We visited this place for a second time this past week and found it so-so this time around. I personally enjoy raw oysters and we've visited this place before and liked them so wanted to come back to try out the food. We were seated and greeted right away, but our server seemed visibly annoyed. We picked up on the vibe and decided to just keep things as easy as possible. We ordered a half dozen oysters and they were great. Love the mini Tabasco bottles they bring to the table with them. For dinner, I ordered the pasta and my bf ordered the fish and chips. I found the pasta to be bland, lacking flavor and salt. The shrimp was a tad overcooked as well, so wasn't impressed. He found the fish okay, but did say the fries were good. At least now we have an idea of what type of vibe to go here for us now. The restaurant is really cool and the atmosphere is so vibrant, but for us the food and the noise level makes dinner not our thing. After chatting about the restaurant's raw-bar offerings with our great server Ms. P., any doubts I had had about partaking in the consumption of raw oysters south of the Mason-Dixon line melted away after sucking down a few of O&A's treasures sourced from the great state of Virginia. Smallish but with deep cups, these little gems went well with the night's special cocktail: a Ford's Gin martini. We moved on to a very nice starter: Burrata, heirloom tomatoes & fresh strawberries, perfect for two to share along with a fresh tasting & well balanced tuna tartare, again enough for two to share. Our Caesar salad was perfectly dressed & paired well with our dinner entree of fish & chips made with Cod. The fry on the fish was great - no grease & the cod itself was very good but we found the batter encompassing the fish too thick, devoid of seasoning & actually a little tough. Tip: batter made with beer or ale will change everything for the better- thanks to the carbonation. Those unfamiliar with the mixed use space in the Halcyon complex will find that this restaurant has one of the nicest patios for outside dining. Inside dining is a mix of booths & tables. High ceilings, shiplap paneling & the openness of the dining room is nice but not so sure how the interior lighting would be in the evening hours if dining in. read more

I came here to celebrate Father's Day with my husband and family. I loved the decor of the place it really gave me an ocean/beach type of feeling. We started off with the hushpuppies and chargrilled oysters. Those were delicious. The hushpuppies were very fresh and hot. The oysters were very tasty. Although you can get more oysters added on they only serve them in a count of 5. I truly feel if a restaurant is serving oysters they should serve them in a half a dozen or in a dozen size. For our entrees my husband ordered the trout and had it blackened with broccolini and mashed potatoes. He said he did enjoy his dish and the next time he tried it he would like to try it grilled. We also ordered a wedge salad in addition to our meals to share. The portions are generous; one wedge salad was plenty for two to share. I ordered the lobster roll with fries and was very pleased with my plate. The roll has a good amount of lobster with the bread being so soft to bite into. We ordered the crème brûlée and I have to say I liked the dish it was served in because it was deep but I would skip this dessert next time. Upon walking in I was informed of a 15 minute wait however I saw lots of tables. After seeing several others being seated, I went back and asked about my wait to which I was informed my table was now ready. I was sat very closely between two other parties. I asked to move to another table near the back and was told due to the wait rotation he wasn't sure if I could have the table but he would check. The other area I asked about was for reservations. I was able to get the table near the back after going to ask if that was ok. Immediately greeted by the waitress and another who was in training. I ordered a passion fruit mojito and my cousin a strawberry mojito. We had a clear feeling of the bar. She saw two passion fruit mojitos but once the waitress went to grab it she mentioned one was strawberry. Instead of remaking it the bar tender poured strawberry on top. Both mojitos were extremely sweet but good. The mussels were tasty but small. We were offered more bread to go with the broth but was not aware it was being offered at a cost which wasn't high but the offer did not seem like an additional item. The crab cake was amazing. On a wednesday at 6, they appeared short handed but never missed a beat. The service was great, the atmosphere was vibrant and lively but not too loud. Our waitress Alex and here counterparts did a fabulous job and is what earned them the 5th star. We started with beer, wine and a shrimp cocktail, the shrimp tasted fresh and tasty. I came here for dinner with my family, and our experience was ok. We walked in without a reservation and were seated quickly. The waiter was friendly, and he provided some solid suggestions. Service was decent. I do really like the interior and exterior decorations, but I wish the lighting was just a tad bit brighter. We ordered: Crab cakes: these are pretty standard crab cakes. $18 doesn't really feel worth it given how much of the crab cakes are filler. They did taste alright, but honestly they're not that much different from Red Lobster crab cakes. Burrata: actually really tasty, but they should include more of the toast to spread it on. They only give you 2 pieces. Tuna tartare: tasty but with the same issue as the burrata. Not enough lavosh chips. Lobster bisque: not too heavy in a good way. Not overly salty, and it felt like you could eat it guilt free. NOLA shrimp and grits: my brother's entree. Shrimp was overcooked unfortunately, but decent otherwise. Bouillabaisse pasta: my mom's entree. Very solid entree. Big portion of pasta with lots of different seafood. Sauce was well made, and the seafood in this was cooked well (although a few of the mussels weren't 100% clean but that's excusable I suppose). Red wine braised short rib: my dad's entree. Very disappointing. The short rib was overcooked and tough rather than tender. Winter squash risotto: my entree that I added chicken to. The chicken was a bit dry, but the risotto itself was very tasty. Generous portion size (which can be said about all the entrees). Really liked the garlic confit and the mushrooms. Overall, this is a decent place to get dinner if you're at the Halcyon. Cute vibes, and the food is alright. read more

The oysters were fabulous and juicy, the chargrilled lobster was incredible, and I got the beet salad with a side of chargrilled shrimp that was perfect for a hot day. We got to Halycon early and got drinks walked around so the girls could run around and we could listen to the live music before dinner. We got to restaurant and Our booth was being prepared. Ordered our drinks and some appetizers. Calamari and crab cake. My husband had blackened snapper and nephew had fried snapper. Niece had shrimp and grits. I had the wagyu medallions with asparagus and mashed taters. Great nieces had a kids burger and the other had Ahi tuna poke. All dishes were prepared and presented beautifully. We loved this spot. First of all the service was amazing. Our server Shea was so cheerful and attentive. Another server was her backup and checked on us a couple of times as well. The restaurant had a great vibe. We were with some friends and we were able to have great conversation without having to shout. The restaurant and bar were bothfull. Inconsistent - I ordered online here before and like the salmon but the second time I ordered the chicken and it was dry. It was supposed to come with asparagus which was why I ordered it but it came with tasteless squash instead. The side of bread was unimpressive also. I also ordered a kid's salmon tacos and it did not come with the side I ordered plus the cheese on the taco was incredibly greasy. Since they put the salad in the same box as the taco it was greasy also. When you are paying the prices this place charges, everything should be amazing. When you leave a restaurant knowing four employees by name, chances are they did something right. Manager Giovanni is one of the coolest cats I've met in awhile. He knows how to wow a guest! Chef Juan is not only great at what he does, he's a great guy too. He knows food! Server Carolina wants you to have a fantastic meal and works hard to make sure it happens. She knows customer service! Hostess Mia wants your visit to start off right. She knows how to offer the type of genuine smile and greeting you can't help but want to reciprocate! The steak, the fish, the espresso, the key lime pie (Jesus, the key lime pie!) are all as memorable as the staff. This was our first visit to Ocean & Acre but it won't be our last. read more

We've been here a few times and enjoy our meal every time we come. The interior is unmistakably nautical. One of the light fixtures looks like a canoe and there are seashells decorations throughout. Whether we have a reservation or not, we're normally seated pretty quickly. There's also seating on the outside patio which is wonderful when it's nice out. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful and ready to make suggestions if you require any. The last time we came here was my wife treating me for my birthday. My wife started off with one cup of lobster bisque which she enjoyed and we shared the English Stilton wedge salad. I had the pan-seared red fish that I had prepared blackened. It was delicious. My wife had the cast iron crab cake which she liked a lot. Even though they have steaks, we always tend to get their seafood. We highly recommend giving Ocean & Acre a try! read more

So far we are loving it as we enjoy happy hour. Our margaritas were FANTASTIC and made by Eric. Our happy hour appetizers were delicious. The shrimp on the shrimp cocktail were BIG and delicious!! The fried shrimp is on the tempura batter. Definitely smaller than the shrimp on the shrimp cocktail. The batter isn't to thick. The sauce that is comes with has a small kick at the end but nothing to unmanageable unless you just don't like spice/heat. Comes bedded with greens and they are yummy but no dressing. My happy hour margarita for $7 was so incredibly tasty. I don't like boozy but a blend of alcohol and taste and it was perfect!! Our bartender Eric was fabulous and we will definitely be back to enjoy the happy hour and hopefully he'll be bartending when we do return. Very kind, and helpful especially since we are new to Georgia. Now onto the restaurant, we are loving the outside bar. Sitting at the outside bar and it's relaxing, casual, and almost a feel of being on vacation. Our bartender said "it's the best outside patio on this side" and so far I agree. Tonight we will also be eating at the restaurant so I'll review that as well. Of course we are at the Halcyon and have enjoy being here. Definitely filling for us since we had already shared the shrimp cocktail and fried shrimp on the happy hour menu. Our daughter had the Waygu Beef Medallion plate. Said the meat was very good especially the sauce served on the side with her meat. She said it was "on point!" However the mashed potatoes were more on the chunky side, not smooth & creamy enough for her tastebuds. I don't think she was a huge fan of the asparagus either. The drink she ordered was the Beach Boy which she was told it was like a Pina Colada. It was tasty but very sweet. My son ordered clam chowder and also said it was okay. The best fried shrimp and oysters I've ever had. They've got a great menu here, everything is top notch but my recommendation is to order the Fritto Misto but substitute the fried cod for more oysters. As an appetizer, I suggest either oysters on the half shell or their New England Clam Chowder. The service here is always top notch, the wait staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I also love their laidback, casual vibe and the patio ambiance is especially relaxing. Also worth noting their patio is dog friendly. This is a place we frequent often the food is usually delicious but it just takes longer and longer and longer each time we come. Tonight our server was great! She was helpful, attentive and everything was right. It just shouldn't take 2 hours for this type of meal. We ordered almost right away and didn't get dessert. Two hours is a LONG time! The kitchen really needs to work on timing and I noticed they added more seating outside but they need to be able to accommodate everyone and keep things moving. Ambiance is good. Food is good. Ayyy! So I have no idea why I've never been here because it's close to our house and I love seafood. I had a friend in from out of town and I was running late from work and they picked this place to eat. I absolutely love the ambience here. It was definitely my kind of vibe, chill, but kind of upscale looking. Our server was really good as well. She was friendly and witty. I started with a pomegranate martini, which was so good. I ordered another. For my dinner choice I decided on a side of rice with the tuna poke along with a side Caesar. Everything was really good. The tuna pokey actually came with a little sliver of fresh garlic, which was a nice touch. The marinade was really good and not too salty. It also came with little wonton crisps. Usually, I'm not a fan of wontons, but these tasted more like a cracker to me. The Caesar salad dressing was really good, and the croutons were fresh and flavorful. I just wish I had a little more cheese. We also had a crabcake that we split that was super good, but I was very disappointed that it only came with one, not two. It seemed like everyone loved their food because all the plates were clean. For dessert we got a espresso martini and a Keylime pie that we split. The Keylime was the only big disappointment of the night. It was definitely subpar, a little too tart, not very creamy. Everyone agreed with me on that. I think this is a great date night place, or a place just to catch up with a girlfriend. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes seafood! But even if you don't like seafood, there are plenty of other options with a highly varied menu from soups and salads, appetizers, like hush puppies, po boy sub, state, pork, ribeye.
