I love massages and have been seriously lacking in them since I left Asia. The power of massage for improving one's health and overall wellbeing is real, and it's a shame that it's considered an expensive luxury in the USA. I believe that everyone would be much happier and mellow if massages were more affordable or partially covered by health insurance. We can change the world one massage at a time! I have been able to tell that my muscles have become more tense after forgoing massages in Hawaii. Getting a massage was a regular activity that I would partake in to relax and unwind when I lived in Asia. When I decided to finally get a professional massage in Hawaii, I looked for a place that offered traditional Asian massage because Western masseuses don't give strong enough massages in my opinion. Those who love a hard and strong massage will love Oasis Spa. I had a dark room all to myself, a perfect place to stretch out on the recliner and relax during my massage. I opted for a foot massage as well as a 20-minute head and shoulder massage. My masseuse was a petite woman, but her hands were so strong. She started off with ten minutes massaging my head and shoulders. It hurt a bit but also felt amazing. It made me fall asleep halfway through my foot massage. She ended with another ten minutes massaging my head and shoulders. I left the room feeling like a new person. My muscles in my shoulders and legs felt so much looser and relaxed. As I left I was given a stamp card that I'm sure I'll get to the end of eventually because I most definitely plan to return.

This was a lovely treat on a Sunday. I called to make an appointment but you can also book online. They are located in the Alamoana building across from the main level of Alamoana center, on the fourth floor. Our appointment was for 1115 we got there around 11, checked in and waiting in the waiting area. It's a cute cozy spot. I like that they do couple treatments. When it was our appointment time we were walked into a room that had two big white chairs. We were offered tea or water and then we were able to soak our feet in hot water for about 10 minutes, then the massage began. They make sure to focus on all 64 points of your feet. The 60 minute massage includes a calf massage as well. They use a nice soothing lotion that makes your skin feel buttery soft. To end the experience they wrap your feet in hot towels. The staff are friendly and the place is clean. They offer kamaaina discount as well. The total for both of us was $122. Great deal! Can't wait to go back. Reflexology is a great stress reducer, and the therapists know what they are doing!

It was a great experience but I have a few complaints which prevent it from being 5 stars. Couple massage was good. Pressure was good. The parking is just "go check if it's open" and not "this stall is open". If I were the business owner I would improve this to streamline the experience. For as much as I paid for the massage I would have expected parking to be validated. It wasn't. What prevents a five star review: they asked what was sore but they didn't focus on those areas at all. The last 10 minutes of the massage was aggressively rubbing my scalp which didn't feel good and honestly was the worst part of the massage. I'd rather she have massaged my traps/upper back like I had mentioned. My neck and back are still sore today. The search for a massage place that will focus on areas is still ongoing. It seems they all have a script that never is deviated from.

When I arrived, no one was in the office where the business is located. I called the number listed on their business page several times before finally getting an answer. The person showed up 20 minutes late. She had us wait in a building with no A/C. She was rushing around the office and tried to start the session immediately. She was going to be the one giving the massage to both of us? And where were the decorations??? We walked out of that building right away. Extremely disappointed--this ruined my plans for my boyfriend's 30th birthday.

I decided to opt for the 70 minutes service and arrived promptly at the appointment time. It was located in a building on the 29th floor with a bunch of other spa businesses with similar rates of $60 for 60 minutes massages. The interior was not modern looking at all (there was popcorn ceiling all around) and the scent of the place wasn't the most aromatic or pleasant. The masseuse gave me a hybrid Thai and Swedish massage. Parts of it were painful and uncomfortable when the masseuse stepped on my back and literally put all of her weight on me. I told the masseuse that some of the massage movements were painful and she adjusted accordingly to different techniques. After the massage session was completed, my +1 and I were proceeding to the lobby and was offered two complimentary cups of cold water. As we were paying for the massage services, the staff (also my masseuse) provided the $120 price and said directly that this amount doesn't include tip. First off, that was an unnecessary comment and unprofessional. Then as we were giving the cash to tip the two masseuses (she was one of them), the masseuse said give me $20 for the other masseuse and $20 for me. Not only was it completely awkward and uncomfortable, but the audacity! We didn't tip the amount as she demanded since it was insincere and completely uncalled for. Sadly, I don't plan to return at all. Just a fair warning to others considering this place for a massage.

First there's no forms to fill out with areas of concern they just ask you what you want them to focus on and how much pressure. Normally you have a little of the elbows and forearms in the beginning of the message and I know it's not comfortable but it loosens up the muscles for the real massage. It was the entire time, elbows grinding into tight muscles and forearms sliding across bone. I kept thinking we will be moving in to the real massage soon, we never did. 90% of the massage was the back my neck was barely touched, very little time spent in legs or arms and because we got a package that had a scalp massages d foot scrub no time was spent on massaging head, neck or feet. The scalp massage was great, hence the 2 star for how nice they were when we came in and the scalp massage. The hot stones were suppose to be 15 minutes but it was barely 5, the foot scrub was just perfunctory and basically a scrub rubbed on your feet with no emphasize on certain dry areas (my big toes need extra scrubbing and they always do that at pedicures) and no real massaging of the foot. The hand foot and head part of the massage is the best part and we got none of it other than the extra scalp part we paid for. Before we started I mentioned I had a large bruise from yesterday on my shin from running into a metal chair. The first time the area was rubbed I mentioned that's the area, I received a response of "oh ok" and she proceeded to go back to the spot and massage even harder as I pulled my leg away. When I put my leg back she went right back to the same spot. The bruise is the size of tow golf balls side by side, it's large and can't be missed not to mention I said something 3 different times. I have never had a massage where I was sweating through it, had to deep breathe through the pain and was counting the minutes till it was over. Every time she lessened the pressure and I though she would stop with the digging elbows and forearms she would ask if the pressure was ok and I would breath a sign of relief and say yes, then right back to the digging elbow and forearms which was not ok. I pulled away multiple times, I was heavy breaking I said ow several times. When we turned over nothing was out under our necks and the ankle bolster was the only thing under my knees. I have a bad back I kept bending my knees she kept putting them back down. I said I need something under my knees she left the room I thought she was getting something but she was not. She left the massage 4 times for other customers coming in or someone at the door. At one point when she left the room I tried turning to my side to elevate the pain in my back but when she came back she immediately pulled my leg back down on the table. At the end of the massage I couldn't get off the table. I had to get on all fours and try to stretch my back. By the time I walked the 5 minutes to the restaurant we planned for lunch I was in so much pain I was in tears. We are here a week, we wanted to come back and get a head spa treatment and my oldest daughter wanted a spa day. We chose this location because our normal go to location moved too far away and this location had such great reviews. Our experience was not great and we did a $220 package per person. So many things we wanted to do after a relaxing massage and I am laying in bed in pain
