The ladies at oberlin nail spa always take good care of me. I try to come for a polish change every few weeks and will throw a pedicure in the mix every now and then. My mom and sister come here as well. They are all sweet and all do a good job. Christine waxed my eyebrows today and they look great! This is my favorite place to come for a mani pedi! I've been looking for a place to get my nails done in this area so I decided to finally give Oberlin a shot. My technician did a great job with my pedicure, but it felt very very rushed. There was no one waiting but I felt like she wanted to get me in an out as fast as possible- so it was far less relaxing than I would have liked. She also kept turning my massage chair off because it was "moving me" too much. my feet weren't moving at all so I thought that was kind of strange to reach over someone to turn off a complimentary service. Maybe I would like it more if I had a different technician. I'll give it one more shot but if it was as weird as last time, I'll be going elsewhere. read more

First time I had dip nails done with them, they lasted 6 weeks easily. The second time I got dip done, they were cracking within days. I went back to get it fixed. Within another week more we're cracked. I went in twice to get them fixed and they've already broken again. I will not be returning based on these experiences. read more

I've been to 4 nail salons that do SNS and this is by far the WORST. They dont even clean your cuticles or do a lil maintenance on your nails like how the other salons have. The color he put on my nails was different from the sample because apparently the sample was so old the color was faded, which was what I wanted, a muted baby pink. Instead I got a bright pink and I feel like an 8 year old. So there's fault #1- samples are sometimes dofferent from the actual colors. Now moving onto fault #2- maybe it's because my previous manicure wasn't coming off ws quick as he wanted, but he used the small, metal whirring device to take off my SNS instead of Acetone, which is how they're usually supposed to do it. He just kept going over my nail with the machine I thought he was going to burn a hole in my nail, no lie. Like it was so hot because of the friction and i felt the skin under the nail of my pinky finger become so hot I couldn't keep still and had to yank away. Fault #3- he did not file the sides and corners of my nails. This is partially my fault because I should have told him but he didn't have a pattern in his procedure so I didn't know if he was waiting to fix them or what. On my right hand he'd already have the second coat of SNS on and on my left hand he would still be using the small whirring device to take off the SNS from my previous manicure. You catch my drift? Fault #4- there are dry patches on 3 of my fingers where he filed over the SNS so much that he took off the glossy finish on some parts of my nails. I'm going back tomorrow because no matter how much I look at them, my nails are hideous and fat and I can't ignore them for 2 weeks till I get them redone. read more

My manicurist was sweet but she did an awful job in painting the shellac on today. She had too many distractions (ie. Texting people and eating every time I got up to wash my hands) I wish I can load a photo of how my nails turned out; bumpiness in the paint job and several spots missed. My friend's manicurist had to erase what she painted on and redo paint then the owner stepped in to recover what she could salvage. Hate to say it but would not recommend. read more

I stumbled upon Oberlin Nails when I moved to Raleigh 3 years ago and am so glad I did! Lily the owner is so sweet, she knows everyones name and always has a smile on her face. Cindy always does a great job with my shellac mani and pedi, the massage is my favorite. Everyone makes a point to make sure you have a beverage, even if they arent your technician. While they close at 7pm on weekdays, there have been several times Im getting off work later than I would like. Ill call the salon at 7 and tell Lily im on my way- she has never told me 'no' to a late nail appointment. Truly great customer service. I cant say enough great things about Oberlin Nails! read more

Christine is amazing for waxing, but someone else did my nails (a gel manicure) and it peeled off after four days.

I decided to try this place because I work in the area. As soon as I walked in they told me it would be bout 10minutes for a pedicure. Well 30 minutes goes by and they had taken 2people back that came after me then a lady came up and apologizes I told her it was fine. As soon as a lady was finished with Her pedicure they said I could come back. I would have but I noticed they never sanitized the pedicure station. This is the best nail salon I've ever been to! I usually get gel on my nails and it always lasts several weeks without chipping or bubbling. Everyone working here cares that you are happy with your nails, and they seem to know all of their clients by first name. If you want nails that look good and last, come here! read more

The actual worst pedicure I've ever had. My nails are all uneven, the polish is splotchy, and the massage was lackluster (if you could even call it a massage). My friend and I were so pissed that we cancelled our manicures while we were there. We thought we would try a new salon just to mix things up, but that was obviously a horrible idea. I live at Oberlin Court, so I was really hoping Oberlin Nails would be a great place! It is so convenient, but my pedicures have been very inconsistent. Last Friday was the worst pedi I've experienced. The lady was clearly rushing. It was not that busy, so I'm not sure why she felt the need to rush. She did not even bother to ask what kind of pedicure I would like... I typically get the deluxe, but since she was obviously in a rush and not doing a great job, I didn't say anything. I went to this salon for the first time a week ago, and was not impressed. I got a full set of acrylics at 27$. Within a week my nails looked terrible, and they were not shaped well. It looked like he got a bit lazy towards the end, and the nails have started to chip off. I ended up taking the nail polish off myself, and repainting them. I've never had a bad experience here. I always make an appointment with the same person. I fluctuate between manicures or Gel polish (Shellac). If I'm too lazy to do my own pedicure, (because I feel like I do a much better job), I'll have my feet done also...This place is super busy on Saturdays, so make an appointment. If you get a gel manicure, make sure you ask the tech to get the polish as close to the cuticle as possible, so it can last longer. It can be done, it's not going to harm anything...Alot of salons try not to do this so you can come back before 3 weeks. You can't fool me though, I'm hip to the game... read more

When I questioned him he spouted off at the mouth in another language & filled my nails down so hard that I bled! I will definitely not be coming back here! read more

This is the only nail place I go! They have the best service. Lilly is so amazing. It can get busy after work, so the best time to go is earlier afternoon. They took their time and do a really good job on my hands and feet. The cleanliness of the place is impeccable. Do not go here. As walk-ins go, I cannot get upset at having to wait- and wait longer than expected. Twenty minutes in my friend and I still had not had a person attempt to start our manicures. With the slow pace, I asked to receive a brow wax first- figured it would be quicker. As soon as I got in, it felt like the woman wasn't even looking at my brows, just placing wax wherever and attempting to pull at places,all while talking on the phone.This was confirmed when she dripped a good amount of wax into my just washed hair. She spent the rest of the time putting oil in my hair and trying to get the wax out, never going back to my brows. She announced she was finished and tried to usher me out, but I stayed and looked in the mirror and a there was a fresh gap in my brow. I pointed out her mistake to which she told me was how my brows are- I think I would know if I had a hole in my brow previously. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible and upon getting in my car saw there was fresh wax on both sides of my face. I realize it's worth the extra $$ to go to a spa or somewhere they take time with your brows, it really makes a difference-in more ways than one. read more
