Inside Ocean Downs Casino, there is a little food court place called Waves that serves food until midnight. I got a Philly Cheesesteak (with pepper jack cheese) $14. Had no grilled onions or hot pepper relish at all. I asked for no tomatoes and got tomatoes instead. They were very generous with the meat however. BLT ($8) bacon was incredibly dry and hard. I do not recommend getting a BLT from here. Maryland Crab Soup ($7) had good flavor and seasoning - not much crab meat though. A fountain soda was $3. They have Pepsi products. There is also a credit card fee of 3.5%. Service was a bit slow. There was two guys in the kitchen and one person taking orders. It took a little over 20 minutes to get our food. They also serve pizza by the pie and by the slice. Inside the casino, there is a bar and a ton of slot machines. Some slot machines were out of order. Not enough table games were open for a Thursday night. They had 2 adjacent Roulette tables and only one was active. Everybody was tightly crowded around that one table. It would be nice if they opened the other Roulette table up. There were mainly Blackjack tables ($25 min) open, and one or two Texas Hold 'Em and Mississippi Stud tables. Went to the casino to watch the horses race. I wish there were more self service booths instead of having to wait in line. Went during my birthday week and got $15 towards slots. Also got some more slot money for being there for the first time. Wish there were lower table prices. The lowest price I saw for black jack was $15. Super small casino but still a good amount of slot machines. Food was also surprisingly good. The bread is super soft. You can eat in the restaurant and watch the horses race. Ocean Down Casino in Berlin Maryland. This casino is near Ocean City Maryland. A little over 10 minutes to get to the casino from Ocean City. You must be 21 years or older to go in the casino. The casino is medium size building even though it looks big from the outside. The casino has many slots and tables. The tables is located in the back. Our visit was Tuesday June 20, 2023. As you drive up to the building, You can see how big the casino looks. There is parking all over the place. So you should get a spot even if the place is busy. Parking is free. As soon you park the car. You walk into the building where security is at the front door to make sure you are 21 years and old to enter the casino. After security, You see slots to your right, slots to your left and center of the floor. They have slots everywhere. If you go to the left inside the casino and walk all the way to the back. You the have all the tables like craps, black jack, roulette etc. So if you are a table person like myself, then that's where you need to go like I mentioned in my previous comment above. They do have a restaurant and a bar area in the middle of the casino. Navigation through the casino isn't hard. It's mostly a big cycle but the inside isn't big like the building is outside. You have all the slots everywhere you go beside in the back on the left. The casino is clean but felt like a little old fashioned casino like you would find in Las Vegas or something. It definitely need a major upgrade in the place. I didn't get to use the bathrooms so I couldn't say if they was clean or not but we did go on a slow day so it probably was clean during our visit. They have new and old fashion slots which is great to see. Some of my favorite games are the newer ones. The main tables was close like the craps table but they did have a electric craps table open. You still get to roll like normal but you don't bet on table. You just bet on the computer instead. All the other tables was was open which was good to see. You do not get free soda in this casino like literally every other casino I have even been to. I didn't see any soda machines beside the one that was in the restaurant. That's something that the casino need to look into because we was thirsty and not customer service support. The staff seem like they was happy but couldn't really tell if that makes sense but the guy that was hosting the craps table game was great! One thing I did not see for the casino was a server. I didn't see one person that giving out drinks and the place was empty at the time. It just feels like customer service is out of the door with this casino but it's a good time just to try and win some money. We did not get to try the food and drinks at the bar. Seemed to be a nice crowd mostly vacationing people and facility was clean as were the bathrooms. It is very close to Ocean City, MD. They have promotions every week. Let me tell you one thing that would make you shocked. I even didn't get the chance to say anything from the beginning of the accident. Yes I call it an accident. But for those people who have no clue about what happened they've worked hard to convince themselves and others that I Committed a crime. I was in the smoking room at one of the machines that had me win $10K after the fifth spin. During that time I was cashing out my voucher and going through my pocket as it was showing on their surveillance video. I turned my head to the left side to notice a similar color to one of my credit cards. I reached out and I placed the card in my pocket shirt. I came back to my seat and I heard couple of people were talking about their credit card so I said to myself let me go outside and find a security guard so he can verify a card that has a faded numbers and the name as well. During my time there my eyes were so tired and I just got my new glasses and they told me that I need time to get use to them. After I finished my smoke and people were going in and out I went out to look for a security guard that they were no where to be found. Because each time anyone hit a small jackpot they have to send out a security guard with the cashier. Now during my time outside I got distracted and I continue walking between the machines like everyone else. After I ran out of money I wanted to use my American Express credit card to get cash advance. I was aware that the cashier doesn't accept American Express credit card but still I attempted to use it. To my bad luck and after I handed my own ID imagine my own ID by accident I insert the card that I found on the floor. Of course and I don't blame the owner of the card holder calling the police on his debit card. Because himself until now he cannot believe what happened was normal. someone hand out his own information and commit a fraud . But the card holder wasn't truthful about the description of his faded debit card that was impossible to read or even read the numbers. From the start of the incident I was innocent and I am innocent. But we live in a system that is rigged and to be able not to do jail time and prove that they're doing their job properly you would be in a situation where you have to admit to something that you didn't commit. Oceans Down is a solid casino if you're looking to gamble without having to break the bank. The main reason why me and some of my friends opt to make the 2.5 hour drive from coastal Virginia is because they have table mins as low as $5, even on the weekends!! I will say that the amount of table games that they have here is very limited -- probably less than 20 table games all together (Mississippi stud, blackjack, 3 card poker, roulette, craps, etc). Blackjack here does pay 2 to 1 and dealer hits on soft 17 which gives you a better advantage than some other casinos. Most of the dealers here are friendly and engaging and make the gambling experience fun. I would say that this casino is 70% filled with slots and the rest are table games. This place is much quieter and the people who come here are less rowdy and a bit on the older side. Overall, if you're looking for value, I highly recommend coming here to make your dollar stretch the most. I've only eaten in the cafeteria area once and it's decent - pretty typical American fare. I recommend eating at the Mcdonald's a few blocks away instead though. Don't expect this to be a modern casino with some modern amenities - there's no extra bells and whistles here folks. Worst place on earth.I'd rather get robbed on the side of the street than gamble here. Absolute joke of a casino. They might have one pleasant employee in the entire joint and he was our dealer. Let me paint you a picture. Memorial Day weekend sitting at the blackjack table with a couple buddies. We buy a round of drinks. It's just us at the same table for about an hour or so when some guy in a terrible suit comes up and asks my friend to leave and blatantly lies to his face saying he was stumbling around and bumping in to people. Ocean Downs Casino has all of the hallmarks of a standard casino. They have plenty of parking, an attentive security detail checking IDs upon entry, and a variety of games and bars once inside. There are plenty of slots, plus the standard games like Craps, Blackjack, Poker, and Roulette. The Craps tables were the place to be. There was good energy and the staff was friendly. The bar staff was also very friendly, though they charge full price for drinks for players. In my experience, many casinos offer free drinks or discounted drinks for active players. There was also a decent amount of trash and empty cups lying around near the slots and in the cup holders at table games. Our party had a good time overall, but we wouldn't go out of our way to return if we come back to Ocean City. read more

Was in town so Saturday evening (03/07/20) we went to to dinner and then we went to the casino since my friend plays poker. I'm not big on gambling but I do love the casino atmosphere. This is a very small casino compared to what I'm used to in the Baltimore Metro area. While my friends were playing poker, I went over to the customer service counter and signed up for an Players Club Reward card. The woman who helped me was courteous and efficient and explained how to redeem my $10 in free slot play at the kiosk. Most of the slots are penny slots form what I could see. I'm not big on slots so after losing about $30 (my $20 plus the $10 free play) I was just people watching. I've been to my fair share of casinos and this one was not even up to par to even Atlantic City. Aside from being small and having an obnoxious amount of security (which makes you wonder what type of people go there). It took them over 15 minutes to sign my sister up for a card. (My grandmother and myself got our cards pretty quick). They did have a promotion running, but I only got like $5 which is kind of sad. (Most casinos do like $10). On top of that, no servers come around with drinks and the slots were pretty stingy, in my opinion. Even machines I came across with wins were only wins of like $25. It's gonna be a long night. That's exactly what it felt like. I actually drove 2 and half hours to get here for one particular game. Hey it's no fun on travel by yourself. I get bored. This small casino hasn't been open very long and they have a long way to go for customer service unlike Barona. I know you read that review. Since there're small, I didn't expect many tables. There's two pits with about 10 tables apiece. And the one game I wanted was at a pit that was closed. You would think at request they would open it but no. I understand they didn't have enough dealers so I played a couple of other games waiting for them to open it at 6. I got there about 230pm. 6pm and I was told that the upcoming shift would open the pit at 8pm. 8pm and I was told that the pit would open at 10pm. I could have went to Dover Casino instead of staying here to play games that I wasn't interested in. They finally opened at 1030pm and the only reason I didn't blow up for the lack of service was because I had to tell myself, they didn't have enough dealers. I just wished they told me that well ahead of time. Overall three stars. It's tough letting my emotions not factor into this rating. Parking good and dealers friendly. Being the gambleholics we are, my boyfriend and I found the closest casino during our trip to Ocean City and decided to try our luck. Ocean Downs is about 10 minutes outside of Ocean City. When you start to see the billboards, you'll know you're going the right way. If you're expecting table games or a Vegas/Atlantic City style experience -- this is not the place for you. EVERYTHING here is electronic, from roulette, blackjack, craps, and slots. There's also racetracks as well. There's newer roulette and craps machines towards the back of the casino, and an old school 1980s style one in the front. The casino itself is small -- if you're standing on one side of the casino, you can easily see the other side. There's only four ticket redemption machines (two in the front, two next to the cashier), but if you don't want to wait, you can also redeem your ticket at the cashier. Overall, this place is a bit outdated and could benefit from a renovation. The bar offers premium liquor and a few beers on tap, as well as complimentary sodas, coffee, and water. They don't offer a buffet here like most casinos do, but they do have a small cafe. The bathrooms are clean and well-kept, and the staff throughout the casino were all friendly! It's also smoke-free throughout the whole casino, with an atrium outside for smokers. If you don't mind electronic games, this casino does the job. The slots are pretty tight and don't pay out. We were there several hours and no slots were hitting. It was pretty busy so you would like to think someone would hit even a small jackpot. The tables were the same. Very tight. The drinks tend to be on the expensive side. $5 for a small mixed drink full of ice and $8 for premium.
