The owner did my nails today!! (I wish I knew his name). He was the fastest and best nail tech I have been to since moving to Raleigh back in March. I have found my new nail salon

I have a wedding tomorrow and I came in yesterday. was greeted politely and QUICKLY taken care of. I personally got an unwelcoming "can't wait to be done with this person" vibe. you very well do get what you paid for, I paid $35 for a gel set (just matte black, super simple) the matte chipped off as I was on my way home, my cuticles were also very poorly cut. so I went back today and they touched it up. praying they'll stay In tact until after tomorrow. if you're absolutely desperate this place is okay, if you expect quality and security in your decision, you're better off doing your nails yourself.

Great experience! I'm new to the area and have been trying to find a go-to nail salon. Oberlin Nails had truly the most friendly and professional staff I have ever met. The nail tech I had, Louis, was so welcoming and we chatted nearly the whole time which I've found to be pretty rare. Pricing was pretty standard but the experience was what made my visit so great. Totally recommend for area residents and NC State students, I will be back!

I like to go to many different nail salons around Raleigh because I'm picky. But this place is down the road from my home. And I've always stuck going here. I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had. But they still do an amazing job! I never get cuts, or never have sore nails the next day. They are careful, detailed, and caring. Also, they are very kid friendly!! Great staff to come up and talk to my daughter. They offer cold beverages and keep the place clean! So many options of colors to choose from. We had a lady in there who was extremely rude and out of character over an expired coupon. So if you read her review, just know, there was many of us present getting our nails done, and she was dramatic. It just made me love the place more with how they handled the situation. Great job to them! I'll continue to be a customer. -the broken nail girl

This was my first time visiting and I will definitely be returning. Amanda did an amazing job on my gel manicure and equally Nancy did a fabulous job on my pedicure. I was especially pleased and impressed that they didn't rush me out the door despite it was a Sunday close to closing. They were very accommodating. The salon was very clean and friendly.

For almost $70 you too can get a decent gel manicure and the worst pedicure of your life! I am a firm believer in second chances, so when I went back to Oberlin Nails & Spa due to smudged toenails, I attributed everything to the pedicurist letting me leave too early and my nails not drying sufficiently. No biggy! But then, after repainting my nails, they left me to dry my toes underneath a drying machine as they waited on other customers for over an hour. At first, I thought this was to make sure they were dried sufficiently, but I soon realized that they'd just sort of forgotten about me. When I headed out the door and put my sandals on, they smudged AGAIN. When I walked back in I said, "I am so sorry! It's got to be my shoes or something." The man who seems to run the salon then took me back to my chair to fix my toes for the THIRD time! I thought to myself "Welp. Third time's a charm, right?" Wrong. This man painted my messed-up toe nail in the splotchiest, gloppiest, jacked-up way possible. When he made an application mistake he just kept painting layers over it making my nail look strange and distorted. He also put nail polish remover into the bottle to cut corners and make the polish last longer, which resulted in a weird consistency and different shade of white on top of what was already there. I thought that maybe the paint would even out under the drying machine because I thought, "he couldn't possibly think that application was satisfactory." I was wrong yet again. This time, when I left and got into my car to head home, I did not put my shoes back on. When I rubbed my fingers across the top, the polish wiped right off like putty. This was such a frustrating experience. I do not make a lot of money and I generally cannot afford nice things like mani-pedis. Each year, I splurge for one on my birthday. This year, I would have been better off getting a pedicure at a seven-year-old's slumber party. I will never be coming back to Oberlin Nails & Spa. This place seems to care more about cutting corners and reducing the quality of their supplies than actually caring for their customers.

I like the fact the pedicure bowl is lined with plastic and changed for each customer. Something special my husband do together

Christine is amazing for waxing, but someone else did my nails (a gel manicure) and it peeled off after four days.

I was genuinely looking forward to visiting this salon after hearing so many wonderful things about it. Unfortunately, my first experience did not meet my expectations. I arrived at 11:03 AM as a walk-in. At 11:58 AM, I checked with the receptionist and was told there was still one person ahead of me. I completely understand that appointments may take priority and that walk-ins may have to wait. However, if the salon primarily operates by appointment or the anticipated wait for a walk-in is significant, I believe that should be communicated upon arrival. That would have allowed me to decide whether I wanted to wait or return at another time. My greatest disappointment was not necessarily the wait itself, but the lack of communication and hospitality during that time. No one checked in with me or provided an updated estimate of how much longer the wait would be. It was not until approximately 1:39 PM that one of the nail technicians kindly offered me some water, which I appreciated. I drove across town specifically to experience this salon because of the positive things I had heard. This visit was also intended to be part of my self-care birthday weekend, so unfortunately, spending such a significant amount of time waiting without consistent communication made the experience more stressful than relaxing. I understand that businesses get busy, and I do not mind waiting. However, customer service during the wait matters just as much as the service itself. A simple check-in, an estimated wait time, or a small gesture of hospitality can make a significant difference in how a guest feels. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling underwhelmed, and based on my first visit, I do not plan to return. I hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended and helps improve the experience for future walk-in guests.
