For some reason, after living six years in Ridgecrest, I have never been to this place. Even though they building is not very impressive but rather simple, the food is really flavorful. First thing you will notice when you get inside is a big welcoming smile. I had huevos rancheros and they were delicious!!! I love this place! The service is great and the owner is so friendly and inviting every time I see her. The $1 tacos on Wednesday's are so yummy. You have to get the green sauce. It is magical. My all time favorite meal from here is definitely the chicken flautas! They opened their drive through during COVID which has been so convenient! I am surprised this place has such a high rating. The interior was pretty dingy, which I guess a lot of hole in the wall Mexican restaurants are, but when you lean your arms on the table I expect to pick them up again and not have the table cloth glued to you from whatever the person who ate there before left behind. The food was fine. Nothing grand, but nothing to complain about. It took 50 minutes to get our food, which when you're there with kids is a tough wait. The couple that walked in behind us ended up being served, eating their meal, and checking out all before we ever saw our food. When our food did come out, my fajitas were room temp. I didn't bother complaining. I wouldn't come here again, but also wouldn't tell people it's bad. I was just unimpressed and felt the food cost more than it was worth. read more

Called in an order for a veggie burrito and it was fantastic. I called in my order and was hoping to pay over the phone, but that was not an option. There was a bit of crowd, but that is to be expected because it was lunch time. They gave me a side of their avocado salsa and it was creamy and delightful. The only thing that was a little of a bummer is that their menu says their veggie burrito is $6.49, but they charged me $8.49, but hey it's Ridgecrest and the food was good. read more

I was in town paying a quick visit to family, and we decided to go here after scouring Yelp for the other options in town and deciding that we might as well try a place we haven't been to before. Situated between a number of auto body and parts shops on Inyokern Road, it's easy to overlook - particularly as the drab sign outside the restaurant belies the colorful interior when you step inside. You can either order at the register for takeout or have a seat and get your order taken and food brought out. The lady who was handling the service was in good spirits and had a sense of humor, and she got our food orders in pretty quickly...it was getting the check and heading out that took a bit more time than we would have preferred. All said, though, the ambiance is one of casual coziness. The food itself is very good here - cheap and delicious, without overdoing it on any ingredients (salt in particular). The tortilla chips and salsa to start are pretty standard-issue; the side of guacamole that we ordered was a welcome addition and freshly made. I ended up going with a carnitas taco and the beef version of the salbute yucateco. The carnitas tacos were simple - juicy, tender shredded pork served on a tortilla, doused in a generous amount of cilantro, and a lime wedge to drizzle over. Nothing complicated but very well-executed. I preferred it over the salbute yucateco, which was a bit thicker to eat due to the fried tortilla - but it didn't add anything in particular to the overall dish. The beef was good, if not at the same level as I felt the carnitas were. In short - a very affordable meal and one of the better Mexican places I have been to in town. I really do not understand why this place has such good reviews, which is what swayed me to eat here. Last week I ate here for the first time, their asada tacos, I specially asked for salsa which I did not get. The food tasted okay but I definitely caught a stomach bug from it. Thinking maybe it was something else I ate and all the amazing reviews I tried again this weekend, again no salsa and again stomach bug. I had their tamales this time and it was pretty gross, it was crumbly and dry, a microwave tamale tastes better. This time my boyfriend ate with me and he is more sick than I am. Went there because of the reviews, they did not disappoint. The service was pleasant and food was great. I tried the beef empanada, it was ok, also tried the mini chicken tamales, they were amazing. As a recent Los Angeles /Inland Empire transplant 2 Ridgecrest I found it's very daunting to find a suitable Mexican spot. The Oasis is definitely the closest you will find two home cooking anywhere up here. Have been here a handful of times and each time have ordered their soup of the day and each time they knocked it out of the park. Have tried their carnitas rice and beans and all are on point. They have a great jalapeno salsa that you won't find anywhere else I actually bought a bottle for me to take home. My Favorite Tamale! Tried Tamales In Colorado, in Texas, & most Mexican places I go. These are just right : fluffy , mild = just how a tamale ought to be. Fish tacos were incredibly good! Burrito is very good. Tamale do not seem home made. They look like they come out of a plastic package and microwaved. Their cilantro, carne asada, onion tacos are also REALLY good. My one complaint is that I saw a couple walk into the restaurant with no mask ( currently the COVID19 requirement is to wear a mask in restauraunts) ) and head to kitchen area of the restaurant. I think they knew the workers there or were friends with some of them. The guy came out the side door with a container full of ice and proceeded to his vehicle to load the container of ice. The woman proceeded to walk by the workers without wearing a mask, grab a empty cup near wear the food is prepared, open up the fridge and sort around for some ice tea. She poured the ice tea and said thanks and headed out the side door of the kitchen and then out of the building. This all happened without a mask where food is prepared and packed for customers. What's the point of requiring a mask for all the employees of the establishment if they let people (friends or family?) into the area where the FOOD IS PREPARED without a mask. The restaurant is great but what they did today is worrisome even if the positive cases in our area is less than 100.. read more

Chose this place because it had decent reviews and was close to the Naval Base where I was staying. The woman who helped us (the one with beautiful eyes!) was very friendly and attentive.
