For that reason, I'd recommend going at an off time for lunch because it was great! They were out of a few items, but I ended up with a pork chop with guava sauce and it was so good. They were also sadly out of the tres leches cake but I popped back in later that week as they were closing and were thrilled they had some left. That may have been the best tres leches I've ever had. The drinks were also delicious! We'll definitely return next time we're in PR.

There is absolutely NO signage anywhere in the restaurant stating that flash photography is not allowed. While we were quietly sitting at our table waiting for food, my husband took a quick photo of me with flash. Out of nowhere, Patrick, who identified himself as the General Manager, approached us in an incredibly aggressive and hostile manner and abruptly said "NO FLASH" with an attitude that was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. If there are rules guests are expected to follow, maybe the restaurant should clearly communicate them instead of having management aggressively confront paying customers. I asked to speak to the assistant manager who handled the situation much more professionally and was kind, understanding, and willing to listen. Unfortunately, Patrick's behavior completely ruined the experience and left a terrible impression on what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner. His behavior was racial profiling. No guest should feel singled out, uncomfortable, or disrespected simply for taking a photo when there were no visible rules posted anywhere in the restaurant.

One of the hostesses was noticeably rude at the start, which set an uncomfortable tone. After being seated, our waiter hasn't been outright unkind, but there's a clear difference in how we're being treated compared to other guests. As a same-sex couple, it feels like we're not being received as warmly, even though he seems to be making an effort to remain professional. As a Puerto Rican, that's honestly a bit disappointing and feels out of place. That said, the food itself has been very good.

The hot sauce on the table was nice, not too hot but a good kick, I usually do not like habanero based hot sauces but this was good! The Queso Frito was interesting in flavors & textures, delicious. El Conflicto was perfect, all the flavor of a pina colada but without the heaviness of syrups & sugar. The Pollo Borracho was super flavorful & filling, chicken cooked to perfection falling off the bone. My fiancé had the Carne Frita, it was super tender & a well balanced dish. Service was friendly & attentive. My only complaint- we were so full we couldn't even look at the dessert menu! Guess we will just have to go back.

We decided to give it one more chance for our last dinner -- and I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing. We genuinely enjoyed every single plate we ordered. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared -- no complaints at all. The staff was great and very attentive throughout the night. And they even had a good spicy sauce! I have Mexican friends who love their food extra spicy, and this sauce definitely delivered. The vibe was tropical and beautiful. It's located right by the shore, so you get a nice view while you eat. It was the perfect way to end our trip. Honestly, we loved it. You must try their chicken Chicharron And Signature Stuffed Mamposteao!

There was no wait for a table, but it took a good 10 minutes for the waiter to even come to our table. Drinks took about 5-7 min, which isn't bad. We ordered dinner and the wait began. 20 minutes after we ordered, my wife's dinner came out, but mine didn't. She finished her food in about 10 min, my dinner still hadn't arrived. We waited another 30 min (1 hour after ordering) and my meal still hadn't come out. Our waiter never checked on us, never offered us more drinks, never apologized for the wait. After the hour, I walked up to our waiter and told him we were leaving. They did remove the food that never arrived but they didn't seem the least bit apologetic. For a first impression of Puerto Rican service and quality, I would never recommend this place.

When we arrived for our reservation, it took awhile to be acknowledged and finally seated by the staff. When we were ready to order, our friend called our server, Enrique, to let him know. His reaction took us by surprise. He proceeded to tell our elderly friend that she needed to be more patient with him. He said that his section was full and that he was working alone. It was a very awkward moment and almost put a damper on our dining experience. We felt terrible for our dear friend who felt disrespected and humbled. Having worked in service industries for decades, we are fully aware of how stressful a dining room full of diners can be for a server. In this case however, we noticed that he only had 3 tables and that he was being assisted by other staff members. The manager, a very gracious host, seemed to sense something was not quite right. He paid special attention to our friend and managed to turn an uncomfortable situation into a pleasant one. The food was good, not great, but the setting was absolutely stunning. For Enrique, we left the minimum tip amount: 15% although we cleave at least 20%. 15% was a large tip in this instance. We left it because we figured that they might pool their tips and we didn't want to penalize all of the staff members. We'll return but only to the bar to enjoy the amazing view.
