I'm confused by all the reviewers saying they had trouble with the staff when trying to turn in a…read morestray animal that was found. I worked in Irvine and frequently ate lunch at the food court on Main Street/Jamboree. One day, leaving the food court, I found a dog outside in the pouring down rain vomiting by the trash cans. The dog gladly jumped into my car to get out of the down pour and I drove it to this animal shelter (yes, it vomited all over the back seat of my car). Not only did they take the dog in immediately with no questions asked, they helped me clean up my car. This place is amazing

The process to have him back was easy and communication was perfect since all my questions were answered today. Even providing me with multiple resources for possible low-cost euthanasia services was also very helpful for me and saved me a lot of time. The staff were all very friendly as well. Thank you guys for listening to my explanation on the matter. Because I was able to have him back, I was able to move forward with euthanizing him at a pet hospital that my friend works at and was able to be with him in his last moments just a few hours ago. I really do appreciate all of your help for allowing me to be with him and let him go peacefully. Thank you so much.

I adopted one of our pups from here and he has been such a blessing in our lives. The fees are…read moreincredibly reasonable, especially considering that all the animals are fully checked out by their veterinarian at the Chino Hills clinic and are spayed/neutered already, which gave us great peace of mind. Unlike many rescues that are solely foster-based, PPR has a physical location. This is a huge advantage because you can actually visit, meet the dogs (and cats), and even use their play yard to see if you get along before committing to adoption. The facility is clean and the animals appear well-cared for. Every volunteer I met was friendly and helpful, without being pushy like I've encountered at some other shelters. I'm so grateful this rescue exists to help with the animal overpopulation problem. I highly encourage everyone to check them out (and other rescues/shelters in the area) and consider adoption first when searching for a new family member!

i'm torn about making this review. while i am so thankful for our dog, winston, i am very…read moredisappointed in the lack of care by the rescue. upon meeting winston, my boyfriend and i noticed one of his eyes looked a little cloudy. when we asked the staff about it, they insisted that it was nothing and referred to winston's medical records. he is such a sweet dog and he's been an amazing addition to our family. however, it has barely been a month and i've already had to spend $2k on vet bills. i tried contacting the priceless pets vet that they refer their customers to, however they were no help at all. i ended up finding my own vet who confirmed winston is blind on the eye we pointed out, his teeth/ mouth was filled with infections and decayed teeth, and he had a lot of fleas. he needed several teeth extracted, and in doing so, they confirmed his age to be 6-7 years old. priceless pets told us he was 4 years old. overall, i do not regret adopting winston. i just wish the shelter did a better job of taking care of their animals and disclosing important information so that people know what they're getting into. i was not anticipating spending $2k within the first month of adopting our dog. had this all been disclosed, i could've at least prepared better. if you're looking to adopt a dog from here, i encourage you to have them conduct a full medical examination before doing so. don't rely on the medical history paperwork they provide upon adoption.

We had recently lost our…read morebeloved jack Russell and were looking to replace him and provide another companion to our 14 year old chihuahua. We were told it wouldn't work out, that they wouldn't get along. We thought to ourselves, our chihuahua has never been aggressive and she's always had a brother or sister, but we listened to Jessica. We ended up going with 2 terriers, a boy and a girl! Let me tell you, she was right! Our chihuahua did not take to the original dog we were going with and he didn't take to her! But the second dog provided a buffer between the two. It gave the puppies each other to play with and leave the older dog alone. They still don't like one another but they tolerate each other! All 3 are now happy and thriving! I'm so happy I listened to the expert and gave these dogs what they needed! One big happy family now

When I was in desperate need of finding a safe new home for a stray German Shepherd named Luna, they went above and beyond to assist me. Not only did they offer guidance and support, but they also helped me connect with other rescue organizations and resources to give Luna the best possible chance of finding a loving home. Throughout the process, they were compassionate, professional, and focused on what was best for the dog. It is clear that every decision they make is based on the safety and welfare of the animals in their care. Their kindness, dedication, and willingness to help during a difficult situation made a lasting impression on me, and I am truly grateful for everything they did. I highly recommend Girls Dog Rescue to anyone looking for a rescue organization that genuinely cares about dogs and the community they serve.
