I'm pretty sure finger tattoos are not suppose to look like this. I think it's because the tattoo artist was heavy handed and packed it with too much ink on the thin skin of the finger.. It's been a while since I got this tattoo, I was waiting for it to heal and hopefully look better but this is how it came out. Same with my husbands. We came together to get matching tattoos and now it looks like jail tattoo!!! I even reached out the the manager via yelp and no response. The least they can do is offer to fix my tattoo or money back... I even tipped the dude just because that's what your suppose to do, but now i'm so disappointed! read more

Came in to get my first tattoo with Beto. I made a $100 deposit which he said could be refundable if you need to reschedule/cancel your appointment within 24 hrs. First red flag, was his attitude, he said he cannot guarantee how the tattoo may look like on skin etc, etc just negative... As the time came closer, I kept asking Beto what my tattoo will look like before coming in. Second red flag, he could only provide an outline of what the tattoo may look like. (Never got it) Last red flag, He explained he sketches last min. (see photo) which is understandable if you are busy. But as this is my first tattoo, of course, I'd like to see what I am getting on my body permanently. Even the day before I never got a picture of what tattoo may look like. I had a really great experience with the artist Vicky, however while i was getting tattooed a different artist had their mask off and was taking maskless customers. It was extremely uncomfortable for me and felt unsafe. Still would recommend Vicky as she did a great job and was very kind, but I wouldn't come to this shop if you're at risk for Covid. read more

A few months later...i struggled to hold onto my tattoo money. But I made my appointment I vowed not to cancel. No matter what! It was a bit of a drive but not too bad. Let me start off by saying I do love my tattoo... The work is great so that's why I'm giving him 3 stars. I do however want to share my experience because I definitely appreciate others reviews, and take them into consideration when making a decision on where I spend my money and invest my time. I feel that getting a tattoo is a very important decision you make as you are altering your body and appearance that will last you the rest of your life.. That being said, it should be a fun and exciting experience... I was referred here by a family member who has had several pieces done here so I thought I'd check them out My experience with Christian Alcala was not as I would have liked it to be. I came in for a cover up and set up an appointment with him for two weeks later. I put a $100 deposit down and emailed him my references the very next day and asked him to let me know if he needed any more. I did not hear back. I texted him a few days before our scheduled appointment and still did not hear back. The day before our appointment I called the shop and the person I spoke with did not know where he was and suggested I call him. So I called him and left a message and still no response. Day of our scheduled appointment I call the shop again at this point almost certain it's not going to happen. The shop was willing to work with me ( thank you) however I finally heard back from Christian a couple hours later. Now let me say this... I understand that life happens and sometimes things get busy. I'm very understanding in this area however when it's not conveyed to me until a few hours before our scheduled appointment I've lost almost all compassion. I do not feel that in two weeks time a single text couldn't have been sent with an explanation a confirmation even a reschedule.. Skipping through a bunch of details my appointment was rescheduled to the following evening. So it's my understanding that when you set an appointment it allows the artist time to come up with a couple drawings for you to choose from when you come in. Our appointment was set for 4pm and Christian had not even begun a single drawing. I was not in the chair until 8 o'clock.. Why I waited an additional 4 hours when he was not ready I don't know... Stupid me! On top of the poor communication and lack of professionalism he changed the price on me more than once bringing it up several times while working on me. Something that should have been settled on before hand. Although I do like the design he came up with now it was not what I had asked for in the beginning. He told me it was an easy cover up and in the end was not. He insisted I get a rose which don't get me wrong he is great at doing them it's just not what I asked for or had in mind.. Unfortunately I had to go back as he was not able to complete it all at once. More scheduling issues.. It's very difficult to get ahold of him. After waiting 5 years to do the cover up my experience was very stressful.. I was very upset with the lack of communication.. If I'm paying you for a service the customer service should be great.. needless to say I will not be returning for the other pieces I want done... Disappointed. read more

When my dad's mom passed I decided I wanted to get a tattoo for her, then when my mom's mom passed almost a decade later I decided it was finally time to actually get it done. After searching and visiting shops for a few months, I, half-heartedly, searched Orange County Tattoo in google search and OC Tattoo popped up. I opened the page to their old site and looked through some of the work, when I came across Sara Delara's work, and immediately realized I'd found my artist. My piece was going to be a fairly simple design of a cross with a ribbon wrapped around it and my grandmother's names in the ribbon. And on her section of their website she had crosses and all kinds of fonts and lettering. I visited the shop and met Sara who was very kind and patient and helped me decide on exactly what I wanted. I put a down payment on a design and told her not to rush, it'd take me a while to scrape together some funds. I contacted her a couple of months later for a picture of the design and we tooled with it for a bit until she sent me exactly what I wanted to see. A couple of months after that I called, set up an appointment and went in. Sara was very good with trying to have me feel as little pain as possible, while also working quickly without losing any quality. Less than two hours later, without a tear shed (which I was sure going in that I would be bawling) I had a magnificent homage on my shoulder blade. I can't speak for the rest of the artists, but from what I've seen online they're all professionals. And as for Sara herself I couldn't recommend her more highly, especially for any pieces that have to do with lettering. I WILL be returning to the shop, and have in fact sent in four ideas to Sara herself for estimates. Do yourself a favor, if you live anywhere near the shop and are considering a tattoo, take a look at their site or stop in to the store. read more

Ever have a spur of the moment kind of day? Well today I definitely did. For awhile now, I have been researching tattoo artists who do great portraits, however I never really found any that caught my attention. I've been wanting to get a portrait of my siblings since forever and today was definitely the time to do it. The way I work is I am a last minute client because I find that when I'm going through rough times in my life, it is the best time to get my tattoo. I don't do well with the whole schedule an appointment ect... I found Patrick through OC Tattoos Instagram and I was blown away. I like his work so I shot him a text around 6:15pm in hopes he was there and free. He responded back and I let him know exactly what I wanted. I noted that I wanted the piece done TODAY and he accommodated me. Got to the shop around 7:45ish pm and there I saw Patrick already working with the pics I sent him. I waited 15ish mins for him to sketch and then it was time! I was nervous because portraits are very detailed and particular so I was crossing my fingers it'll be great. Patrick is very easy going, easy to talk to, and I could be myself around him. He threw in his own little ideas like shading and where the quote should be placed. Hey he's the artist so I trust him. Patrick was extremely focused while working on my piece and just seeing little bits and pieces during our breaks I was already happy! The poor guy didn't get to leave until 3:15ish AM. He wasn't bitter or annoyed that he had to stay back. He kept insuring me that he loves what he does and that my piece was fun. I felt a bond and connection with Patrick as every client should and I can't wait to recommend him to everyone. He's the nicest person ever and I am a million % satisfied with his work. Had my tattoo and my partners tattoo done on 3/1/14. Here is my review So I originally had come into the shop on Sunday 2/23/14 to set an appointment. I talked to one artist who set up our appointment, took our deposit and gave me his # to send more examples to and so he could send me the sketches. Monday, nothing. Tuesday, nothing, so I sent some more ideas. Wednesday, nothing, and we even simplified the tattoo. Thursday, promised to have something for me the next day. Friday, nothing until 4pm and only because I text him that I wanted my deposit back. The sketch was only one tattooo, not the second and NOT what we asked for. At this point we were furious! I called to talk to the manager Eddie who said it was okay for us to use our deposit with another artist and handed the phone to Patrick. I set up an appointment with him and told him I would send him what we wanted. Patrick got right on it. We had not just one sketch but the corrections of what we kept sending back to him. What a difference! This guy actually cared enough to make us happy and wasn't lazy about it. The sketches were done that night that I talked to him. Obviously it wasn't difficult, he did it in a couple hours, when the other guy couldn't even give us one of what we wanted in 5 days. We came in the next day and got our tattoos. They came out great. OC Tattoo is dopeee! My cousin came to visit me and insisted in getting a tattoo before he left. I wasn't quite sure where to take him so I yelped a couple places. OC Tattoo came up and after reading all the great reviews, looking at the work of the artists, and finding out they take walk-ins I decided to take him there. We went on a Wednesday hoping that it wasn't busy and if they could take us in that very second. Once we got there Vince welcomed us and told us Mondo will be working with us asap. Mondo did such a great job! He did exactly what my cousin wanted and was so chill during the whole processes making it easy, comfortable, and quick. Compared to other tattoo shops I've been too, this place definitely has a better vibe. The staff are welcoming and they don't have a stick up their a$$.
