Egusi Soup 2 Pounded Yam - Haddock and Beef
    Aos G.

I fell in love with African food especially the soups while working with some very still apart of the motherland Nigerians and I have loved them so much for bringing there culture into my life. Obosa is my all-time favorite place to get my Egusi Soup when I am craving african soup. Plenty of other choices. Can say a few times I have gone and certain meats was not in stock but it never fails in quality hands down. Just writing this review makes me want to go back right now

I was craving some African food like my coworker used to bring into the office. I of course got the Jollof Rice with chicken and plantains. it didn't disappoint. Next time I will have to request for them to make it spicy, I'm sure I would have liked it even more! Service was friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

    Puff-puffs

I'm a GrubHub driver and stop by frequently for pickup and delivery. Last night, they gave me some of their puff-puffs to try. They said it was like donut holes. They were so good! It was the same texture as Okinawan andagi, but the taste was a little different. If you want an alternative to regular donuts with your coffee, I highly recommend these. The place is spotless and the staff is very friendly.

    4. Vegetable Stew

Food was great! The food however, took ridiculously long to come out and I'm talking about 45+ mins to come out. Got there at 2:05 and didn't eat until almost 3 so there's that. The service itself was underwhelming. We had to keep calling them to come over because they weren't checking on us at all. Lastly the food itself was delicious !!! So if you're ever willing to try it (which you really should) definitely go just not on an empty stomach. Also, they serve pounded yam with every dish and they give you the option for "water or utensils" the water is for you to use your hands while eating which is their traditional way of eating which I absolutely loved! You definitely feel like you're getting the whole experience. I got the vegetable stew (spinach, peppers, onions) with your choice of meat and It was amazing. So in conclusion: The food was great and so was the presentation. The customer service itself can definitely use some work as well as time it takes for you to get your food. 3/5 stars for me.

Ordered takeout and the food was great! Got the vegetable samosas and jollof rice with beef, fried plantains, and spinach. Samosas were crispy and flavorful and the entree was enough for two meals.

    Leftover non fresh food..

The best Nigerian restaurant in Boston hands down. The flavors, textures and freshness of the food is noteworthy.

We were promptly seated at our table and the lively wait staff came by to take our drink and food orders. We got the joint sampler with beef samosas which was awesome. The moi moi was great and reminded me of tamales. The wings and samosas were super flavorful as well. The drinks came out when we got our entrees which seemed a bit late. We got the taushe stew with eba (pounded cassava) which reminded me of a cross between Thai peanut sauce and butter chicken. I got the crispy chicken special and asked for the "fire" spiciness level with the plantains and jollof rice. The chicken had great crisp to it and was spicy, but not uncomfortable (although I eat a lot of spicy food so your mileage may vary). The jollof rice had awesome flavor and the plantains were amazing! Definitely recommend coming here, but be prepared to take your time because the service is a little slower than I had hoped.

The hostess was kind and sat us immediately. The restaurant was quiet with some afrobeat/rnb playing in the back. Good place for a date or meet up to have conversations. Our waitress was SO friendly and gave us amazing recommendations for drinks, apps and entrees. We went with the sampler and the chicken wings and stew was AMAZING. Saucy and crispy. I got the coconut mangotini and it was excellent - mango puree and not the super sweet syrup made it taste excellent. We shared the taushe with farina and he was soooo good. Strong peanut flavor, perfect texture and we were both super full at the end. Gratuity is included (20%) in the bill and the total each after gratuity was about $45. Looking forward to returning.

I visited this past weekend with my partner and sister for a birthday. Reservations were easy to get -- try OpenTable! The restaurant was very warm and welcoming, my first impression was "cozy". The service was really good, our server was super helpful in explaining the menu and pointing out the specials for the evening. To start, we got the olives and the cucumber salad. Both were really well done, the seasoning on the peanuts that came with the olives was amazing. Perfect amount of appetizer for three people. I ordered the steak frites, and my fellow diners got the Cod and the Gorditas. The steak frites were super flavorful, but the highlight of the dish was the fries. Coupled with the aioli, the fries were a huge hit at our table (you have to order them!). The cod was also really well done, when I come back I will definitely order the cod. We grabbed the butterscotch pudding and chocolate cake for dessert. The cake was super moist and the perfect consistency. Two desserts was perfect for three people. If you live in JP, you NEED to come to Vee Vee. Perfect for a special occasion!
