Dr. Takigawa is the best! He is now my primary dentist. I came to him 2 years ago because one of my teeth was super sensitive. He fixed it and cleaned my teeth. I've been looking for a new dentist for a few years now ever since my previous Dr. retired during the pandemic and I've finally found "the one". From start to finish, my visit was a 10/10. Front desk staff is wonderful, Dr. Aaron is very thorough with great bedside manner, and my hygienist was wonderful as well. I've never such a gentle, yet thorough cleaning like that, ever! The biggest takeaway for me was the fact that Dr. Aaron wasn't quick to "sell" me on a bunch of services and made recommendations based on what I actually need in the immediate future. I've seen and experienced way too many Doctors OVER-treat patients so they can run up the insurance bill. I did not get that feeling here and that's absolutely important. I'm a new patient and only had two visits, but Dr. Takigawa seems very genuine and gets really involved in patient care even for just a teeth cleaning. He checks in with the hygienist (she was great too) regarding my teeth and thoroughly assessed it, which the last dentist I went to didn't do for the last 5 years I was there. I understand that sometimes they can't always see you, but I just never saw them because they were too busy. I only stayed until my hygienist left. Anyway, I thought this was worth mentioning. Dr. Takigawa noticed that I was waiting at the front desk and stepped out of his office to book my next appointment when he could've just waited for his scheduler to return. Believe it or not, I have always enjoyed visiting the dentist ever since I was a little kid. The problem was finding the right dentist you feel comfortable with and confident about understanding your needs, being able to explain the options, and executing the task with the utmost professionalism. Dr. Aaron not only possesses all these skills, but he's also so personable, friendly, and caring. Like what another reviewer mentioned, he feels like a good friend you've known for years.....even though this was my first visit to see him. My situation was that I had actually seen another dentist that was referred to me by my insurance company. However, I felt rather uncomfortable with that dentists insistence that I undergo a more aggressive procedure than what I thought I needed. As such, I found Dr. Aaron on Yelp, contacted him via OC Lakes Dental's website to get a second opinion, and received a very prompt reply shortly thereafter. Dr. Aaron was so genuinely concerned about my situation that he offered to squeeze me in the next day for a "quick" consultation. Lets just say I was most happy with Dr. Aaron, his assistant, and front office staff...everyone was so nice, friendly, and professional. Anyway, after having taken some x-rays and conducting a thorough inspection of my tooth, it ended up that, in his professional opinion, I did not need to undergo the aggressive procedure at this time.....in which I was extremely relieved and very happy about! I feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. Aaron and will definitely keep seeing him for all my future dental needs. As far as the dental work goes the thing I like most is that Dr. Takigawa is extremely thorough and detail oriented. I had an awesome first visit with Dr. Aaron Takigawa. He is first and foremost friendly and attentive to get to know you as a patient and a person, and makes sure you are comfortable the whole time. He spent careful time inspecting any potential cavities, and making note of ones that don't need fillings yet but he wants to monitor. He ran through my xrays in detail and explained them to me. My teeth feel SUPER clean after a thorough cleaning. For my first visit I was definitely a year overdue so my gums were a bit inflamed and in rougher shape, but Dr. Aaron took extra care to assure me it was normal and not make me feel guilty. What an amazing dentist, hard to come across good dentist these days. He was extremely friendly, his staff was also very nice. These reviews on here are true and this is the reason I ended up at his office. I had a bad toothache and my dentist was too far to go too in such short notice, he understood and took me in right away. They made me feel right at home, Dr. Takigawa really listened to my problem and accessed the situation. Took his time, did not feel rushed at all. It really felt like I was talking to a good friend. I am so thankful he was able to help me take care of this toothache, after the appointment there was no up-selling or offering me products that I didn't need (I have experienced this at other dentist offices). I've been to five other dentists (four being in Southern California) in 10 years, and I finally feel that I don't need to shop around for a decent dentist. I went for an X-ray and routine check-up, and Dr. Aaron did an excellent cleaning (detailed) job which my previous dentist failed.
