This place has become my go-to stop for our monthly early breakfast. My wife and I have a monthly early morning appointment near here and we keep this place on our rotation of breakfast joints. Yes, I said breakfast joints. I'm well aware it's a "coffee" place, but if you haven't stopped in for a fresh crepe, you are seriously missing out on a hidden gem in Gig Harbor. I usually get whatever the special is, because they generally have a killer special crepe, and I have yet to be disappointed by them. My wife has sampled several of the regular menu item crepes and been very happy with all of them so far. She is a super picky eater, so this is a pretty big statement. Her favorite is the Bacon, Turkey, Avocado crepe. They don't skimp on the avocado either, big slices! It can be hard to locate, it is inside the Olympic Medical Building. From the outside you'd never even know it was there. But once we decided to check it out and found it, this place became one of favorites. It can be slow sometimes, so if you're in a really big hurry you may want to gauge the line. But we usually hit it just before 9am and it's not too busy. Really love the crepes here, highly recommend giving them a try. Oh yeah, they also do paninis too. The shop is located inside a medical building - right on the first floor and also sells small trinkets. They offer bakery items, crepes (sweet and savory), variety of drinks (coffee, matcha, lattes, bottled beverages), sandwiches and some other easily available food. The employees greet customers as they enter but service is on the slower side as I only saw two girls working and it was fairly busy for a smaller shop. I originally came in for a drink and saw they had savory crepes, so I decided to try their popular Turkey, Bacon, Avocado crepes- it was amazing! The make the crepe into a wrap and the filling plentiful. The crepe was the perfect texture and thickness (didn't rip, spilling all the contents). The matcha lavender latte I got (based on the photo ad of it) was disappointing. The ad they have is a matcha latte with lavender foam, but when I received the drink it was just matcha with no foam. So I asked where the lavender was and the employee said it was a syrup. I tried the drink and the matcha itself wasn't the best and the drink was grainy. I wouldn't order that again but I'd try a latte next time. Overall, great selection of food and most items are made to order - which takes some time but the crepes are worth it! read more

Occasions is such a cute, local coffee shop located inside the medical building on Pt Fosdick. This time only ordered a hot London Fog latte, it was delicious! The barista was so kind and helpful. They offer milk alternatives and sugar free syrup options. While you wait for your drink or crepes, you can look around their store where they have cold beverages, snacks, a sandwich case, greeting cards, magnets, and other neat trinkets for purchase. You can stop in before or after your appointment, or just stop by the neighborhood for a sweet or savory crepe. I definitely plan to come back for the crepes another time! Went in to get ice for my wife's mouth for just having had surgery, the rude lady who took our order over charged us for a 5$ cookie and didn't give it to us. I went back and asked why two coffees were 19$ with a tip, before leaving. She said oh I did put a cookie on there and didn't verify we had one but charged anyway. Also accused my son of stealing from the tip jar. When we clarified we didn't want a cookie and we also clarified that he put his own money in the tip jar. Whoever owns this place I recommend you replace this person. Lost our business for good. And to top it off, the coffee is about as good as if you used a One time k-cup 3 times. read more

This little gem is hidden inside the Franciscan Medical Building on Point Fosdick and I've wanted to stop before or after appointments for years. Dang I've been missing out! This place hit the spot after wrangling kids at the Dr. Office! I think we have started a new tradition for sure! We tried a strawberry, banana, Nutella crepe and it looked like a massive burrito snuggled up with a giant cloud of freshly whipped cream. My kids dream come true! It had a wonderful note of Mexican Cinnamon to give it a little additional interest. I had the lemon curd crepe and it had excellent flavor. I wouldnt recommend it as a stand-alone meal as the flavors would be better spread out with other bites of savory food as well. But the lemon curd was fabulous. There were many other menu items I'm excited to try! Time to add on an extra 25 min to every appointment because we are for sure stopping here regularly! read more

This is the best kept secret in Gig Harbor! Located in the Olympic Medical Center, this shop has a little bit of everything....coffee, crepes, sandwiches, salads, muffins, tea, books, cards, and homemade pottery and other trinkets. I am not a huge crepe fan, but I love a good veggie sandwich and they nailed it! The grilled eggplant panini...wow! The staff is very attentive and the owner, Ray, always comes out to the seating area to check on the guests. On top of great food and great service, they have free wi-fi! But what annoyed me enough to write this review is that he didn't charge the woman in front of me for Almond milk but charged me for it (I paid $4.29 for supposedly a "$3.25" 12oz latte). When I brought that to his attention, his reply was, "Yours takes more than hers." Seriously, what a rip off. Good customer service would have explained that better (not to mention making an adjustment considering what he did for the customer in front of me) but I guess he doesn't want all customers for return business. read more

They're not closed. Its official. I'm addicted to crepes. But that's only if its made by the masters here at Occasions Coffee & Crepes. Located at the Olympic medical plaza, within the hospital/pharmacy facility, this is not your typical spot for exceptional quality and taste. This is the best of the best, and I'm here to put them on the map, and make sure they need to hire more staff, and acquire more seating arrangements. Our focus here, as stated, are the crepes. Namely, my all-time, taste-bud seducing favorite, the "Chicken-Bacon Swiss". Holy crap ... this thing is beyond incredible. Wrapped in a mammoth-sized crepe which is comparable to a "Mondo Burrito" at Taco Del-Mar, includes fresh chicken, bacon, swiss cheese, avocado, and ceaser dressing, for some serious fulfillment. Normally, half of it goes home with me, and I'm a big eater! I can't say anymore as to how good this is .... its really undefinable, until you try it! At first you think, "Why am I paying $6.95 for a freakin' crepe?". Well, as I said, you get what you pay for, and this thing is HUGE! Not only satisfyingly large in proportion (that's right ladies, I went there) it's as fresh as it gets. No pre-cut anything. He opens up the avocado on the spot. Again, compare this size-wise to a Mondo Burrito, I'm not kidding. Quality definitely goes into this bad-boy, and you definitely get the value out of it. That huge avocado itself, is $2.00 in supply as it is! And there's no bacon bits on this sucker ... we're talking like 4 slices, at least. No joke. To top it off, they serve great coffee as well as many other choices, and have a great selection of random "gift shop" supplies as well. To put it one way, I actually have no problem sitting outside in the hallway at the table, while patients/visitors are walking through. Trust me, you won't even know you're there! The only recommendation I can make, is to bring your own fork, as it is slightly difficult to cut through this with a plastic one! And making things even better, they usually come by a few minutes later and make sure you are satisfied with your order. I have never been able to say no. Really, if it was in my budget, I'd be there everyday. If you want nothing but originality, value, and freshness .... there is no comparison. Get there ASAP! I've eyeballed this place for a few years. I was starving last well when I was finished with other business in the area. I ordered the red pepper crepe and, by suggestion of the clerk, I added roast beef. So glad I did! The crepe was very generous in filling and had avocado, roasted red peppers, spinach,roast beef, and a kind of tangy cheese spread. It was DELICIOUS! Very filling and fresh. At the time their espresso machine wasn't working so I had a cup of their drip, it was pretty good. My second trip today was even better. I had their apple and brie crepe and they lemon curd crepe - more than enough food for my son and I. They didn't disappoint at all. Same fresh ingredients, same generous proportions. I must sing the praises of their lemon curd! I am a lover of lemon and I was expecting a commercially prepared curd, something like lemon pudding. I was shocked that this curd seemed homemade. It had intense lemon flavor (lots and lots of zest mixed in). It was tangy, it was creamy, it was excellent. I can't say for sure it is home made but it seemed so. On my next visit I will ask. I bought a small refrigerated (apx 10 oz) mango drink out of their refrigerated beverages next to the register. There was no listed price so I was a little surprised when the teenage boy at the register swiped my card & handed me a receipt of $3.90. I commented that the price seemed a little high for such a small drink & politely suggested they post prices next to their drinks. I recently went to Occasions and was really disappointed. The review on here led me to believe that I was missing out on something really good. But what I experienced was mediocrity. For one thing going into a medical center to get a crepe is not convenient and sends a weird vibe, it is just odd. Anyways I didn't let that stop me from trying it out. As I went in to the Medical Center I found it, no problems there. But when I entered it I felt as if it was a High School Student store. Not really pleasing to the eyes. But who cares right? as long as there is good food and customer services it could still be okay. But no, I was greeted by a rude employee, and when I asked for their so called "crepes" I was disappointed to learn that my first two choices of flavors were all out. They basically had nothing on their menu, and I had to settle for what they had. I got mine to go, didn't feel like eating in a hallway of a doctors office. I was disappointed about the whole product. It was not what I was lead to believe on this site. Which is why I felt that I needed to write a review so that nobody else was fooled like I was. I ate half and had enough. I put it where it belonged. In the trash. I do feel bad for writing a bad review but I was just so disappointed that I felt it was the right thing to do. Honesty is always right, I cant just sit here and let others be let down. Definitely will never be back and will never speak of this place again. Simply amazing. I first had one of their crepes when they had a booth set up at the Farmers Market this past May. Recently my husband picked up some crepes to go. One was a savory crepe for my husband (which he loved) and the other was a crepe with strawberries for me. It was absolutely delicious. A very generous portion, great whipped cream, and juicy fresh strawberries. This place really hits the spot!!! I will Be frequenting this place. Update: I still love this place. The only downside I will mention is that sometimes the crepes are generous portions with lots of strawberries and whipped cream. But a few times I've gotten a much smaller crepe with a lot less toppings. So it's not always consistent. read more
