Not quite what I had expected, but I'm still glad I ate here! The waffles are folded sort of like a taco with the toppings inside. I ordered the Gig's Up with added banana, and my husband ordered the Benji. The food was tasty and prepared quickly. It was wrapped in foil so it's easy to-go food if you're walking around the area. The cashier wasn't too friendly, and the restaurant is technically inside of a convenience market, part bar? That's the part I wasn't expecting, but it was cool. Very local small town vibes, and most people were drinking beers and chatting rather than eating waffles. I'll come back, probably take it to-go though.

Our neighboring table had the Dubai waffles and he was gushing over the taste! Bacon was cooked perfectly.. Thank you for making my 45 min drive with it! I'll definitely be back!

Walking into the establishment it was well lit and the decor was simple but efficient. I was seated promptly and the menu and a glass of water so their after. It was a two sided menu, with a good variety for breakfast and lunch items too. I ordered breakfast. The service was consistent as my server did check on me and asked if I had any questions about the menu. I asked one and they were very polite explaining it. After my order showed up, I proceeded to eat it all. The combination of the eggs, tomatoes, bacon and cheese was equally satisfying and balanced. It was topped with Avocado slices ( slightly brown, but still good). The sourdough toast appeared to be from a freshly made loaf ( served with soft butter and raspberry jam) and the hash browns were cooked lightly. Overall this place will do well in this part of town. Yes, I would return again. Good service, good selection and great prices too!!

Since this is a popular place in Gig Harbor you can expect a long wait on a sunny day, but staff do a great job of turning tables and getting everyone seated as promptly as possible. So don't let the line deter you from going here-trust me, it's worth it to be patient for this one!

Great place. Good luck finding a parking spot during the hours they're open…read more Excellent service; equally excellent coffee. I had the BLT, which was very good, but nothing I'd leave Arizona for (by itself). What WAS superlative in all regards was the Tomato Bisque soup, which IS THE BEST I've had. THAT I'd drive from Arizona for. Two of us at the table had the "Stuffed Biscuit" -- which was an excellent Portuguese sausage wrapped in a biscuit, all drowning in a sea of red gravy based on the sausage. One other person at the table with us had some form of pancakes loaded with all sorts of sweet stuff: I tried the stuffed sausage but wasn't offered a bite o' pancakes. Oh, what the young can eat! Other than parking is the matter of prices. Four breakfasts, 3 coffees, 1 soda: $125.00 before tip. Breathtaking food: breathtaking prices.

We left there early and by the time we reached Gig Harbor we were most certainly in the mood for breakfast. Apparently lots of other people did to and also it must frequently that idea in town as it was quite busy. We were informed that there was a wait but it wasn't a bad one and the restaurant looked highly enticing so we put our names on the list. When we were called we sat at the bar. Which was fine... we weren't about to be choosey. We ordered our food and we enjoyed immensely when we got it. I got a waffle with strawberries and cream which was amazing! The waffle was perfection, the fruit was fresh. Just wonderful! I also saw breakfast potatoes and they looked great too so I ordered some of those too. No big surprise... they were excellent! Steve and I both got a Bloody Mary and it was so good! It had a nice, spicy kick to it and was great! Some mornings call for a Bloody Mary and this one fit the bill nicely! Steve got a great tasting omelet and he had no complaints either! It's definitely worth the wait to get a table... not a shred of doubt with that.

The Food * Biscuits & Gravy: Forget the stale, "day-old"…read morebiscuits and watery gravy you find elsewhere. These were a revelation; fluffy, flaky, and buttery. The gravy was thick, rich, and absolutely bursting with savory flavor. It's the gold standard. * Banana Bread French Toast: This was a great "breakfast dessert." It was dense, incredibly moist, and hit that perfect note of sweetness without being overwhelming. Pure decadence on a plate. Atmosphere & Service We arrived right at 7:00 AM and were treated to a lovely sunrise reflecting off the water. Honestly, there isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff was the perfect blend of friendly and efficient, and even the fellow patrons seemed to be in a great mood--which speaks volumes about the vibe here. Bottom line: Incredible food, stellar views, and a warm, welcoming energy. We'll be back!

Our waiter, Mark, was incredibly attentive -- checking in regularly, keeping drinks topped off, and making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Exactly the kind of hospitality that makes a meal memorable. We started with the Guacamole Sampler -- Traditional, Carlito's Way, and Austin Style -- served with warm housemade chips and their signature salsa. Every style had its own personality, and the flavors were spot‑on across the board. A fantastic way to kick off the meal. For my entrée, I went with the Seasonal Al Pastor Tamales, and wow... this dish is a true taste of the south. The ancho, guajillo, and achiote citrus slow‑roasted pork was rich and tender, perfectly balanced by cumin black beans, pickled pineapple, white onion, and serrano salsa. Every bite had depth, heat, and brightness. My wife ordered the Smoked Chicken Tomatillo Soup -- hominy, red bell peppers, carrots, onions, chipotle, buttermilk crema, cilantro, and blue corn tortilla strips. Served with fresh housemade sopes, it was comforting, flavorful, and beautifully layered. A perfect bowl for any season. We also shared the Navajo Fry Bread -- honestly, this should be listed under desserts. Warm, soft, slightly sweet, and absolutely delicious. The overall vibe was relaxed and inviting. It can get a bit noisy -- especially for someone like me who's hard of hearing -- but the energy is still warm and enjoyable. Cactus never disappoints. From the kitchen to the front‑of‑house, the team consistently delivers great food, great service, and a great experience. Hats off to the cooks and staff for another fantastic visit.
