It came equipped with everything you need including plates, utensils, glasses, cutting board, coffee machine etc. The bathroom came equipped with lotion, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel. The room also came with a mini fridge, toaster oven, and because the temperature dropped 20°, we even used the little fireplace/heater. It was really quite lovely. The beach was not far and we were reasonably close to town. So, the location is very convenient. Wen, who I assume is the owner was very warm and welcoming. She was extremely efficient and they definitely take Covid seriously. The room was very very clean. I would say that the room can smell a little a little musty when you first walk in but i had deodorizer which I always bring whenever I travel and it was fine. If you're expecting luxury, this is not the place but it's lovely, nicely decorated and really comes with all that you need. You might say it's retro or old school but it's exactly what you might expect from a cottage. I forgot to mention that there's also a patio area with a Weber grill and lovely wrought iron furniture. The shower was very hot and the bed was comfortable, which is important to me. :) I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back, especially since Hither House is dog friendly!

The owner checks up on you and makes sure you are having a nice day and offers daily towel switch outs if you'd like! The cottages are adorable and very locally close to all the best things to do in montauk. One of the most quaint and nice stays. They have campfires and grills in the back and a whole kitchen inside so we took advantage and made a nice dinner on the grill and it was amazing. Overall: super clean, super friendly, quaint and relaxing, and lots to do! Definitely check this place out if you are looking for a place to stay in montauk.

SUPER SCAM.........Save your $...and NEVER go to The Ocean Dunes..............Super dive…read more"resort"...TOTAL SCAM.........they post beautiful "resort" photos. My unit was filled with mouse droppings, mold, rust and 1970s decor. ....totally disgusting and unclean....AC didn't work.....dead flowers in a vase with petals falling to the ground..ping pong balls in a kitchen cabinet, mold on plastic balcony furniture, rusty, broken an missing chairs...Mouse droppings, dirty pots and pans in the cabinets, no drinking glasses, no dishwasher detergent, broken toaster, no working lights, etc. The Ocean Dunes charged me $700 a night with a 6 night minimum for a fraternity house type stay..........5 star hotels in italy charge less than $400 per night.........SUPER SCAM....

They're co-op apts., some of which are owned and occupied by their owners, and then others that are managed for guests from season through the end of October. When trying to find a place in the Hamptons that had a pool and easy access to the beach for a reasonable rate, a friend of mine recommended Ocean Dunes. It's exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful lush property, heated pool with plenty of warm towels, and best of all, a gorgeous private stretch of beach 5 min. walk from the rooms. Our room was lovely, too, just like a little beach home away from home, with seaside decor, a kitchen, king bed, and private patio out back. You can hear the waves from your room! Staying here afforded my boyfriend and me a few days of peaceful bliss. I love it here and want to come back ASAP! *Tip: Check TripAdvisor for a coupon you can mention when you book your room. I did and got 20% off the nightly room rate!

I lived here for almost three years, I can honestly say that the biggest issue with this complex…read moreisn't the apartments, it's the management. There have been numerous reports of theft in my building, yet management's response has consistently been to tell residents to "file a police report" while refusing to install cameras in areas where theft continues to occur. My vehicle was even hit on the property, and because there were no cameras, there was no way to identify who did it. It's frustrating to see ongoing security concerns ignored while tenants are left to deal with the consequences. The rent increases are another major issue. Every lease renewal seemed to come with an increase of $100-$300 despite no noticeable improvements to the property. On top of that, management seemed to find new ways to add charges and fees over time. At one point, they decided to change the locks throughout the complex and then passed that cost on to residents. Additional amenity fees and other charges were added despite tenants never requesting these changes. It felt like every renewal came with another excuse to charge more while providing the same level of service. Cheryl and the management team were by far the most frustrating part of living here. Cheryl seemed to prefer in-person meetings whenever concerns were raised, but the moment you disagreed or had a different opinion, those conversations often became argumentative. It also felt like important discussions were intentionally kept off email, leaving little to no paper trail when issues later came into question. Conversations would be forgotten, information would get lost, and tenants were often left repeating themselves because management couldn't stay organized. Professional communication and record-keeping should not be this difficult. As a military member, I was asked for my LES and income verification multiple times because the office couldn't keep track of documents that had already been provided. The lack of organization was honestly shocking. Having to repeatedly submit the same paperwork because management lost track of it was both frustrating and unprofessional. The final straw was when we requested a one-day extension after our apartment was completely moved out because we could not checkout of our command on a Sunday. The apartment was empty, cleaned, and ready to be turned over. We weren't asking for a week or even a few extra days, just one day. Despite that, management refused to work with us or show any flexibility. After nearly three years as residents, the complete lack of understanding for military obligations was disappointing. After we moved out, management attempted to charge us for a full carpet replacement, claiming there was "pet odor" throughout the apartment. When I requested proof or documentation supporting that claim, none was provided. We had lived there for nearly three years, cleaned the apartment before leaving, and yet were still presented with a significant charge based on an allegation that could not be substantiated. After I disputed the charge and requested supporting evidence, management ultimately returned our full security deposit. That experience only reinforced my concerns about how quickly tenants can be charged without clear documentation or proof. The only reason this review isn't even worse is because of the maintenance staff. They were always professional, responsive, and hardworking. They consistently kept the property maintained and were often more helpful than the management office itself. They deserve recognition because they are the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. Overall, after nearly three years of living here, I found this complex to be overpriced, poorly managed, disorganized, and unwilling to address ongoing security concerns. Between the repeated rent increases, added fees, lack of security, poor communication, questionable move-out charges, and unwillingness to work with military residents, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The maintenance team deserves five stars, but management earns one.

When we moved in, I was attacked by the moving company we hired, and was very stressed. I also got sick and had to have emergency surgery. I was smoking weed, as I have a medical card, and it's a legal substance in this state. The property manager Cheryl and I got off to a terrible start, with her telling me we would be kicked out if I smoked weed, and I could sit down with them and tell them why I smoke weed and maybe she would make an exception, so for 3 weeks I went without my medical weed that I smoked for anxiety. She told me "we have great lawyers, we don't want all that weed stuff here" I was admittedly very excitable during this time, and probably down right rude. We got a letter saying we would be kicked out if I did not stop, and a few weeks later "sorry, you can smoke weed. We weren't aware of the laws" (that had been in place for YEARS at this point) We went two years with no issues. We paid our rent on time every month. We don't even stay here a lot as we travel often. We got a letter on our door on Christmas Eve letting us know we have to move in February. If this isn't retaliation and discrimination, I'm not sure what is. I would be very weary of living here. We are on the first floor and the front door to the building shakes so hard, pictures fall off our walls. And for 2 years, they did nothing. The post office has told me they are not up to code with the way packages get delivered, and things get stolen regularly. Oh and don't complain about office staff in front of the dudes that fly around the properly pretty fast on those golf carts, aren't very polite and take forever to fix things. They're all related and friends. So you also can't complain to the office about work done in your home either. Nepotism at its finest for sure. I guess we're being kicked out because we complained about simple problems and smoke weed, and spoke up about the issues we had about it. Yikes Can't find another reason. Like I said, discrimination and retaliation. I'm sure we will be getting a whopping $0 of our security deposit
