The place is easy to find, good thing it wasn't busy when I pulled in. An employee helped me out at the payment area, and another employee guided me before going into the tunnel, which I appreciated since I've had a bad experience somewhere else before. Ocean Xpress Car Wash is hands down one of the best self-serve car washes in LA, in my opinion. Their standard wash is around $10, and depending on what you add it can go up to about $14-$16, which is still really reasonable. They also offer monthly packages starting around $30, and one of the best deals is their $7 wash on Wednesdays. I'm not sure if the Wednesday special runs during the summer months, but they have permanent banners advertising it, so I assume it does. What really makes this place a quality of the wash itself. When you go through the self-serve wash, your car doesn't come out streaky, and the products they use seem to dry pretty quickly without leaving residue. You can dry it off if you want, but honestly it already looks pretty good once you're done. Another plus is their vacuum and air pressure stations. The vacuums actually have strong suction and don't feel weak or clogged like at a lot of other self-serve spots. The air pressure guns are top-tier too perfect for getting into tight spaces like between the seats, along the sides of the backseat, and those hard-to-reach areas near the passenger seat. They also have a good number of stalls, so you're usually able to pull in and vacuum your car without waiting forever. At a lot of other self-serve car washes, the vacuums are either broken, barely working, or just not up to standard -- but that hasn't been my experience here. I've seen some reviews saying their car still came out dirty, but I think it's important to set realistic expectations. This isn't meant to replace a hand car wash or a full detail, and it's definitely not the same as spending $200 on a professional detail. The goal of a drive-through wash like this is really to get the top layer of dirt, dust, and grime off your car. Depending on how much buildup you have things like bird droppings, heavy grime, or stuck-on dirt you may still need to wipe certain spots down yourself afterward and not be lazy some people bring a towel do a quick wipe-down or they sell QUALITY microfiber rags there. If you're expecting your car to come out looking like it was magically erased spotless, that's probably not realistic for any quick drive-through wash. On top of everything, the staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the location is convenient. Definitely worth checking out if you like washing your own car and having good equipment to do it. read more

Remember to bring your own drying towels to catch any spots the system misses. There are convenent parking spaces equipped with vacuums and high-pressure air for dusting and cleaning the interior. Got a free car wash from the Subaru dealership a few months ago. Back in Nov or Dec I checked on Google and their hours showed they closed at 6:30. I arrived at 6:00 and the worker said they closed at 5:30. I had to come back another day to use the free wash. When I actually got the wash, my car was cleaned about 80%. I have a Subaru Outback, there was still dirt on my rear glass under the spoiler, still dirty under rear bumpers and lower side moldings. Wheels were also still dirty. I am really glad this was a "free" wash and anyone who actually pays for this wash is wasting $. Note: their hours look to updates now on Google. read more

this poor excuse for a Car Wash is in a fantastic location however it's incredibly poorly run. It's filthy dirty and won't get your car clean at all. Basically ownership does not have any good management and therefore you have an unmaintained filthy dirty Car Wash that doesn't perform well nor clean the cars. Unfortunately, even though it's in a great location, this Car Wash is to be avoided at all costs. The Wash does a terrible job and leaves a ton of residual dirt on the car and just going through the Car Wash tunnel. The website says the location is open until 7pm and Yelp says 6pm. I drive my car through the wash at 5:20pm. I pull my car into a vacuum slot and spend 10mins hand drying my soaking wet vehicle. About 2 mins into my vacuum the equipment is turned off. Signs are posted everywhere that washes include a 10 min vacuum. Me: "excuse me, can you turn the vacuum back on or refund me?" Staff: "we close early now" Me: I understand, but I didn't know that, so can you please refund me" Staff: "why would we refund you, the vacuum is free" Me: i paid for a service that was shut off early. If you can't turn the vacuum back on, and you can't refund me, can I come back tomorrow to vacuum" Staff: no because you have to buy a wash to vacuum. TERRIBLE Operation. Their machine damaged my side view mirror and completely broke off the mirror piece. When we confronted them about this, and we even found the mirror on the ground inside the wash area, they retorted "We are not responsible." I told him they accepted payment to provide a service so they are absolutely legally responsible. The man on duty became cowardly and defensive and walked away. I asked him to please just give me your insuance info so I can handle this correctly with them. He told me "Go call your own insurance, not responsible." Needless to say, I left before it got ugly. I came here last weekend because I happened to be in the area. I got the cheapest wash $8 and for the price, I thought it was a great deal! For a Saturday, it wasn't too busy and I didn't have to wait too long. Honestly, I wish there were more of these in the Valley. This location is perfect for the commuter with just a few minutes to spare to get one's car clean. The value for the their service is great and you're in and out super fast. The vacuum areas are plentiful (even when busy, I waited for no longer than 5 minutes for a space and they have staff directing you to a space that you may not see) and include compressed air spouts to get rid of pesky water that stays hidden in nooks and crannies and ruin your clean car when you pick up speed. I think the most important part of this location is that, at the time of writing, I'd visited at least a half dozen times and each time, the location was well maintained, clean, and welcoming. I'm not sure what some of people who wrote one-star reviews are expecting. For $10-15 a wash, you get a solid cleaning for the price. You're not going to get a perfectly spotless car (though it gets rid of 95%+ of the dirtiness), you're going to have some dried water marks unless you towel dry it afterwards yourself, and you're not going to have employees who will coddle your way through a car wash as if you're the next best thing after sliced bread. When it was freshly opened it was good. Now the machines are clogged and run down. They even lie about their hours, it says they close at 7 but they really close at 6:50. I hate leaving negative reviews as I love to support local business, but I feel like I need to. I'm giving two stars instead of one star because the woman at the pay machine was super friendly and helpful. The wash was not good. One photo I attached is of my car with soap stains all over the side right after I got home immediately after the wash. The other photo contains scratches all over the trunk of my car that were not there before. I wish I read the other reviews that showed damage to cars after using this wash. Also, I know it's an automated wash, but the cars are WAAAY too close for comfort in the machine. If the woman in front of me even tapped her breaks, I could've rear ended her. When I asked the attendant for a towel to wipe the soap off he told me it would be an additional charge. I pointed out to him my car was still covered in soap and water.
