I moved to the area here last October and have heard good things about Oasis. I have been here a couple times so far. First time I got a baked potato and it was one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. It was loaded with meat, avocado, cheese, sour cream, and it lasted me three meals it was so big. The next time I went I got there dollar tacos on Wednesday night. Be sure to call ahead to place your order because we ended up waiting 45 minutes to get our food to go. We tried all the tacos and they were delicious. I think the chicken ones were my favorite. Everyone who works in there is really nice. Definitely the best Mexican in ridgecrest! Their food is super delicious and give you very good portions! Also their green salsa is so amazing and is super spicy! They are relatively low in price. Came here for lunch yesterday with some co workers. I ordered 2 tacos and the oasis hot burrito. both entrees were great but the best thing was the green sauce. wow, I put green sauce on every bite of my burrito. definitely gonna have to come back later to buy some of their green sauce in container to go. The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that my group were basically the first ones there at the lunch hour (11am) and once the place got packed, we were one of the last ones to get our food. I got the asada tacos and they were very good! You can really taste the difference in the homemade tortillas. Big kudos to the restaurant for making things homemade! We really appreciate it. Service was great, and the kitchen looked very clean. Only minor complaint was that my soda was flat, but aside from that, this is a great place for relatively inexpensive mexican food. The California burritos are pretty good. I also like the tacos. Service is friendly and fast. Pretty standard Mexican food. Close to base so that's a plus. They also have frequently flier cards so your tenth meal is free. Lunch today cost $12 dollars and some change for two of us. read more

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in Ridgecrest. There was a problem with my order and woman I spoke with was disgustingly rude to me, and would not let me get a word in edgewise, preferring to cut me off over and over and being just belligerent and rude. According to the person I was with, she is the owner of the restaurant. I will never spend another dollar here for bland food that tastes like nothing, and I will not return somewhere that when they make a mistake they are not willing to fix it. First and last time here. Hands down the WORST service I've received in my life. The food was mediocre at best and the staff was absolutely unprofessional, borderline racist, and probably some questionable health violations going on. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone after the crap their staff pulled tonight. My experience here started with a 15 minute wait just to be attended to. The hostess/ waitress told us our party would be seated after they cleaned an available table, so we waited. Next thing we know someone else is seated at our table. There is no sense of organization at all. After another 10 minutes of waiting, we ended up seating ourselves at a table as soon as another party left, the waitress attended to us about 7 minutes after we had sat down. She cleared the table from the previous party's order then took down ours. We're making all kinds of jokes to try an make this night better and she asks us how we were going to split up the checks. There's 4 of us but we split the check up to 3 and 1. Most of the group are servicemembers including myself and I joked that it was because I'm "too dark" (there's another guy in our group who's just as dark as I am) to be apart of their check. To which we all laughed at including the waitress who followed up on the joke throughout the night. We mostly ordered from their dollar tacos specials and I ordered 4 of them along with one shrimp taco. Our food is prepared and brought out, everyone except me. The waitress moves on to the next table so we figure the shrimp taco was probably holding it up. While waiting I kept noticing some guy on the kitchen staff kept staring at me. It was probably nothing but still awkward and uncomfortable to be stared at. Around 15 minutes pass by and we're wondering when my order was coming up. That's when I try to get the waitresse's attention. When she does acknowledge me she glared very spitefully while she took another customer's order. She put in their order then comes back with an obviously annoyed tone and asks me "what?". I asked her if my tacos are done and coming out soon to which she repeatedly asks me, "Really?" in disbelief that I have not been served yet. She then tells me that they'll bring the food out at no charge. My friends had finished their food for a while but wait on me while I finally get my food. So she brings out one shrimp taco and it's loaded with Pico de Gallo and like 2 pieces of shrimp. I eat it then waited another 10 minutes and nothing else comes out. Whatever, I got a taco for free. The waitress wrote our order on one ticket so I gave my friend some money to cover my drink and he waits in line to pay. While he's waiting he turns to us and mouths WTF. He told us later that he witnessed them take a used salsa bowl (which still had salsa on the rim) and refill it with new salsa. He eventually gets to the front of the line and that's when they pulled a fast one on us. We can see him trying to sort things out but the cashier wasn't having it. I walk up to try and clear up the confusion and that's when the cashier starts yelling at the waitress in Spanish. Then same waitress who told me that my taco was going to be free, backed out of the offer and told me I had to pay for my shrimp taco and that I'd get the 4 tacos for free(which they skimmed out on). We argued that was not what she had previously told us and she continuously argued back with her changed story. At this point we're fed up, holding up the line and other people's food, and ready to leave. Don't waste your time with this establishment. Your money would be better spent at another Bernardino's, Ehpen Tacos, Golden Ox, or even on Jack in the Box tacos. read more

Some of the best, most authentic Mexican food you will ever taste! The women that rum the place are great! I usually go for $1.00 taco Wednesdays. They are amazing.Although,it doesn't really matter what you order, it's all good. Make sure you take the time to try the home made salsas, I am not much of a salad person, but this stuff is salsa gold! It does get pretty crowded in there, so if you are in a hurry, make sure you call your order in, otherwise sit down, relax and enjoy the great service. read more

Fresh sauces and salsa! The Green sauce is a little spicy and a lot tasty! My favorite dish is the chilequelas in verde, with either the egg or chicken. This is a great day starting breakfast with all the protein and flavor to wake you up. My son, who is a very picky eater, loved everything he was served. Well there food is pretty good but the service is getting worse and worse and kinda rude so after getting my own refills I also get overcharged when I go I try to argue with them but they tell me nonono so I pay (with no tip seeing's how they overcharged me again) so I will not be eating there anymore so make sure you check the bill read more

Just tried the Oasis for the first time and the food was very good. Can you believe they make their own tortillas!! This place may be a bit removed from most of the other restaurants in town but you will not be disappointed. I plan on returning again. Great burritos! They have been my pregnancy DREAM. I also enjoyed the enchiladas. Not greasy or covered in sauce. It looks like they dip the tortillas in sauce before making. We just came back from a delicious dinner at Oasis Mexican Restaurant. I ordered two asada tacos and the bean soup and my husband ordered the bacon jalapenos and the California burrito. We also had the flan for dessert. I was impressed that they had the guts to serve the tacos without cheese or any kind of gloppy sauce. You could taste the fresh cilantro and I squirted a little fresh lime on it for extra pep. The soup was FANTASTIC, with a lovely depth of flavor that you don't find from other restaurants. The California burrito was huge and my husband took half of it home. The bacon jalapenos were stuffed with a cream cheese and though the bacon isn't crispy, it was fully cooked. They had a wonderful smoky flavor without being really spicy. The flan was different than any other flan we have had, with it not being as creamy, but the flavor was very good. The decor is simple, very mom-and-pop, but the restaurant is very clean. We will definitely be back! Hint: They also sell the bean soup in to-go containers up to 32 oz, so take some home! Very friendly staff, but slow service. Very few patrons when we dined; food was brought to the wrong table. Fish tacos were average and served with lettuce instead of traditional cabbage. The cheese enchiladas tasted very bland, and the cheese was not melted. This place used to be my favorite place to go to. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious (I now have my suspicions as to why) and whether I ate in or had take out, the service was always fantastic. However, ever since my last visit, I will NEVER go there again! Just as I finished my order of tacos and took the last sip of my drink, I saw something on the lid...an ant. I thought no biggie and flicked it off. But then I noticed I saw something on the inside part of the lid as well. To my surprise when I opened the cup the entire bottom and all the ice was covered in ants. Now before you go thinking I must have been relaxing somewhere in a park and somehow picked up these friendly critters, I wasn't. I was in my office sitting at my desk, ant free. That's not even the worse part. I KNOW! When I called them to complain, this is what they said (Word for word, no joke), "Oh, uh, okay, well thank you for telling us". WHAT?! No apology, no surprise in their voice, no compensation towards my ant infested bill, no reassurance that this is the first time it has happened and it won't happen again?! When I responded by asking, "is that it?!" She said she didn't know what I wanted her to do and proceeded to offer me free tacos... I politely declined and in awe, hung up the phone. I'm really sad to say I will never go there again, like I said I really enjoyed their food and their staff, but their inability to show any concern for serving their customers insects with their meals is just too much for me to over look. read more

We've been to Oasis three times over the past month or so and have enjoyed each visit. This fits the bill as a simple, reasonably priced taco shop with some really tasty choices in food. Carne asada tacos are as good as it gets and at $2 a pop, a good deal. If you're a fan of bacon-wrapped jalapenos then you'll absolutely want to order a plate of these. They can vary a bit in size and heat from visit to visit, but they have always been cooked nicely with the bacon completely cooked and even browned lightly on the outside. Their chips are tasty and their green salsa (jalapeno, lime, avocado, some light seasoning and cream?) is the best in the valley, hands down. They've had decent specials on the order of $8 for two tacos, beans and rice and a drink when we've gone in the evening. Beans and rice are good (though I'm not really coming for beans and rice when I can eat tacos and stuffed jalapenos!). Service is what you expect from a small family shop, drinks were generally refilled more than often enough and if you need anything, the staff isn't much more than about 10 feet from you at any time anyway. DEFINITELY worth a try if you're in the mood for a good local taco shop! read more
