We decided to check it out the front desk receptionists was very courteous and helpful. CMR opted for a haircut, which I don't particularly enjoy as I am fond of his long hair. Sadly this is a ritual he follows every few years after his hair grows out he cuts it all out. Given CMR's wavy hair with considerable volume, we seek out professionals experienced in handling diverse hair types. This being our 1st visit, I was impressed with the exceptional service provided by JC. The ambiance is relaxed, reminiscent of the classic ICONIC Marlboro Man style. Although Hammer & Nails is approximately 30 minutes from our house, I anticipate CMR will be making the trip to visit JC's skilled hair services.

I first found Hammer and Nails in my hometown of Brea purely by happenstance (and in effort to find another place for a good haircut, perhaps dabble in pedicures, besides Sport Clips). Curiosity drew me into this establishment, but by golly, it was the experience that had me stay until I eventually couldn't. From the moment I first walked in, I was blown away by the aesthetic-- definitely tailored towards guys. What's more, for my first visit, was offered a complimentary beverage (my go-to was always a woodford reserve whiskey on the rocks-- puts one at ease during a nice cut). Be it a haircut, a mani-pedi (shoutout to the Jack Hammer combo) or even a simple facial treatment, this place rocks in terms of quality, service and attention to detail. Add to that some TVs to view your shows (shoutout to the mani-pedi crew; I remember at one point you were even offered headphones to listen to TV while getting work done), and this place is worth its weight in gold in terms of what they charge (even if the memberships had a slight increase in price during my time there). In fact, it was so good that I even brought my girlfriend along for her mani-pedi (she absolutely loved it). Definitely put a smile on my face. If I did have to criticize one thing about Hammer and Nails, it wouldn't be about this location (to be fair, I always scheduled my appointments here), but about the availability of locations in general. The memberships provided are perfect (if a bit costly) in what they provide-- if you are to remain in SoCal (or just so happen to cross paths with a location across the nation). Unfortunately, it is with this critique that I had to cancel my membership; while the service is stellar, and the membership transferable for use across the nation for any of the brand's locations, there is simply no presence of the brand in MN at the time of writing. Had there been, I may have kept my membership indefinitely. A weakness to be sure, but a testament to the brand's potential overall. If I do ever make any return trips to CA in the future (and my hair is running long), I'll definitely stop by just for old times sake. Cheers, guys, and take care!

I said that was completely fine and ended up waiting 23 minutes. After washing my hair, she started blow drying it and rough dried it until it was almost completely dry. My hair was already getting frizzy, so I reminded her again that I wanted the bouncy blowout I booked and was paying for. She told me she did not have time because she was rushing and that she could not do what I had asked for. At that point I was really frustrated. I was paying for a specific service and expected to actually receive it. When I told her I was upset, she looked at me and said, "Do you know how much a blowout for your hair would cost?" That comment was honestly so unprofessional. I told her it was not about the money. It was about the fact that I booked a service, confirmed ahead of time that it could be done, waited almost half an hour because she was behind, and then was told she did not have time to do what I had paid for. What makes it even more frustrating is that the entire appointment still took about an hour, which is a completely normal amount of time for a long blowout. My hair is thick, but it is not curly and not difficult to style. If she knew she was running behind or did not have enough time to do the service properly, that should have been communicated before starting, or I should have been given the option to reschedule. Instead, I received a rushed service and was charged the full $70. She barely went over my hair with a round brush, and the final result looked like it had just been rough dried instead of being an actual blowout. I left feeling like my time did not matter and that I paid $70 for something I did not even receive. I am extremely disappointed with both the service and the way I was treated, and I will not be returning.

So it's looking for a way to take care of my body, take care of my face, take care of my back. Just things that we don't always as men take care of. So I heard from a friend of mine about this guy named Stev that works at Alexander's that does manscaping. So I looked him up at OCmanscape.com Great website very cool very informative so I decided to get the back sea salt scrub. Let me tell you not only is this guy wicked cool and a true gentleman but so professional I felt so comfortable. Great atmosphere cool music took off my shirt laid on the bed and he started with his ingredients. Now if you looked on the website which I did, it'll tell you more about the ingredients he used, all I know is after he was done my back felt like a million bucks. I definitely will go back and get it done. I think my next thing will be a facial. And if I'm brave enough possibly some waxing of the bits, if you know what I'm saying. I took my husband to see Stev at OC ManScape two weeks ago. My husband never had any kind of waxing done before. He especially never would have imagined it being done by a male waxer. We first heard of ocmanscape from watching a tv show about waxing. So happens that he was close by and seemed cool too. We finally got to meet Stev and he was very personable and professional. I could tell that my husband was comfortable with him instantly. The room the wax is done in is very tranquil and stylish. Nice lighting and fun old school jazz tunes. Today was my first experience being waxed by Blake. I got my back, ears and privates waxed. This was my second time getting my back and ears waxed at OC Manscape. This was the first time ever for my scrotum. I was quite apprehensive about getting the boys waxed. I don't often do too much talking when someone is working. I just let the guy focus on his job. However, Blake is so personable that he got me talking. The talking did a lot to distract me from the waxing and therefore relax me. He took his time with all of the waxing. I was not rushed through my appointment. My heart rate came down since he was so relaxed himself.
