    Joust is up and running!
    Randy W.

Byron is amazing! Ran into some challenges, but he solved every single one. He even came on the morning of a big event, to get our Williams Joust machine ready for my son's bday party, and it was a hit for sure. It was a pleasure to meet Byron, and it is good that someone with his enthusiasm and skill set are still around to bring these nostalgic machines back to life. I recommend him without reservation.

Amazing customer service, fair price, and fixed the issues on my pinball machine. YOU ROCK BYRON! :D

Some of the buttons weren't working

I was very fortunate to have come across SoCal Arcade Repair. SoCal Arcade is a gem; a true rare find. Byron, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about arcades and is just an awesome human being. At all times, he had very good communication with me, was very polite, and answered every single one of my questions. I called because my Willow arcade had been sitting in my backyard way too long. Last time I was able to turn it on some of the buttons didn't work. And now, on top of that my dog had chewed the power cable. Before actually coming over, he requested that I sent him pictures of the arcade so he could give me a quote. I did via text. Right away, he responded and explained some of the issues and was very clear with the costs and possible risks. For example he explained that I had a specific kind of monitor that, if damaged, it would be extremely difficult to find. And if we did, it would be 5-600 dollars (just for the monitor). On his first visit, he immediately took care of the chewed power cable and replaced it with a brand new one. He turned it on and fortunately the monitor and the board (the game) worked perfectly fine. As he progressed with the repair, he noticed that the smaller buttons were not repairable and we had to order new ones. Nonetheless, he cleaned up the playing buttons and got it to work provisionally. The smaller buttons are not very common so we had to wait about a month or so for them to finally arrive. When they did, he came again and installed them. The complete restoration for this arcade will be in steps: 1. Locksmith 2. Electronics (SoCal Arcade Repair) 3. Paint job 4. Original Arcade Art Work I'm off to the next. I'm pretty happy with the outcome of now my Willow Arcade; it turns on perfectly fine and is up and running again thanks to SoCal Arcade Repair. Out of all the steps, this one was the most vital one and it was a complete success! Thank you very much Byron. 5 solid stars.

    Off Road Challenge.

I emailed SoCal Arcade to get an Off-Road Challenge Arcade game fixed. They notified me the same day and I spoke to Byron. Byron said due to the distance (I live in Torrance) he may not be able to check out my game for awhile but I could send him pics and he would be able to help me anyway he could. I sent him pics and he said everything appeared to be there, then he asked if I tried plugging it in to see if it worked. I told him yes and nothing happened. Then he asked if I had flipped the "on switch" on the very top of the game. I felt like an idiot for not knowing about the switch but when I flipped it on, sure enough the game turned on with no problems. Byron even showed me where exactly the interior control buttons inside were to turn the "insert coins" mode to "free play" mode. Byron did not charge me for the help even though I offered to pay him at least something for guiding me through the process. From my brief contact with Byron, I know he and his staff are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to these games, are friendly and respectful. Definitely go with these guys if you have any arcade repair and/or service needs.

Came across Byron here on Yelp. He was quick to respond. Told him my problem over the phone, with my arcade and he pinpointed the problem right a way. He's local and a hop, skip and a jump away. Very efficient and quick service. Done within an hour. He even programmed my arcade the way it was suppose to be running all along. Very friendly service. I definitely recommend Byron. I'll be using him again if a problem ever arises. THANK YOU!!

Byron came on a Saturday and replaced all the buttons in my Ikari Warriors full size cabinet. He also gave me some tips on how this machine from 1986 works. Very courteous and excellent at communicating. Thanks Byron!

Byron is the high scorer in our book! Took Our classic PAC-MAN arcade game and updated it with a new LCD screen, new 60 game board and cleaned it up. New power supply too. Friendly service, quick yelp response and reasonable prices. New life for an old classic.

Byron is the best. I had just inherited my family's 35+ year old Pac-Man cabinet and the screen went black shortly after I started playing it. I was so excited to finally have it in my house-and then it broke! I found Byron on Yelp and gave him a call. He got back to me within an hour. He was able to diagnose the problem with the information I gave him over the phone and some pictures. about a week or two later Byron came to my house and switched the broken monitor for a beautiful lcd screen - and he replaced the motherboard for one that has more games. Now I have the Pac-Man machine from my childhood but even BETTER. I'm so happy. Byron is really knowledgeable and his pricing is super reasonable. I definitely feel like I got a great deal. plus he is really nice and communicative. Highly recommend!!

I had an issue with my time crisis 3 machine where the gun was working but the aim was off. I thought it was a hardware issue because I just moved the machine into this house. Emailed Bryon, he answered within a few mins and said maybe I should try calibrating the gun. Bam! It worked flawlessly. 5 starts for an honest business helping people. They have my business for life.

Byron did a GREAT job repairing and doing maintenance on our Monopoly Pinball Machine. We are so pleased with his service. Thank you!

I called and got an estimate for $80 which I agreed to. They asked for the $80 payment upfront. I was hesitant about paying upfront, but my husband did. About a week later, they called and said it was ready but we had a balance of another $80. My husband sweetly picked it up without asking questions.. but I had questions! They said they cleaned the printer so that it worked better and the labor cost was $80 more. I would have declined if they called and asked if I wanted it done. I took it to this authorized Google repair location expecting to discuss my warranty options. Instead, the staff repeatedly told me they could not repair it "per Google's guidelines." I kept asking clarifying questions, because it wasn't much of an explanation. Why wouldn't a swollen battery be not not covered, I never received a clear explanation beyond that same repeated statement. What made the experience especially frustrating was being told immediately afterward that they could repair the phone out-of-pocket for around $500. This left me wondering: if the phone is physically repairable, why is it ineligible for a warranty repair? Whether there is a legitimate policy reason or not, no one explained it to me. I also asked for documentation, such as a diagnosis, notes, or any paperwork I could review later to discuss with Google directly. The staff refused to provide anything unless I opened a paid repair ticket. Since a $500 repair was not economically reasonable, I declined. I left with no documentation, no clear explanation of the diagnosis, and no guidance on my next steps. My disappointment is not that they could not perform the warranty repair if Google's policies genuinely prevented it. It is that I never received a clear explanation and left feeling dismissed rather than helped.
