Great service got what I needed in and out and good prices. Will not get tires anywhere else

Nice small local friendly and knowledgeable customer service. Appears to also have great prices on tires. We are from out of town and stopped in off the freeway to have them check a strange brake noise, we were hearing. The young man had us quickly up on the rack where an older well experienced gentleman did a thorough check for a problem. He assured us there was nothing serious wrong just a rock that had kicked up. Although they knew we were from out of town, they did not want to charge us for their time and knowledge. We insisted they accept a few dollars for a beer after work. My experience with this business convinced me they are a knowledgeable, honest, and considerate business. If I lived closer I would be one of their regular customers! Thanks guys! read more

I was helping my nephew with his truck tire that had a slow leak in it. So I took the tire off at my house and inspected the tire with soapy water. There was no screws or nails. As there was only one leak in entire tire and it was the valve stem. I arrived at the tire ocampo tires and rolled my tire into the shop and told the older short guy with grayish hair that I need valve stem replaced. He said ok. I walk back out to my truck to make sure I locked it up. I walked back into the shop and the guy said you're gonna need a new tire there is a screw in it. I said what! Then he showed me. There was a long screw that was freshly screwed in. That is bull shit I just inspected the whole tire the night before. And rolled the tire all the way into the shop. This place is a rip off don't go there.you will be taken advantage off. I ended up having to buy another tire from him. He knew what he was doing. About two years prior to that I had my trucks tires rotated. Got home and double checked my lug nuts and there were several still not tight. Beware don't go there. Quality work not done there. So this is a slightly different I had a package that was delivered to Ocampo Tires by mistake from the delivery company. I was notified that I had arrived at Ocampo. I called the shop, and I spoke to the owner. I asked if he had a large brown package with blue polka dots there, with my name on it. He said he didn't see it, but that he would ask. He said they were a small shop and only had 5 people working there, and that he would ask when he had a chance. Fair enough. I went in to the shop a few hours later, with a picture from the delivery. I showed the man that was there, "I said look, here is a picture showing it was delivered right here inside your shop". He stated that no he didn't know where my package was. He also said that people walk in and out of his shop all the time, and that someone probably stole it...so your telling me that people just steal your packages all the time??? That's a shitty way to do business. And I would try to change that and make things more secure. The next day, I was stewing thinking about it. And here is where my problem lies. My package was clearly delivered to them. The proof is in the picture. But it did not have their address, nor the name of Ocampo Tires, it had my name on the package. So why not reject the package? No they did not do that. The shipping company stated that Ocampo Tires did indeed keep my package. So I went back in and I asked again, this time with a little more aggression behind it. and I stated, "this is a business, your telling me that when packages come in, you aren't opening them to check in your inventory? So that day that my package arrived you didn't question that a brown box with polka dots was delivered to a tire shop???" So they received my package, did not return to sender, did not take it to the correct address, or hold it, instead they kept it. It was full of clothes, which at this point is not important. Its the principle of the matter. Salida, is a small town. Like super small. And I am all about promoting small business', but if they are willing to keep a package and lie about it. Watch your bolt locks. If you leave and try to return for them you're answer will be "you didn't leave it here". They don't even bother try looking for it. Just isnt here. They got a box with a lot of them but won't try to even see if yours is in there. They say they have them for people without the lug nut lock keys but they had to have gotten them some way. I'm stuck paying for a new one and waiting on getting my new set of tires. read more

It must be told that a compass tires is the best value friendly service they have a sense of urgency to help they even make away to get the tire or Rim you need. I went in for a rim and tire for a Lexus they actually had it they are very generous and helping me get a rim and tire . And in the past I've gone in they get me in fast and they're just great and professional .So if you need a good rim and tire and honesty, which is hard to find now a days definitely need to go to this place. I came here for an alignment on my Honda CRV. A couple weeks later, I removed the wheel cover on my spare tire because I noticed it was flat. To my surprise, I discovered the tire was torn apart, not to mention was not the brand or size of tire I had previously. This was the only place I had left my car with no supervision. Not only that, but there was also a lock on the spare tire (key was in the car), which leads me to believe this place switched out my tire. I went in there to speak to the owner not expecting a refund or new tire, but looking for some sort of explanation only to be disregarded and laughed at. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to be ripped off by the owner!! read more

When u ask for a patch and they proceed with a plug even though I asked twice for a patch. Patch and plug are two different things. I guess some places just think that some of us don't know the difference. Won't be going back here at all. Sad for sure. Love try and help small biz. We called and got a quote for 4 tires. We told them that we would be there in an hour, we left and arrived just under an hour from the time we called and they closed early and made us waste an hour drive simply to turn around and go back home. We are already on borrowed time with the tires on our truck, not to mention we wasted the gas going there for no reason. I guess we will be buying 4 tires from someone else. Put 2 snow tires on my car when I said I was going to la, not sure why snow was the choice, both tires separated less than a month later, I hesitantly went back to see if they would make it right so they "gave me a new tire" for free. Bought some lug nuts for some rims on my BENZ here. They had the size I was looking for, I bought a set for all 4 wheels and paid $200 less than I would have paid if I bought them at the dealer! Family business that isn't out to take advantage of you. They gave me a good deal on 2 used tires to get me through the rainy season and then some. Fixed the leaky valve stem on one of my good tires. It's weird in a great way, that you can drive in and get service almost immediately. I'll be checking their prices when my brakes are ready for replacement.
