oasis, you get personal treatment that feels like a neighborhood business. The prices are fair, the delivery is prompt and the hands-on customer service is top-notch. As an example, we bought a sectional from Oasis. A few weeks later, I called Paul and asked what he recommended I do about the fact that the pieces were separating on my slippery patio stone. Oasis Imports is a wonderful place. I have driven by it for many years without stopping and now wonder what the heck I was thinking. They have beautiful stuff - tables, chairs, hutches, hand made furniture, pottery, etc. We bought a tile top table made in Morocco and some teak Adirondack chairs for a great price. The delivery guys were on time, careful with our existing things, and really pleasant. On top of the unique selection and good prices, the owner is delightful. He made everything easy. Where do I start? My husband and I were completely shocked to find this incredible outdoor furniture hiding in plain sight. We're native to Los Angeles and must have driven by this store thousands of times! CUSTOMER SERVICE The customer service at Oasis Imports is incredible. Paul Brown (who I believe is a manager) walked us through all of options and patiently worked with us as we ironed out final details. He provided us with excellently suggestions and never once made us feel as though he had somewhere else to be. After we made our choices, we scheduled delivery and we're told that we could return any item we decided to. What an unparalleled experience to shopping with the typical catalog/main stream stores where returns for home delivery options is a nightmare! When I had a question about an item, I was lucky enough to reach the owner (Chris?) and without hesitation, he scheduled a pick up and replacement of an item. He did so happily and without me having to beg and plead. I just couldn't believe it. The delivery team (especially Rony and Alex) and the service they provided was great. They were on time and professional. STORE & ITEMS Oasis Imports offers a wide range of styles ranging from rustic, to beaches, to wrought iron, to wicker alternatives. There is truly something for everyone at this store. You custom pick the fabrics for your cushions and the numerous choices make process and furniture even more personal as the choices are almost endless! I suggest that you wait until you have the furniture delivery and confirm the pieces you want to keep BEFORE you place/confirm your cushion order as the cushions are not returnable. Pablo is a very unscrupulous employee. I rarely write reviews. But sadly, I must let you all know of my negative experience; We have spent well over 10,000 dollars at Oasis, over the years. We have ALWAYS had a great experience with Oasis. This time was horrible. Pablo quoted free delivery, when he wrote up the order he added 199 dollars for delivery. And, said they would leave the Dinning room table in the driveway. We said no thanks, we will pick up the item ourselves. He insisted on the delivery charge non the less. When we called him out, Pablo said this BS and acted very angry. In fact Pablo was unhelpful from the get go. This is unfortunate as we have always tried to support our local businesses, here in Malibu. read more

Had the BEST EXPERIENCE at Oasis Imports recently when ordering a new, huge outdoor setting of couches, cushions and side tables. I am so sick of bait and switch, downright falsehoods or a lazy demeanor from salespeople, wrong or broken products delivered, etc., that I hesitated to trust Paul Brown (oasis mgr) and his representations. My products were delivered on time by a friendly, helpful and wonderful man. The products exceeded my expectations-- including a complimentary upgrade to a higher quality Sunbrella material. SO so astonished that I called Mr. Brown to thank him. Many things could have gone wrong with the order. None did. I will never go anywhere else in Los Angeles for outdoor products. Highly recommend. Now that he's gone, the stuff they carry is not nearly as interesting as it used to be, the new guy Paul is rude and disinterested in selling you anything without gouging you for money. I have owned several pieces of furniture from Oasis Imports since 2010. In 2015 while I was pregnant with our first child, my husband and I purchased a new dining table and matching bench seat from them. Our son was born in December of that year. At his 1-year well-visit his pediatrician did a routine blood test for lead, which is an incredibly neurotoxic metal in young children, causing irreversible damage at even the lowest levels of exposure. His level came back elevated, at a level of 3.0. I had my own blood tested and my lead level was 2.0, which is also concerning, although not nearly as concerning as a lead level of 3.0 in a 1-year old. We immediately scheduled a home lead inspection, which did detect lead in a few areas of our (1962) home, although they were not areas likely to have caused the lead poisoning in our baby. Still, we addressed the issues and then re-tested our son's blood, but it remained elevated. Over the next two years we tested his blood every few months (7 times in total) while at the same time desperately (and unsuccessfully) trying to detox him with various supplements and foods. His lead level remained unchanged. Finally, at the end of last year, I employed Tamara Rubin, "Lead Safe Mama," (expert on lead-poisoning, and the mother of 3 lead-poisoned children) to do a home consultation with us. Unlike the lead inspector who came to our house two years ago, Tamara was able to test not just our house but everything in it, including furniture, toys, dishes, cooking utensils, etc. We discovered that our Oasis Imports kitchen table and bench seat, which my son had been sitting at, sitting on, eating off, and playing under for his entire short life, tested positive for lead at a level far beyond the legal limit set for furniture of 90 parts per million. The tabletop tested positive for lead at 274ppm, positive for arsenic at 44ppm, and the bench seat tested positive for lead at 1,400ppm! Tamara was confident that she had found the source of our son's lifelong lead exposure, and we removed the table and seat from our house immediately. A month later we retested his blood, and FINALLY, after 3 years, the level had dropped from a 3.0 to a 2.0. In the same time period my own lead level dropped from a 2.0 to a 1.0. I'm hopeful that the next time we test it will have dropped further. As much as I love their furniture, I will never purchase anything from Oasis Imports again. There are no guarantees that any of their products are held to appropriate legal standards regarding toxic and carcinogenic heavy metals such as lead and arsenic. Personally, even 90ppm lead is far too much - I expect my furniture to be 100% lead-free. This is ESPECIALLY important if you have babies or children in your home. I would also encourage all parents of young children to have their child's blood lead level tested regularly, starting from no later than age 1. Request the test if it is not offered automatically at your pediatrician's office, and make sure the test results go down to at least a 1.0, preferably lower. Any amount of lead in children's blood has been deemed unsafe. Ideally you want to get a result less than 1. If not, your child is being exposed by something in their direct environment, and you should work to find out what it is and remove the source. The damage from lead is sadly irreversible, and sometimes the effects don't show up for some years (common effects are learning and behavioral difficulties). By the way, I of course let Oasis Imports know about this. The manager was very kind, but the owners and manufacturers refused to acknowledge the validity of the testing result, since Tamara Rubin is not a professional lead inspector (just a lead expert!). I received no apology from them for lead-poisoning my baby, no refund, no store credit. We did return the table and bench seat to them, and I can only hope they didn't resell it. : ( I personally don't trust them, especially not after the dismissive way they handled this situation. read more

I don't normally buy anything but burgers from roadside stands and really wasn't expecting much when we stopped in. We were just intending to browse and compare to what I've been considering buying online. Of course we ended up buying our backyard set right on the spot! Paul was so helpful and patient walking my wife and I through the many options available... Such a pleasant surprise from the normal shopping experience. The furniture isn't inexpensive, but I can say definitively that it isn't cheap. Sometimes you do get what you pay for and based on our interactions with Paul and the rest of the staff there, I have no regrets. I absolutely loved the piece of furniture I picked out ,a wood table, exactly the length I wanted and 8 leather chairs. The price was affordable, but the love affair stops there. The base to my table, not ready when they delivered the table. They gave me an alternate and told me they would deliver the new one when it was ready. 3 of the chairs had problems and since we received the table the finish has chipped. All noted on my invoice, so there would be no doubt as to the action that needed to be taken. Over 6 weeks, muliple phone calls and a visit back to the "oasis" they still have not performed. Next, a formal letter demanding either my money back or finish the job, if no reply small claims court here we come! Amended 9/21/10 After I received my table which was wrong, they delivered another table, no kidding about 6 months later. This time the base did not fit on the table. Back to the shop. About a month after that my table was delivered this time with the wrong base finishing. It is wrought iron and should of been silver not black. At this point, I gave up and just said to leave the table. I had 3 chairs that either had scratches on them or were wobbly. They no longer carried them and asked that I return all 8 and choose some other chairs. If you can't buy the item right then and there, don't buy it at all! I thought the prices was reasonable for a dining room table and 8 chairs, but the aggrivation was not worth it. I'll never shop there again. read more

I have received a good customer service, I have made him do replacements which not a lot of people do these days. Overall a very satisfying experience and I RECOMMEND this treasure hunt. read more

The table delivered was not exactly what we expected; so, I called the owner (David) and made arrangements to exchange it for another one. Previously have bought various pieces of furniture over the years. Recently bought a substantial amount of outdoor furniture. The furniture arrived quickly and without a problem. However, the firepit we bought has been a disaster and has exposed major flaws in their customer service. Repeated calls went unanswered. Then promises by the warehouse that the firepit would be delivered by a date certain repeatedly were broken. Finally, weeks after the firepit was supposed to be delivered, it was dropped off but without any of the specially ordered glass that was the central focus of the design. We are terribly disappointed in their service. read more
