i'm torn about making this review. while i am so thankful for our dog, winston, i am very disappointed in the lack of care by the rescue. upon meeting winston, my boyfriend and i noticed one of his eyes looked a little cloudy. when we asked the staff about it, they insisted that it was nothing and referred to winston's medical records. he is such a sweet dog and he's been an amazing addition to our family. however, it has barely been a month and i've already had to spend $2k on vet bills. i tried contacting the priceless pets vet that they refer their customers to, however they were no help at all. i ended up finding my own vet who confirmed winston is blind on the eye we pointed out, his teeth/ mouth was filled with infections and decayed teeth, and he had a lot of fleas. he needed several teeth extracted, and in doing so, they confirmed his age to be 6-7 years old. priceless pets told us he was 4 years old. overall, i do not regret adopting winston. i just wish the shelter did a better job of taking care of their animals and disclosing important information so that people know what they're getting into. i was not anticipating spending $2k within the first month of adopting our dog. had this all been disclosed, i could've at least prepared better. if you're looking to adopt a dog from here, i encourage you to have them conduct a full medical examination before doing so. don't rely on the medical history paperwork they provide upon adoption. read more

I adopted one of our pups from here and he has been such a blessing in our lives. The fees are incredibly reasonable, especially considering that all the animals are fully checked out by their veterinarian at the Chino Hills clinic and are spayed/neutered already, which gave us great peace of mind. Unlike many rescues that are solely foster-based, PPR has a physical location. This is a huge advantage because you can actually visit, meet the dogs (and cats), and even use their play yard to see if you get along before committing to adoption. The facility is clean and the animals appear well-cared for. Every volunteer I met was friendly and helpful, without being pushy like I've encountered at some other shelters. I'm so grateful this rescue exists to help with the animal overpopulation problem. I highly encourage everyone to check them out (and other rescues/shelters in the area) and consider adoption first when searching for a new family member! read more

DO NOT ADOPT HERE!!! THEY DO NOT CARE FOR THEIR KITTENS PROPERLY & GIVE AWAY SICK ANIMALS WITHOUT TELLING YOU. We recently adopted a kitten from Priceless Pets in Costa Mesa. We love her dearly and are so happy she's part of our family, but our experience with the organization has been very disappointing. When we met our kitten at the adoption center, we noticed she had crusty eyes and could barely open them. A staff member even saw it and brushed it off with, "oh, I wouldn't worry about it." Unfortunately, it turned out to be a sign of something serious. Within a day of bringing her home, we knew we had to take her to the vet because of her crusty eyes, sneezing, and coughing. Our vet diagnosed her with CALICIVIRUS, a highly contagious illness that can spread to other cats. We also noticed some of the other kitten in the adoption center had crusty eyes and looked sick as well. We immediately spent over $700 in vet bills to get her treated. When we contacted Priceless Pets, they refused to refund the adoption fee or help with medical costs. Their only response was to offer sending us to their vet in Chino Hills for a discount, long after we had already rushed her to our own vet for care. We adore our kitten, but Priceless Pets should have been transparent about her health and taken responsibility. Dismissing obvious symptoms and failing to disclose a contagious virus is unacceptable. Families adopting deserve honesty about an animal's condition so they can make an informed decision and protect other pets at home. Here she is before & after treatment! We adopted a dog who was severely neglected with a lot of dental and health issues, which we were ready to take care of. However, we found that the dog, albeit sweet, was possessive and aggressive towards food and even when I'd try to wipe his mouth. This is difficult when you have young kids. We ended up returning the dog and the asian manager was absolutely HORRID in how she treated us. When she saw her, she looked at us with a face of disdain without saying hello. My wife wanted to say goodbye to the dog and whilst she was petting him for a mere 5 seconds, she pulled his leash and abruptly ended the farewell. She seemed pissed that we were returning him and just had the worst attitude. My wife informed her that he had major oral decay with grey teeth, which the vet basically said was dead teeth. She didn't care nor did she respond. We gave this dog a lot of love and took care of him with the intention of keeping him. Please have basic etiquette, provide accurate medical background, and be more professional. read more

A FOLLOW UP TO LAST REVIEW. I drove back to inform the Priceless Pets manager (Erin) about walking dogs on hot asphalt. She rolled her eyes at my complaint. I then asked her if they have a grassy backyard, she said no, their back has cement as well. The whole conversation she appeared to be smirking at me. I told her if it is 77 outside they are walking the animals on approximately 125 degrees asphalt . I told them to put some fake grass in the back. I went to volunteer in 2020 with my son and a skinny pit bull kept following my son around. This went on several times we were there and a staff member said "you should think about taking him home!) I didn't come to be adopts dog much less a skinny Pitt bull but I looked at him and I couldn't just walk away. He came home , laid down and shook. He cried when alone and had eating issues. One of his intestines was hanging down about 10 inches. It took several months to change him into the happy, beautiful, heathy boy he is. I have never had a smarter, more dear dog in my life. He checks on me all the time, sleeps in my room, acts like my protector and paid no attention to the kittens I was bottle feeding though he loved to chase cats. We adopted a dog in May 2026. Priceless said the dog was ~2-3 years old and repped that she was in "good health" but do not guaranty. We questioned her health as she was wheezing so we asked if we could have her checked at the Priceless Vet (next door) at our cost- it was a hard NO due to "liability." Regardless, we adopted the dog and took her to our own vet. The dog was extremely sick suffering from a severe infection due to a recent spade that Priceless Vet completed. I emailed them to let them know the dog was very ill, and we may bring her back to them and no response for 5 days and the response a "non-response." Our local vet put her on extreme meds and diet and after $4,200 of bills, the dog is doing much better. We have brought this dog, who's is not 2-3 years but 5-6 years old, back to life. A terrible experience. Still waiting for a respond to my last email, sent over 5 weeks ago. Stay away. read more

My fiance and I became first-time dog owners when we adopted from Priceless Pets last month! We couldn't be happier with Princess, our new Jack Russell terrier/shih tzu mix. We walked in just hoping to take a look at the dogs available, but we didn't expect to bring one home! Rookie mistake, I know. Princess was the first (and only) dog we interacted with in the meeting room, and we fell in love with her immediately. We came in right before closing, so unfortunately we couldn't adopt her right then and there. But the manager was kind enough to advise us to come right at opening the next day (which we did), adding that this particular dog would likely be swooped up very quickly. I'm SO thankful she told us that, because someone came in asking for Princess while we were in the middle of the adoption paperwork the next day! The adoption process itself was quite painless. We paid a $375 adoption fee which included spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. We got to choose from a wide variety of pet name tags, which they engrave for you on the spot. They were out of many collars in her size, so we just got a generic-looking one that fit her and got a different one at PetSmart later. The pet tag and collar were not included in the adoption fee. I was impressed that the manager was so patient with us during this whole experience - as first-time dog owners, we had several questions. I'm sure we asked some very basic questions, but she never made us feel dumb or like we weren't knowledgeable enough to take care of a dog. I would recommend this rescue to anyone who has considered getting a dog for a long time. Everyone was nice and the process was so seamless! My wife and I got our Bombay kitten from here and we could not be happier. As first-time pet owners, we did not know what to expect or where to even start. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out, the staff at Priceless Pets was right there with us making sure we were comfortable and more importantly, that we were the right parents for the kitten. Dana (I believe her name was) was the lady that helped us, and I cannot recommend her enough. She was so caring, personable, an absolute pet lover herself and an all-around great person. Dana, thank you so much for gifting us our fur baby, we could not be happier, and he is the highlight of our life! Priceless pets provided us with enough food for a week, all vaccinations, neutering, training advice and was even able to call in the vet to get our kitten her last shot the same day so we didn't have to come back in a week. Our home is complete! We are a three-dog family. A month ago, we made the difficult decision to help one of our fur kids cross the rainbow bridge. Our hearts were broken, and even though with two pups, our home felt incomplete, unbalanced. I started looking at area rescues. With covid still being a threat, rescues are short staffed, backlogged with applications, appointments to visit were booked way out. I saw on Priceless Pet's website that they were having an adoption event in Tustin. I dragged the kids (actually, it didn't take any convincing lol), got to meet wonderful volunteers and a couple of fur babies. I asked about a beagle I saw online, Milo, came to learn of the Orphanage in Costa Mesa, which was open right at that very moment FOR WALK-INS! We got in the car and headed down the 55. We were quickly greeted, seated in a meeting room, and introduced to Milo. *Instant puppy love*. I filled out the application, was given background/health info on Milo and opportunity to ask questions. Priceless Pets made the adoption process so easy...and they engrave pet tags ON THE SPOT. I am extremely disappointed and appalled by the treatment I received at Priceless Pets on August 29, 2024, and again on September 9th, 2024. As someone with extensive experience in animal rescue, I expected better from an organization that is supposed to support the care of animals. After rescuing five kittens from a friend's apartment near South Coast Plaza and receiving explicit approval from Costa Mesa Animal Control to bring them in, I was met with hostility and unprofessionalism from Cindy Instead of receiving support, I was called a liar, sketchy, and even a trespasser. Cindy informed me I was no longer allowed to bring in animals under my name due to the false accusation that I had dropped off multiple animals before, which is completely untrue. Outside of this situation, I have only ever brought one other animal to them, a 13-year-old cat whom was abandoned by its owner. I flea treated her, dewormed her and even provided revolution prior to bringing her in knowing she needed this treatment. I paid for the FeLV/ FIV test out of my own pocket to keep her in my home safely with my other cats while I held her for the 10 day hold until she could be legally relinquished to me. At which time I decided to adopt her due to her age. When I began questioning how this decision was made, I was called very disparaging names. I was flat-out refused when I asked to speak to someone in charge. The level of disrespect and discrimination I experienced was appalling, especially given that Priceless Pets is contracted with the city to handle situations like this. Cindy's attitude was unnecessarily rude and unjustified. To make matters worse, I have always supported Priceless Pets through donations and supplies, but after this experience, I no longer feel they value the community or the work individuals like myself do to help animals in need. The unprofessionalism, lack of communication, and outright rudeness--specifically from Cindy--need to be addressed. I hope that I can finally make contact with the supervisor of Cindy to address this and understand what the point was of treating me in such a manner. Cindy was dishonest with me, and I know they keep security video, I hope her conduct can be reviewed, and they can see how unfairly I was treated. I sincerely hope others don't have to go through this, but I will no longer be supporting Priceless Pets if this kind of behavior is considered acceptable. ** update: I have made two attempts to email the founder Lisa regarding the treatment I received. I have not received one response. It's clear by the lack of unprofessionalism, that the behavior I received is not only tolerable but acceptable. I will be filing a formal complaint with the city. I had hoped to address this before it got to this point, but I will not allow the treatment I received by Cindy to be allowed to me or anyone else, especially when it is unjustified. Please use caution when interacting with Cindy at Priceless Pets as she will treat you however she feels and when you try to address it with upper Managment she will block you from any information to do so and kick you out of the facility. *** second update: I was finally contacted by Lisa Price. She did Apologize for Cindy's behavior. We had a very informative conversation. I appreciate Lisa reaching out and trying to rectify the situation. read more

I love it here!! I couldn't recommend Priceless Pet Rescue enough. The staff, volunteers, dogs and cats are all amazing. You can tell that they all deeply care about the animals in their care. They rescue dogs from all over. They save dogs that are in the list to be euthanized from local shelters, they rescue hounds from the east, they take dogs from Mexico, owner surrenders, you name it. It seems that every volunteer has their favorite animal. The shelter is clean and the dogs get lots of walks and love throughout the day. It is busier on the weekends so be patient with the their team! We recommend Priceless Pets to everyone we know that's looking for a new family member! read more

I wanted to adopt after the Christmas confusion, I looked at a lot of adoption sites. I had to have one dog put down before Thanksgiving and I usually have two dogs so they can have each other for company. I love them to pieces. So after a couple of fails with way too complicated adoption sites, wondering if the dogs offered actually existed, ages correct, etc. I returned to Priceless Pets where my last dog came from. Their adoption process is very streamlined, while they verify your info. They don't just "give these animals to anyone". In the adoption process I observed so many people coming in to care for the animals and give them attention. Good vibes. While I realize a lot of shelters will not adopt to oldsters, this is age discrimination. Anyone can die at any time, young or old. Young families either move a lot or don't realize how much effort goes into animal ownership. They move and find out new landlords don't want their pets. Or discover they are allergic. When there is a willing person with a home who can love an unwanted animal, why would you refuse this pet to them? For example, Girls of Dog Rescue wanted my daughter to co adopt as they felt I was "too old". What I have to say about that is not printable! My pup is healthy, spayed, happy as hell. She is one really sweet animal. Obviously no trauma in her life, which I attribute to this well run shelter. If you need a friend, check out their up to date availability page. Go meet the animal, they don't require appointments unless you are inquiring about an animal that is fostered. All paperwork is provided in a folder and animal is given to you with a collar and a tag with your animal's name and your phone numbers before they go out the door. All are microchipped, spayed neutered and shots current. You have to realize that the fees charged are covering these costs, just barely. I have adopted from a private party with none of these medical needs met and the costs to neuter and bring my dog up to speed were far more than the Priceless Pets adoption fees. If you intend to be a responsible pet owner, you must do these things. A free animal is still going to cost you a lot in the long run so keep that in mind. I was treated so well and the staff was so pleasant. Very very happy with our new family member. read more

It is operated by Priceless Pet Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue organization who has been operating other "Orphanages" in SoCal for a number of years. I want to start off by saying that I love my puppy that I adopted from Priceless Pets. That's where the positivity of this review ends... We were told by the staff that the litter of puppy's mother had anaplasma and ehrlichia. A disease that if not treated can result in severe, fatal, systemic symptoms such as organ failure. We were assured by the staff that the puppies tested negative for the disease. They gave us antibiotics to give to our puppy prophylactically just in case. We took him home gave him his antibiotics and carried on. A few weeks later we went to the Priceless Pet Vet clinic to have follow up appointment and refill his antibiotics. The staff at this location informed us that our puppy DID test positive for the disease. They mentioned that the staff at the adoption location made a mistake and were coached and corrected. We never received a call from them. I just hope they did the right thing and called the other adopters who adopted these puppies under the pretense that their puppies are negative for this disease. What made it worse was one of the staff members attempted to shift the blame on my wife and I stating that during the adoption process "many adopter's don't understand what's going on because it's a lot of information and they're so excited about their puppy". The audacity to say something like that when WE were given MISinformation. So now, we are taking time off of work to drive 1 hour away to refill his antibiotics and have follow up appointments every few weeks. We will have to have a full blood test to make sure his organs are not affected by this disease and this will come out of our pocket. Like I mentioned in the beginning. We love our puppy and will continue to do everything we can to make sure he is healthy. But the financial, time, and emotional burden was not something that we signed up for. We adopted our puppy contingent upon the fact that he was disease free. Whether or not this screw up on the part of the adopters was willfully done or sheer incompetence I will never know. In summary, if you are looking for a pet; go elsewhere. read more

We made the decision to add to our dog pack during the quarantine and even with the regulations we had a seamless experience. After emailing them to let them know which pups we wanted to meet, we scheduled a meeting (helped with wait time). We found Priceless pets at an adoption event in Costa Mesa, they had such a nice setup and a big truck full of cute caged critters to visit with. So we were inspired to help out. I have a teen that adores cats so I must stay with her as a guardian, not a volunteer myself (but Of course I try to help). I noticed the compassion and love to all these animals from the staff, and how dedicated they are to finding forever homes, even for the most "unlikely adoptable" critters with special needs. There is So Much to do there from cleaning cages everyday to walking canines. Please consider donating your time and energy to this amazingly clean and compassionate "no kill " shelter, you will NEVER go home saying "I wish I wouldn't have done that".
