Included in your stay is beach chair and umbrella service, but it was too chilly out for us to take advantage of that. We did enjoy sitting out on the lounge chairs on the beachfront deck they have here. The rooms we stayed in did have pretty big cracks under the doors which felt a little sketchy, and my mom's shower wasn't working properly. They would have moved us but we were already settled in when we noticed. Overall, great location, beachfront, amenities abound. Pros outweigh the cons for me.

Quiet family atmosphere with a diverse friendly clientele. Tip: Try to book week nights if your schedule permits, as pricing is much more reasonable than on weekends.

I didn't read that message until 7:30 am. They completely deny regulating the temperature. We have a big argument about it, BECAUSE THEY'RE LYING. The owner Adriana, I think her name it, shows up to my room to state how the room temp was 68. YES AT 7:30 AM AFTER YOU ADJUSTED IT DUE TO MY TEXT COMPLAINT. DUH. She doesn't like that I pointed that out to her, and she wants to stomp her feet that I am being rude and she will not tolerate me being disrespectful to her, well I feel the same way liar. She will not leave MY ROOM, as I had already started to pack to leave and canceled the rest of the week which they agreed to refund me for. She is so stubborn that she held her one foot in the doorway so I could not close the door until she had her say in the matter. She thinks she owns the property and therefore doesn't have to leave MY ROOM. It's mine until 10 am, unless I am committing a crime. I literally had to close the door on her to get her out. I have all the proof in the world on text messages that they control the AC. I hope she saved $10 and appreciates my horrible experience and living with this review.

Even though Ocean View Terrace has a motel-y look in person, they got away from the kitsch for more chic- and hubs went with it. Not necessarily situated on the water, but the bay IS actually Ocean View Terrace's biggest selling point at this compact 'Inn' from across the street on Montauk Hwy in Hamptons Bays. There are other noteworthy features: our airy and cheerful room has modern plank flooring, eating area, walk-in shower, beds had clean super crisp white sheets, walls were clean, AC, small deck, WiFi, charging stations, cable tv and a few other amenities. Because of COVID, Ocean View implemented strict check-in guidelines to minimize the spread of germs and a few other protocols. All nice to hear. But we felt a lot of work went towards upgrading rooms and forgot about the kitchenette. Still clean, but the stove burners, were individually covered in aluminum foil and that wasn't a pretty sight. I almost don't mind staying in motel-y spots- but as long as it's styled nicely from head-to-toe, I'm in. Adriana the Inn keeper though makes sure Ocean View's grounds are entirely well-kept in this little gem- and she's so sweet! Plus the office is also modernized, crisp and coastal. Again...If they just would've kept a keen eye on the kitchenette that's all. This is the smallest room we've stayed in ever. And at almost $400 a night- for 4 nights (yep)....... this is the Hamptons after all.

The room was lovely and had everything we needed - king bed, small kitchenette with mini fridge, and ice-cold AC. Loved the little patio space outside our room with picnic table! The hotel also provides beach chairs, which was great because we didn't need to bring our own. Check-in and check-out were done via text which was so simple and easy! No issues with parking either. The location can't be beat - direct access to the quiet beach across the street and just a short walk into town. The property is well-maintained and I loved all the florals & foliage - gorgeous lavender buzzing with bees outside our window! Maybe it was because we were there during the week instead of the weekend, but the place was packed full of families with little kids. Not at all what I expected from the hotel's marketing, which made it seem young, fun, and hip. We didn't bother going to the pool since it was a kid playground. Unit 8 was in between two other rooms and unfortunately we could hear everything on the other sides of the walls (lots of screaming kids). There were also people right outside of our window on the patio next door being loud until all hours of the night while we were trying to sleep, in complete disregard to the hotel's quiet hours policy. Even with the blinds down, I didn't feel like I had privacy from them, and having them right there felt invasive. I highly recommend booking one of the standalone units for better privacy. Lastly, Yelp showed that there was an "All Day Cafe" on the property but we could not locate it and gave up looking. Not a big deal, we walked into town for coffee and a bite to eat instead!

Our unit was spacious with a small eat in kitchen. The two bedrooms were very spacious with one of them having a fold out futon. I slept on the futon which wasn't uncomfortable at all. The unit itself could comfortably sleep probably 8 but we were four women and since it was spacious we just spread out. The location of the resort itself is perfect. Across the street and a short stroll down a path to get to the beach. It's literally 5 min from the main part of town. You also have access to the pool which is a nice size and doesn't get too crowded. I loved this place so much, I'm already scouting dates to take my husband back out east. I would totally stay here again. It really is great for family but also bachelorette parties!

It came equipped with everything you need including plates, utensils, glasses, cutting board, coffee machine etc. The bathroom came equipped with lotion, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel. The beach was not far and we were reasonably close to town. So, the location is very convenient. Wen, who I assume is the owner was very warm and welcoming. She was extremely efficient and they definitely take Covid seriously. The room was very very clean. I would say that the room can smell a little a little musty when you first walk in but i had deodorizer which I always bring whenever I travel and it was fine. If you're expecting luxury, this is not the place but it's lovely, nicely decorated and really comes with all that you need. You might say it's retro or old school but it's exactly what you might expect from a cottage. I forgot to mention that there's also a patio area with a Weber grill and lovely wrought iron furniture. The shower was very hot and the bed was comfortable, which is important to me. :) I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back, especially since Hither House is dog friendly!
