We booked the early dinner reservation while on vacation and I'm so glad we did. We were greeted with a friendly hostess who immediately took us to our table. The waiter & a trainee immediately approached the table. We had mussels for an appetizer & each had the filet for main course. All the food was delicious & it was a bonus that during "early bird hours 5-6pm" the entrees are buy one get one 50% off. The atmosphere was great. There was even a stage where they have live music some nights. Towards the end of our meal, the glass patio are was full and became a little loud. It wasn't a bother for us, but if you are looking for a quiet vibe I would suggest going early or requesting to sit inside. Would definitely return! read more

We have been coming to this place for years, the 2 for 1 deal is good, especially in this economy, but I think we reached the point of no return. Came into the restaurant and there were someone ahead of us, the hostess went to seat them , few more people came in behind us when she came back there was no hello or how are you, no smile no hint of friendliness, who's next she asked, I said we were, reservations (no joke one word) was her next response, I said yes and gave our name. She grabbed the menus and marched to our table and in passing said enjoy your dinner without even a look at us and ran away. Now, I get it she was a little busy, but it's not like a bus pulled in, I used to be hostess in my younger days in a very busy restaurant, people were waiting an hour for a table and never had I treated anyone like they were in line in DMV. Now the food, I never considered this place a Michelin class , but food was usually solid. This time the filet was tiny and very chewy, my daughter didn't even wanted to finish it and let me tell you there has never been an instance when she would not finish her steak. Broccoli were mushy, the plates presentation was equal to Lubys cafeteria. My shrimp were at least tasty, my husbands grouper he said was nothing special. At the prices that they are charging it's just no longer worth it. And it all wouldn't have been so bad if the service was good, but it was also mediocre, waitress with zero personality. I did see the hostess running around and bussing tables, I guess they don't have enough personnel. So after 12 years we are calling it quits. After years of coming to Mirimar Beach we finally decided to try Ocean Club Restaurant. We dined early to get the but 1 get one free deal from 5-6 pm. We got seated right away and our server was outstanding. He checked on us often and made sure drinks were never empty. He spaced our soup and salads out nicely before our dinner was brought to the table. The wedge salad was a nice size and you have the choice of ranch, thousand island, or blue cheese. The soup of the day when we went was asparagus and potato soup that was superb. 3 of us got the fish of the day and our other companion got the filet. All the food was cooked to our liking. We ended our meal with an ice cream cake and a slice of key lime. Ambiance needs some updating. I feel like the restaurant is stuck in the 90s and needs to be made current. That is super minor and wouldn't prevent me from coming back. They do have valet service for anyone that prefers that as well. read more

What was once a great restaurant and dining experience is now an average restaurant with overpriced menus and slow service. It was once a very high class dining experience that is rapidly deteriorated. The fried asparagus with crabmeat on top was okay everything else not so much. read more

I had dinner here Saturday night with 3 couples and a single and we had a blast. The service was spot on. The glasses never went unfilled and the server always came to check on us. We started with the bread it was warm and the butter melted so nicely. We started with fried green tomatoes and it was perfect. Not over cooked and it melt in your mouth. The main dishes we had were blackened grouper, filet mignon, the Parmesan chicken, and the fried seafood platter. I recommend every one of the dishes. They came out amazing and nothing was left on the plates. The Resturant ambiance wasn't too loud but was very nice. When I come to visit I will be back for sure again. read more

I guess it is inevitable that another restaurant decides to change things up to make more money during tourist season. The Ocean Club has done exactly that; the early bird dining has changed to buy 1 get the 2nd 50% off. I get it, with the economy but their portions were so tiny and served with only a small amount of rice- no vegetable. Prices increased as well. This was a terrible dining experience. Everyone at our table left hungry. We are locals and have sent our condo guests there for over 30 years, but no more. Shame on you Ocean Club- you can do better. read more

Jim, was eating the grouper which looked great, but the conversation was outstanding and the atmosphere was electrifying at the bar. The bartender was great! I was frustrated when our group picked this restaurant. It was a work trip and work was paying for it and they picked Ocean Club at the time a 3star restaurant. I guess for our group size of 12 it was the only thing we could get. I would love to tell you about the food at The Ocean Club, but we never got that far. Our reservations were for 5:45 on 9/27/23 to catch their Early Bird Special 2 for 1. We arrived early and were seated at 5:45, 15 minutes before the advertised 2 for 1 ended. This is where things go south. Asking our waiter about the special 2 for 1, he looked at us confused because we were seated with the full price menus. Remember, Ocean Club advertises 2 for 1, 5:00-6:00 and our waiter stated the special cuts off at 5:45. Hmmm, sounds like false advertising to me. We have dined at other establishments that honor 5:00-6:00, as long as the server takes your order by 6:00. We asked our waiter to inquire about our eligibility for the 2 for 1 special. He said the hostess gave us the regular priced menus and the 2 for 1 ended at 5:45. He said he would check with the manager, and when he came back he said, since you have the full priced menus, you can't get the 2 for 1. The owner comes in at 6:30, and you can talk to him if you want. At this point we decided to leave the restaurant. The only person concerned that we were leaving without eating was the valet. Waiter - nope Hostess - nope Valet - yep So to summarize Ocean Club adversities 2 for 1 special from 5:00-6:00, but cuts it off at 5:45. Go somewhere else and enjoy. Disappointed though, was really excited to try this restaurant. We visit Destin several times a year and a friend recommended I try it out this time. We used to enjoy this place and looked forward to having dinner there. Our visit last night was simply terrible. The grouper dinner ($39) was underwhelming to say the least. You now get a tiny portion of grouper, maybe 3 oz (about the size a Gordon's Fish Filet). and a scoop of white rice. No vegetable. The owner has eliminated the buy one get one free during the early dinning (5:00 to 6:00), stating he can no longer make it work. With his current dinner portions, theres something amiss. Overpriced and ridiculous portions. We're done. Never again. There are so many better options in the Destin area. Very sad. read more

The service here is outstanding and the food was great! Everything from the valet to the waiter. I loved the cocktail I got (OC on the Rocks) and my food was great too. My parents weren't crazy about their pasta dishes, but the fish my fiancé and I had was awesome. They also have a live band that plays that was super fun! read more

My husband and I went on a Sunday afternoon and arrived at 5:15 to celebrate a birthday. Very intimate table provided by the fish tank. We previously looked online at their menu the night before but were surprised by a 2 for 1 menu that was offered. And it was simply absolutely amazing! We did the Grouper Almondine sauteed and topped with toasted almonds, garlic beurre blanc and meuniere sauce with house vegetables& filet mignon both were perfect with the perfect sauces . My husband did add on scallops which we highly recommend and we also requested additional house lemon sauce on the side which was phenomenal. This place was a 5 hour drive for us othwise we'd be regular customers. Again hats off to the chef our dinner was simply amazing. Dessert: Also noted because of birthday we were provided a absolutely delicious key lime cheesecake slice...which usually we don't like but again completely changed our minds..very light on the sugar and lime tartness and the crust was delightful we ate it all. This place was really tasty! Everything we had was fresh and delicious. Our server was really nice too! The only complaint I had was that we had a reservation and we're not seated for 20 minutes after our reservation. It was pretty busy in there, so because of that we had to stand around the bar and the bar tenders were getting frustrated that we were in the way, which is totally understandable but I wish maybe showed us another waiting area or sat us sooner instead of sighing and shoulder bumping us. Ate here on Saturday night 8/5/23 and the next morning I was covered in hives, never had an allergic reaction to seafood (had red snapper and suspicious looking fried mussels). Our first time visiting here was last year. We enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere on Friday night with fun, upbeat music so we decided to visit again this year. They have good food. We enjoy the fried green tomatoes with their house sauce-which is a browned butter. Some of their other dishes are also served with that sauce, including what I got- the Grouper Ocean club. My husband had the catch of the day, snapper, which was served over a crab cake and their house sauce. Both dishes served with jasmine rice and green beans. Our service has been great both times. The only thing I think would be better is if the customers had a couple options for sides without being upcharged. You are allowed to swap out the rice for a baked potato, but there is an upcharge. I've been to several fine dining establishments and that is unusual to me to not be given options. read more

We have been dining at the Ocean Club for a number of years. Great ambiance, fun atmosphere with a little sophistication is what this club is about. Music is consistently good and will make you get up on the dance floor. Scheduling a reservation is as easy as going to Open Menus app or calling direct. Hostess is always knock out beautiful and polite. The owner has been in the restaurant business since before God created the wind and sun. Food is consistently great and you want find better wait service anywhere on the beach. We have never had a disappointed meal and the drinks are absolutely awesome at the bar. Owner has anger issues and very rude. I brought 9 friends there for dinner and to enjoy an evening of entertainment. I made reservations a day in advance for a specific area, was lied to and given the run around with conflicting excuses from multiple people as to why we couldn't have the table I reserved. The hostess said we could move to the table after dinner for $20 up charge. I would have paid the $20 but the owner walked up and very rudely said we couldn't have the table. I ask my wife to find a place to go eat Thanksgiving because we both are on a weight loss program and since it's just the two of us to find a restaurant. Huge mistake! First they have tiny tables for just two people so tiny the bread basket and 2 salad plates swallow the table top. Second by some dumb luck we got the greenest waitress in the panhandle. The trained waiter had to tell her that we where at her table. I order Cajuin fried Turkey that was obvious cook the day before with Waldorf salad. When the bread did come (not freshly made store bought)I will say it was hot but that was the peak of that hill and it went down hill the rest of the meal. First my salad was maybe a half cup serving and the only peice of melon In it wasn't even peeled. The yogurt dressing was tasty it's just that the salad was maybe 3 tablespoons and gone. Next the waitress brought out the wrong plate of Turkey to me. I must have been oven roasted and had to be the most blandest Turkey that I have ever put in my mouth. Being from south Louisiana knew it was cajun fried Turkey as the skin was soggy and had been sitting ing some kind of heating liquid. I had to flag down the experienced waiter to get it corrected. When the correct meal arrived again the skin was soggy a sure give away that it had been cooked a day earlier. Next I tried to eat their version of green bean casserole and I will give them credit for what appear to be fresh green beans the down fall near a 1/3 of them still had the vine still attached to them. And look like they were just splashing in a creamy base. Just killed it for me. Luckily my wife ordered fish and she said she enjoyed her. But then nobody would serve day old fish. It was very overwhelming obvious that the chief if they have one wasn't working that day nor was a complete trained support staff. My wife second peach martini did come with any fruit as did her first one. My advice is that go some place else. I have a feeling this place has a senior citizen following. read more

What a great spot! We have a place in SanDestin and come a few times a year but never tried this restaurant. The food was good...party of 5. We had told th them in advance we were celebrating a 21st birthday. Lack of a stars is for two things...no acknowledging of the birthday except "Happy Birthday!" As we entered the restaurant. I would have expected something a little more special. Most restaurants have some sort of celebratory dessert, but we didn't ask for anything other than calling ahead. Should have been more specific. The other star is for our waiter being perfectly pleasant but non-engaging. No meal suggestions, no comments on menu etc. And the website advertises a special drink and app discount on Wednesdays that he seemed to know nothing about. The hostess was extremely rude. Stood there for almost 10 minutes with no one there. We had a reservation for 2. She asked if we would like to be in front of the music or not. I said, "oh, I don't know. We have never been here before." The next thing I knew she starting walking off with menus. We followed her but she was walking so fast, we honestly lost her. Then we found her in a back room full of little kids and it was also in a doorway. I then said, "Can we go back in that room" (this was the room were the live music was at). She stated all tables were reserved and this is the only option. I think she stated "it's this or nothing". Then she walked off with the menus. We did tell the server what happened, but no one cares.
